The food was excellent, extremely well cooked with lovely complimentary flavours.
The staff were very nice and helpful.
The portion size did seem small - the cod portion was much smaller than expected. That said the accompaniments enhanced the meal perfectly.
Fantastic fresh fish cooked expertly. This is one of the best places to go for fresh fish meals. Unlimited chips is also a nice addition too. Have been here quite a few times and never been disappointed.
By far the best Italian restaurant in Plymouth, if you're looking for an authentic Italian experience (both in terms of food & the restaurant's atmosphere!)
No other Italian restaurant that I've tried in Plymouth personally has even come close to replicating authentic Italian food like the food that they serve in Positano!
The quality of the food is unmatched, and I am yet to try a dish that I didn't enjoy; it's very rare to find Italian food of this standard in Plymouth so it's no wonder that this restaurant is so popular & highly rated!
A very nice touch is that they give you free bruschetta before you have your meal, and it's the best bruschetta I've ever had!
The portions are huge so make sure you're hungry!
Most of the pasta dishes I've tried have come piled high on the plate, and the Calzone was absolutely enormous!
The prices are also very reasonable, and you definitely get your money's worth with the quality of the food & large portion sizes
The atmosphere is cosy & welcoming, and they play a good mix of Italian-feeling music at a comfortable volume that doesn't inhibit your ability to have a good conversation with friends and family over your meal
The staff are also very friendly & accommodating, which adds to the experience
Booking a table can sometimes be a bit difficult because of how popular the restaurant is, especially on weekends but it's well worth the effort to do so!
Restaurant kept calling us in terms of booking not professional!
& Very rushed in restaurant robotic business mode not the culture i want to relax in on a Saturday night.
Food good & wonderful selection but not as good as last visit 2022
Decor of restaurant is class but
Very expensive for standard portions.
Was visiting Salcombe and wanted a crab sandwich, and although this place is out of the main area (in a car park) we managed to find it.
This small place is quaint, only a few tables inside and some outside but rugs supplied for outside if wanted.. it over looks the sea & a small pontoon with several boats.
Menu has purple crab options as well as other seafood dishes (might of had meat but tbh I didn’t notice), Had the crab sandwich (£18:00) with side of fries (£4:00). The sandwich was grain bread, lemon mayo & packed full of white & brown crab meat, garnished with small side salad -it was delicious.
Great place to visit & have delicious food with a view
I booked an afternoon tea for my mums birthday and the staff in the Brasserie could not do enough for us. We had a lovely view of the gardens and sea, while eating our afternoon tea. The scones were super light and the sandwiches lovely. We couldn't manage to eat all the cakes so the staff happily supplied boxes for us to take them home. My mum and I really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you
Great food, booked 2 weeks in advance, booked in & sat at 6;30, but told to leave the table before 7:30 as it was booked again. Too rushed in our opinion.
I can honestly say this was one of the best meals we have had.
The staff were so attentive and friendly. When we arrived they had even had a bowl of water ready for our pup, some treats on a dish and a blanket. So so thoughtful, they really went the extra mile!
The cocktails were absolutely amazing, some of the best I’ve tasted for a long time. The food was excellent, full of flavour, nice and hot and you could just tell that the dishes were made with love.
The atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant were beautifully decorated with a traditional Spanish feel.
I would love to come back if I lived closer but was a great place to visit on our little trip.
Couldn’t recommend enough, deffo one to visit if you’re in/around Ilfracombe!
Thank you so much The Terrace Tapas xx
