A lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and welcoming even with a wet dog! Stopped for a coffee and ended up having brunch. Lots of amazing vegetarian options. I had the egg, garlic mushroom, spinach on sourdough with hot sauce and dukkah. My husband has the bacon bagel (4 options of bread!!!), three huge rashers. Coffee and food amazing and the dog was spoiled with treats. All at a very affordable price. Can't recommend enough!

Great service and really tasty food, we could not fault it. We have loaded chips with bacon bits and cheese and also chorizo hash, both were delicious. A lovely little spot for lunch, also dog friendly.

Absolutely lovely little place. Dog friendly & loved chilled but efficient staff. We had the dhal & the spinach, egg & mushrooms. Moonface found a new beer that he liked. Will definitely be back!

Stumbled on this place when we were looking for a coffee and a sandwich and were not disappointed. Really well set out, good atmosphere and very friendly and efficient service. But most of all really great coffee and exceptional food. My friend had the salmon bagel - could easily have fed two! And I tried the BLT sandwich (3 slices of bacon and plenty of lettuce and tomato). Thanks to the team for being friendly and efficient, and the chef of course! - we’ll be back.

Not sure why it's classed as a bakery as it's a cafe. I was hoping to buy fresh bread but unfortunately it's been put under bakeries instead of cafes.

Well over an hour before sitting down we got our food (breakfast). Staff were apologetic. Unfortunately the food was average for the price - 'spicy' beans were just regular beans, and luke warm. Poached eggs were over cooked. That said the bacon on the big breakfast was perfect, and a decent serving. Suspect this place is normally better and we just had an off day.

Awesome place for coffees and bagels! We had breakfast here and it was insane. We spoke to one of the guys our first day who was so helpful and write down greats to visit. It’s a great place with a nice vibe! The bagels looked insane!! The hot chocolate and milkshakes were delicious. I’d visit again and again.

Rang ahead and their chatty friendly staff were happy to set aside their special salt beef bagel for our lunch. Good job as it was their last ones. Delightfully friendly staff who welcomed us and our slightly wet puppy, lovely coffee and cold beer on tap. Would definitely return.

A regular for us but fantastic to share with 4 other families who all visited us for the school holidays. 19 of us (pre-ordered) delicious breakfast, lots of choice & staff couldn’t do enough for us 5*

This place is so effortlessly cool just what Bude needed. The owners Chris and Sarah plus the rest of the staff are super friendly. The music is alternative and the decor is so quirky with an arcade game and a pin ball coffee table. There is also a lovely garden area to catch the sun. The coffee is really good and we had the best breakfast here in Bude and considering we have been coming here together for 18 years that’s a big achievement. The spicy beans are genius and the portions are generous. The menu has a great variety even offering Coco pops for the kids. We will need to make a few stops here before we go home so that we can try all the tasty options as you’re not gonna find them anywhere else!!! This place is a must visit! 🖤

Ok, so definitely go here for coffee and a bagel. Coffee is perfect, all pretty looking and tastes 👌great! The bagel options are extensive but not overwhelming. You will inly have a problem picking which one. They have high chairs. Good decor. Clean toilets. The elvis bagel went down well, if you love salty sweet combos like that, who doesnt?! Also...great chips - worthy of note 😊 Priced fairly (not cheaply) for good quality surroundings, music and grub.

Myself, 3 friends and 2 dogs were looking for somewhere to have lunch after a walk along the beach. We spotted chaplins and noticed they catered for awkward people like me (I can't have wheat, gluten, milk and have other food intolerance ls too). The staff were very welcoming and I didn't feel like an inconvenience. The cafe was busy and we were told there would be a wait for food, we weren't waiting long, but it was worth the wait anyway. Would highly recommend, in fact, we got stopped in the street by someone who thought we looked like locals (we arent) and asked if we could recommend anywhere, and we sent them straight to chaplins. Thank you for an enjoyable and delicious lunch.

The great reviews brought us here and lunch in the sunshine on the road side terrace. Excellent and friendly service. Great food and coffee. My only sadness is the plastic grass and foliage. Why? Unattractive and environmentally unfriendly. At odds with this otherwise very nicely appointed café and super motorbike on display.🇬🇧🇳🇿

A friendly welcome and tasty bagel lunch hit the spot, just when we needed it on a very hot day. We enjoyed it so much the first time we went back again. Perfect Bude stop off point.

Busy day, but we had to wait over 50 mins for 2 standard breakfasts after being told it was a was a 20 min wait. I asked for a free drink after 50mins, while we waited, I was told no, there was nothing they could do. Food was ok but expensive for what it was.

Had the best deli New York style bagel (gluten free as well), and the fries were great also. Fantastic location, really nice inside, and the staff were great also. Definitely coming back here again!

We chose this place for coffee on a short trip to Bude, our first for quite a while due to obvious reasons. The flat whites were expertly prepared - one to add to our list of ‘must visit’ for future visits.

What a discovery, this place has atmosphere, ambiance, friendly staff and the best (award winning) coffee in town. So, if you feel like being nice to yourself you should come here.

We were on holiday in Bude last week and visited this place 3 times The dynamite valley beer is superb!! Very friendly good service and the dog was also made very welcome Well worth a visit if your in bude!

I found this by chance, as it’s one of the only independent coffee shops that open early! I love shopping local when I come on holiday to Cornwall, but often the coffee shops don’t open until 10. There is always a costa or Cornish bakery...

The coffee is next level, the best americano I've tasted in a long time. The Peanut butter, banana and maple syrup bagel was gorgeous. Can't wait to go back. A rock eolid 10/10.

Visited yesterday with friends less fortunate than ourselves. After seating we were offered a menu and ordered 2 coffees and 4 burgers. The coffee was hot and strong, just as I like it. The burgers came with fries and salad garnish and it was cooked...

We were a party of four, ordered coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for drinks. A range of different bagels as snacks, all of a high standard. Staff attentive, decor clean and modern, ambiance and music good.

I’ve just paid my first visit to The House of Chaplin and had a bacon & egg bagel with a mug of tea. The bagel was fabulous … so delicious and the bagel bread was soft and fluffy. Really good breakfast, thank you! Oh yes...

Great staff, lovely decor, fabulous coffee. But very restricted menu for nut/sesame/smoked food allergies.

Yo I ain't know what they do to the chocolate in this place but it's amazing. Rich and warm and smooth! And the latte art slays too. Heck yes.

Ate inside - welcoming staff and efficient service. had one veggie breakfast and one non-veggie ( bacon etc ) - arrived quickly and was both well cooked and filling - would recommend .
