The Kings Head in Forest of Dean

It’s great to finally see this building return to it’s intended purpose. I only stopped for a drink so that’s the reason I didn’t rate the food. The place has a fresh modern twist with an interesting interior. The guy who served me was friendly and the beer is well kept. I hope this place continues to do well.

Went for food with my kids and daughters boyfriend this evening. The service and food was amazing. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. Will most definitely be back again soon. Highly recommended

This is a young husband and wife team trying to get this pub off the ground, friendly and welcoming they even had the kindness to open early to allow 2 weary travellers some refreshments. Quirky inside with some great personal touches, i wish them deserved success

Worst beer selection in the forest, food poor.. toilets out of order.. not sure how you can open.. why bother??

Food is brilliant, homemade chips and you get plenty of them, the burger was really tasty with so much melty cheese on each patty, you can choose from a singular patty burger all the way to an 8 patty burger!! They also serve steaks and you can order things such as rack of ribs as a side option so plenty of selection. The service was good and they had squeezed us in last minute, price is what you would expect, I felt that 10.95 for a double burger and homemade chips was very reasonable for a restraunt meal and at such great quality, we live close by and will definately be back!

Lovely staff and very tasty food

We absolutely love this place, think we’ve been 3-4 times over the last few months. Meals are great value, if you have a big appetite and love meat you won’t be disappointed! Really attentive service, friendly, comfortable. Will be back, for sure!

Absolutely fantastic meal and the staff were very attentive. Making sure we had everything we needed. We had the Sunday roast.

Went for a meal at lunch time. It was delicious. We had the king's head burger, half a rack of ribs and a chicken wrap. The portions were of a good size. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was good. We felt relaxed and happy.

The food was lovely. I’m a vegetarian and there was a really good choice of dishes. The staff were friendly and the pub had a good atmosphere.

Absolutely Beautifully Freshly Cooked Food from very experienced chefs. This is a traditional country English pub with the friendly atmosphere & caters for everyone. 100% Recommended for a truly wonderful friendly time.

Wir haben etwas getrunken. Obwohl es ein Zapfhahn an der Bar mit Thatcher's Cider hatte, war dieser nicht erhältlich. Es stand aber noch ein anderer Cider zur Auswahl, der auch sehr gut war. Die Bar ist etwas sporadisch eingerichtet, viele Möglichkeiten zum sitzen gibt es nicht. Die Bedienung war gut, die Preise sind sehr moderat.

The staff here are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious 😋 we have a very fussy 11 year old, and he loved it here!! We came with 1 child and 2 babies. We were made to feel comfortable and given enough space to sit and have a pram. Would highly recommend this place.

Excellent pub reopened in the heart of Blakeney. Couldn't fault the food or the staff. Usually has some decent real ale and a good variety of local cider. Beautiful interior, the new owners have done an outstanding job

We recently visited and were looking forward to our meal after eating at The Twilight Lounge in Cinderford. The food was OK but I don't feel it was the best value for money. A few of us ordered the battered mushrooms as a starter which was priced around £9.00, a little on the high side but obviously we know the price before we ordered so not a problem. We were rather disappointed and surprised that the starter consisted of 5 tiny button mushrooms on a lettuce leaf, a little expensive at £9.00! The burgers were reasonably priced around £12.00 to £15.00 depending on which one you had but again the portion wasn't very generous. Overall the food was OK but some of the pricing is too high

Went for my birthday on Friday. Wow what can I say about the food it was delicious and cooked to perfection we had a starter, main and a dessert couldn’t fault any of it already looking forward to our next visit. All the staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is to much trouble for them 10 out of 10 from us

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here, so rare to find somewhere with proper homemade gravy. Great atmosphere and selection of drinks. I'd share pics but we couldn't wait to eat it so forgot to take any. Looking forward to taking my kids back for the Halloween event

I brought my family here to have food and I have 1 very fussy eater of a daughter who will only eat hot dogs or burgers from here and nowhere else food is always outstanding

Called In Sunday for lunch. They were very buzy but still able to seat us. The staff were very accommodating and friendly couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent very tasty and a prompt service. Would highly recommend a visit. Had some friends who went to the burger launch on Friday.Massive thumbs up best burger they've eaten, were booked into try this week. The staff were up against it, short staffed but still provided a friendly helpful service. Unfortunately there was one table while we were in the restaurant that continually moaned about everything one person in particular. Felt very sorry for the staff. People need to understand times are hard for us all. But hospitality are really up against it, with soring food and energy prices and staff shortages. We all need to support our local pubs and restaurants through these hard times.

We booked Sunday lunch with our friends. I had seen their website, the meal photos looked very good. Our 4 roasts came out stone cold. Plates were also cold. We told the young man serving us, he took the plates back, they came out only slightly warmer. To be fair the food tasted ok, but because it was cold, could n’t finish the plate. We thought we would order a pudding, hoping for better. When I booked I was told all puddings were home made, so the thought of a homemade crumble filled us with hope. We all 4 ordered berry crumble. It came out in tiny glass dishes, no crumble on top just porridge oats, that we think had been toasted, it was vile! The guy that appeared to be in charge apologised, no explanation, said he would have a word with the “cook”. Surely crumble is universally known, 3 ingredients, butter, sugar, and flour. None of those ingredients were in this. This looked like it had been made by a child. To say sorry, he took off one of the cost of the puddings. Big deal! The bill for 4 with 1 soft drink each, £61.75!!! We would have gone to Blakeney chippy opposite had they been open! My advice eat somewhere else! Very dissatisfied! Will not be going back.

Having visited The Twilight Lounge in Cinderford several times, we had high hopes for our first visit to The Kings Head and we were definitely not disappointed. Freshly cooked food, superb ingredients and fantastic service all round made the visit really special. We sampled the Burger Menu and every meal was of the highest quality, prepared with attention to detail, expertly cooked and the service was exemplary. I can also say that the prices are extremely fair and great value for money. I will definitely be returning to try the main menu.

Very nice pub with very friendly staff 👍, food is very nice indeed and with proper homemade chips. They have worked hard to open this pub back up in these difficult times so all credit to them, just what the village needs. Keep up the good work Steve/Sam.

The pub is very clean and looks fab. Staff are friendly, polite, welcoming and efficient, nothing is too much trouble. I have yet to dine here, but the menu and food looks fab and everything is homemade, which is always a big plus. I look forward to my meal and cocktails next week 🙂

Had our wedding reception here and it was perfect, Karl and Sophie worked extremely hard, all hours of the night to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it. The food was excellent, staff are friendly and quick. It's a beautiful place and decorated to the highest standards. Couldn't recommend this place more for family events!! It's a home away from home 🤍
