As a local cycling group we regularly drop in for a cup of tea/coffee and cake. Always a very friendly reception with very good coffee at very reasonable prices. It is run by volunteers so deserves our support. It is also on the Newent Cycling Loop so pick up a map.

Happened upon by chance. Very friendly volunteers running the shop and cafe. Excellent cakes, coffee and good stock of provisions. Also, second hand books, antiques and local produce. Well worth a visit.

Run by volunteers this shop is a wonderful tribute to the efforts of volunteers in the local community who run it. All the basic essentials plus a few extras. The shop also houses a no-nonsense cafe serving a range of snacks and drinks. And there’s more! A collection of bric a brac vintage furniture and ceramics ( including kitchenalia).

Don't drive past it although it may be tucked away .really friendly staff.... Only had a toastie but it was one of the most moth watering ones that I had ever had the fortune to experience and the coffee was divine! No instant coffe, the nicest ground coffee. The presentation of the cafè was lovely. Such a commuinty effort great to see! I would defentially recommend a visit and a browse around the rather large store which stocks just about everything you could ever want.

It’s great to finally see this building return to it’s intended purpose. I only stopped for a drink so that’s the reason I didn’t rate the food. The place has a fresh modern twist with an interesting interior. The guy who served me was friendly and the beer is well kept. I hope this place continues to do well.

On holiday in the area, and as someone diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, I was delighted to stumble across the Cinderford Fryer, where everything is gluten free. Where I live gluten free fish and chips are only available on the first Tuesday of the month! The fish was cooked fresh to order, the service was warm and friendly and the food was still hot on returning to our holiday home 5 miles away where we thoroughly enjoyed it. The curry sauce was amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough 😊

We had a fabulous family meal at The Bell on Saturday evening and very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was beautiful (especially the fish pie, which was to die for) Today, The Bell did us proud again when they provided a wonderful after funeral buffet for us at a very reasonable price. The selection of fresh sandwiches and home made cakes was fabulous plus sausage rolls, samosas, pork pies, sausages, dips, salads, crisps, nuts etc etc. Thank you both for looking after us all so well . We will see you again soon. Xx
