Visited Salty Dog yesterday. Not been for a few weeks (avoiding the school holidays). Greeted, as always, by friendly owner and ordered a bacon and egg roll and cheese wrap. Both as delicious as always. Thank you, we will be back again soon. I would not normally comment on other reviews but might I suggest to the person who knew they would need to take medication that they take a small bottle of water with them on their visits out and about (as we normally do). There is always the option to actually buy a drink too. Shouldn't be relying on others to provide what you can do for yourself with just a little thought beforehand.

I have been going here for many years. Everything that is sold at the Salty Dog is brought in by the Owner in her van, including the water that is used for the coffee machine and to make tea. There is no running water here. Sue sells bottled water, with donations going to the RNLI for every bottle sold.

My wife and I live locally and for many years we have enjoyed a bite at the Salty dog. This morning we bought a couple of bacon paninis and we also asked for a glass of tap water to take my mid morning medication ( this fact was also mentioned at the time) for my Ankylosing Spondylitis. We were really shocked when the member of staff told us she did not have tap water. Next to us there were two dogs enjoying two large bowls of water provided by the cafe. I suppose tap water would be required too for self hygiene of staff, would be utilised for washing purposes and also to make the coffees and teas they serve. We believe the cafe should give a formal explanation why the have had such unusual attitude to customers who have been loyal to them for many years.

An assured 'go to' favourite of ours. Owner now a good friend as we take our dog to the beach February through October. Lovely honest local spot, friendly owner, staff and locals. The Dauphinoise with Bacon from the Specials Board a real winner. We love it there.

We stumbled upon Salty dog by accident while walking one morning from Teignmouth along the coast. The lady there was incredibly friendly and the food and drinks were on point! Initially we had jacket potato with a smoothie, also coffee and a treat... all of it was 100% delicious and prepared with care. Honestly wasnt expecting much but now will go out our way to eat here. BTW if you're fussy with coffee like me, I assure you wont be disappointed.

Just a little cafe with limited outside seating but this is a nice place to sit and have a hot drink or pulled pork roll after a walk on the beach. Closed in winter.

Great stopping place if walking the coast path from Dawlish or the seafront walk from Teignmouth. It may be small but the choice is great, paninis, toasties, sandwiches soup, breakfast rolls, wraps etc etc something for everyone even a doggy menu! Food is good and homemade sausage rolls are delicious. Can definitely recommend.

We wanted a long walk by the sea, starting at teignmouth we walked along the railway path and at the end near dawlish steps appeared leading to the salty dog kiosk. We were so impressed at the large menu and reasonable prices, also catered for those that prefer soy or oat milk. We loved this hidden gem and will certainly return again very soon

Tucked away at the far far end of Teignmouth Beach (known as Holcombe Bay), through the railway arches, you reach the end of Smugglers Lane. Friendly little kiosk. Free cookie (YUM) with your coffee :) Only gave it a 4 /5 because the first time we walked all the way there to discover it's closed on Tuesdays (no prize for guessing what day is was!) - so we went back another day.

Really nice cafe on the Teignmouth to Dawlish coast path. Located on Smugglers Lane, at the end of the sea wall. Free cookies with Lavazza coffee, huge bacon rolls, homemade soups and sausage rolls. Lovely staff and makes a nice stopping point for a little exercise. So much nicer than Eastcliff. Recommended.

We always visit here if we go to Teignmouth for a walk. It’s two miles there from the estuary car park, so we always feel we deserve a tea and to share one of their home made sausage rolls ( they’re massive!) We usually take it back up on the sea wall to enjoy the views. There’s lots of choice food wise, including ice creams, and the woman serving is always friendly.

This little kiosk is a wonderful oasis away from the strains of modern life. A great rest stop for walkers, it boasts a substantial snack and drink menu and is run by a charming and friendly lady. It is tucked away in a sheltered spot at the bottom of Smugglers Lane. It provides us with an incentive to walk that bit further along the sea wall from Teignmouth, knowing there will be a warm welcome and some pleasant sustenance.

My wife and I were on an early morning walk between Teignmouth and Dawlish, and found the Salty Dog Kiosk as we approached the 1/2 way stage of our stroll! Despite the fact the owner was just setting up for the day, she was extremely friendly and welcoming, and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We had 2 coffees (which come with a free cookie or doughnut) and 2 breakfast baps - they were cooked fresh and were fantastic - not to mention great value. There is a huge range on the menu and fantastic service - we will be back again soon, with the dogs in tow next time around!

We walked along the sea front from Teignmouth to Dawlish. Saw the signs for the Salty Dog, smugglers lane. Stopped here and what a lovely surprise. Homemade goodies and loads of choice. I had a latte and had the choice of a free homemade cake or cookie. Partner had a banana milk shake, made with a fresh banana and fresh milk. Was lovely sitting and chatting to a local lady. Lovely find..After a long walk with my dog we came across a sign for the Salty Dog. We found it no problem (if coming from Teignmouth go careful as it can be slippery walking under the bridge). I had a lovely cappuccino and a free chocolate cookie (delicious). The Kiosk provides ice cream, bacon rolls etc etc. There was a water bowl for dogs and a jar of treats. Quirky find. I always stop to charge my batteries (and the dogs!).

We were welcomed by the head bar man, what a gentleman & a legend taking the time to talk to us. We had visited Buckfast Abbey & drove through this quaint little village, parked cheaply in the pay & display & popped into this small village pub. Great little traditional pub, pool table on the right hand side, very clean & throughout. Good selection of beer & ales. We sat in their well tendered gardens. Definitely recommend for a stop off.

A lovely much needed addition to this town! Always greeted with a smile and a chat. Friendly place to grab a bite to eat and drink. You never know what is going to be on the menu, always something a little bit different but usually a safe option for others wanting something more usual. However I would say a set menu is something this place could benefit from. Especially being a mum and wanting to take my child somewhere, it’s not always convenient to just see what’s on the board today, as it’s not always child friendly! But other than that it’s a nice little place that I hope sticks around for a while

There should be a government warning about this pub. You should be warned about how lovely it is. So nice to walk into a pub that's still a pub. It's how a pub should be. We went with friends for the first time last week and we will certainly visit again. Great atmosphere with friendly locals, lovely staff and then the food ‼️ OMG this is what pub food should be like. Fresh, cooked on site and a desperate Dan size portion. I could not recommend this pub any more. It's a proper pub with proper grub. Go you will love it.

We used to visit this place a lot under the previous owners as it was a fab place to bring our little one. Sadly we were sorely disappointed on our first trip under new ownership. The back “play” room was cold with no lights or background music and the few toys there were not in a good state at all. When we went to order food they said all they had on was hot drinks and cake. As we’d arrived with a hungry little boy looking for lunch we left without getting anything and, very sadly, had to resort to a local chain rather than supporting a small independent business 😕
