The atmosphere ia cozy, food was good. They have high chairs, so good to feed your baby while your trip. Pleasant experience.

Great place to have a cup of tea or hot chocolate. They have sandwiches and soup as well. It is very cosy inside, there is a little garden outside too.

The food choices are very good. Good portion sizes and always lovely and fresh. Living in Dawlish this is our go to place every Sunday for lunch highly recommended to all

This tea room is a must visit. Plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating beside the Brook in Dawlish. We had delicious sandwiches which were tasty and generously filled. The cream teas looked scrumptious. Despite being busy the service was excellent and ladies friendly.

This is a lovely little spot just outside the Dawlish train station. The food is to die for and the staff are so friendly and cheerful. The wait time for food is not too long even when it's busy and the food came out hot and fresh. I recommend stopping here for their delicious food and tea or coffee if you ever stop by in Dawlish. 10/10!

Enjoyed a fabulous cream tea! Fruit scones were freshly cooked and still warm upon being served to us. Lovely traditional bone china cups and saucers too. Sat out in the courtyard which was lovely and quaint. Would highly recommend!

Reserved a table for a late afternoon cream tea. We had a pleasant welcome and the food was exceptional, with excellent customer service. Kelly freshly made the scones this morning. All the staff keep up the good work.

Absolutely amazing ploughman's lunch, we stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the choice of food on the menu. The wait was acceptable considering it was very hot and lots of people were trying to get something to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful, the place was clean, tidy and welcoming.

What a lovely place for a lunchtime meal. It is gorgeous and they have thought of everything. The quaint plates and pretty decor. We loved it. The cake was outstanding and the cream tea was just as good. Would highly recommend.

A great little tea room in the wonderful town of Dawlish. The afternoon cream tea is well worth a try. Wonderful brie and chilli jam sandwich, two scones cream and jam, crisps salad and coleslaw and a lovely yogurt flapjack... Yes that's for one person. We shared.....🤣 Very strong tea just how it should be... Friendly staff and served promptly... Lots of attention to detail which makes this tea room a winner...

Booked in 15 walkers on Friday and they blocked out space in the shade at the back of the garden. The scones were amazing and everything was perfect. Reluctabt to tell you about this place in case we can’t get in next time thanks

Wonderful place for lunch. Kelly and the team excel in everything from a warm welcome, service and fabulous food. Kelly seeks out fresh local produce and portions are plentiful. The cakes and scones are to die for, never had a scone like these before. They just melt in your mouth delicious. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat then this is the place. Highly recommend

We had lunch today ploughman's, club sandwich and a egg sandwich, all the food was lovely, served quickly by very pleasant staff. Very dog friendly aswell which is a massive positive for us. Its maybe an idea to offer dog dinners? It's quite popular where we are from, and gives extra revenue for the business. thank you very much

Food was lovely, service not brilliant

We had a beautiful cream tea here yesterday afternoon with my aunt on her 80th birthday. Four cousins were joining us from Ireland as a surprise for my aunt but their flight had been delayed. Even though the tea rooms were closing the owners and staff went out of their way to accommodate us and allowed us that special time to celebrate. We will be forever grateful. The cream tea is by far the best I’ve ever eaten and the scones were absolutely delicious with just the right texture. The atmosphere and the setting was amazing and the mill wheel is the perfect backdrop for photos. And we also got to see the famous black swans just right outside their door. I’d highly recommend and will be sure to come back on our annual visit. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Just a fabulous experience all round. Wishing the owners continued success

Went today 9th May 2 jacket potatoes very nice tasty plenty of filling 1st young lady was not as pleasant as the lady serving but would return for sure good value meal.keep.up good work

Absolute Gem. We had 2 chicken and bacon mayo sandwiches and a tuna melt panini. The food was delicious , loads of filling in the sandwiches , with a nice salad and coleslaw on the side. Tea was nice and strong as we're the coffees. Very good value, and the staff were excellent, attentative and friendly. Will definitely return.

Had a late snack lunch here. The paninis were excellent as was the Cream tea for one. Would have given it 5 stars but the lunches were a bit of a long time coming as they were so busy. But all well worth waiting for. EVERYONE very helpful and cheerful.

While on a family holiday to Dawlish, we chose The Old Mill for our location for a Cream Tea. This beautiful tea room did not disappoint. Located in a beautiful setting with fantastic history, the food and service was faultless. The cream tea was truly delightful, warm fruit scone and the right amount of clotted cream and jam to get your teeth into. The first cream tea my husband has ever tried and although he preferred more savoury snacks he was left pleasantly surprised by how much he enjoyed it.

Visited with my family (large group). The ladies in the cafe couldn’t have accommodated us better. Fab service, amazing cheese scones and nice atmosphere in the cafe.

Dawlish was very busy managed to find this little gem. Very friendly lovely bone china tea cups made very welcome after the bad experience we had had 10 minutes earlier at le Cygne. Thank you will remember and return.

It’s a tradition to go here when in Dawlish and on this occasion we enjoyed hot chocolate/mocha and salted caramel cake. We had the tea room to ourselves, staff were polite and bathroom families were clean and tidy. An enjoyable experience as ever.

Our sandwiches were very generously filled and as such, good value. We had a spiced apple cake which was amazing. The old mill gears and machinery were very interesting and the owner started up the outside water wheel for us to see.

A friend and I chose to study at The Old Mill Tea Room this past Sunday, and it was exactly what we needed. The fantastic customer service, welcoming atmosphere, and local charm, we found ourselves in the perfect spot. We enjoyed some delicious hot drinks and gluten-free vegetable pasties, though they were the only option available – our mistake for not arriving earlier! My friend also wanted me to mention she was a huge fan of the Biscoff biscuits that came with our drinks (a welcomed surprise) and the stunning mill attached to the building, which allowed for a brief 5-minute study break to stare in awe (or procrastination). Thank you to the staff, and we're looking forward to our next visit.

One of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. Bread toasted perfectly, fillings generous and tasty. Lunched last month on holiday with 3 generations of the family. All enjoyed ourselves. Good food, good service, good surroundings, good value - Perfect. Thankyou.

Came in and my wife and I shared a ploughmans. We were going to have something after but found that there was ample on the plate to satisfy both of us. I could have eaten the lot but would have felt a pig! Nice and olde worlde inside if a little cramped. I have read some of the old reviews and it looks like they have taken on board some comments as we really liked it. Wish I had taken a couple of pictures.

The most amazing afternoon tea and friendly service! I can’t recommend this tea room highly enough. Everything here is just lovely. The warmest welcome for us and our two dogs, indulgent afternoon tea, sandwiches served on the most amazing fresh bread, home made scones and delicious cake. The owner is a pure delight and her sister had us in laughter. This place really made our day and we can’t wait to come back!

Loved this little rea room! Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Both the quiche and the club sandwich were really tasty. Only downside, hence only 4 stars, was that there was a long wait for the food as the cafe was very busy.

We had a lovely lunch sitting next to a working waterwheel, I had the quiche and salad which I enjoyed very much. The atmosphere and service were excellent- I will come again.

Stopped off for a cream tea and was not disappointed, everything about the cream tea was spot on especially the warm scones!! 👌 The staff were lovely and the young lad working there was so polite and well mannered. We only had one negative, they had run out of sausage rolls. This negative was instantly cancelled out when the lady behind the counter offered a cheese toasty as a replacement. The toasty was great and my son loved it. Very impressed a great afternoon tea, in a great setting. We would highly recommend it!! 👏

We popped in for lunch, but had various issues with our meal, all were mentioned at the time but met with very unfriendly responses. The quiche was ordered warm, but came cold as apparently they had to turn the oven off. Earl Grey tea was sent instead of normal tea, the toastie was missed, then came incorrect. The food was fresh and tasty but service needs improvement. Plenty of other tea rooms in dawlish for friendlier service to make it a better experience as a whole.

Our party was determined to experience a Devon cream tea and the Old Mill Tea Room really delivered. The environment was spotless , the staff welcoming and cheerful, and importantly for us, dogs were also welcome. The cream tea was a real delight and inevitably resulted in our requesting a bag to take home the final delicious cake that was beyond our capacity to consume. The scones were freshly baked and, when covered with the more than ample supply of jam and thick cream, enhanced the reputation of this Devon delight in general and the Old Mill Tea Room in particular.

We headed to the Old Mill on recommendation from the hosts at our B&B and we wasn't disappointed, Its a beautiful setting with lovely staff and a very decent Tea Room menu! My wife and I opted for both a Cheese Tea and the more traditional Cream Tea and shared both. Each of which was delicious and very much devoured!!!! Great value and very popular for good reason, the cakes looked amazing and a return visit at some point will have to be undertaken to enjoy those!

This is a charming cosy cafe with the workings of an old mill inside and a water wheel outside (which they kindly showed us running) right by the stream with the black swans in Dawlish. My Mum and myself visited twice on our holiday and both times were great. The food is lovely at reasonable prices and the staff / service just as good. We sat inside but there are tables outside some under cover if you prefer and because it’s to the side of the cafe there aren’t people walking past next to where you are sitting. I think this is the nicest cafe we have been, highly recommend if you are in the area

The Ploughman's was good, as was the sausage roll. Unfortunately, the scone was dry. The inside of had the original mill gears, which was interesting and was decorated nicely. However, the atmosphere was diminished by the loud staff.

Excellent food and service. Our party had one person with mobility issues, a gluten-free and a vegetarian. We were all catered for with lots of options. We sat outside by the water mill and enjoyed the sunshine with our two dogs. A big thumbs up 👍

Not been to Dawlish for many years but so well presented I was delighted to return.Tis cafe was simply lovely and the cappucino and service as good as it gets.As we say in Bristol ,'It was gert lush '.

Friendly welcome from the ladies behind the counter & it looked cosy inside. We sat outside as it was dry. We ordered the set menu cream tea (sandwich, scone/jam/cream, a homemade cake & coffee or tea. This was delicious, fresh, warm scones & great value....

Staff were lovely, however that’s where it ends, unfortunately. The coffee did not taste of coffee, the food had no taste and felt like it was bought in as cheaply as possible. My partner and I had the same meal (panini) and left feeling a little unwell in the stomach and weren’t full in the slightest. Location was also nice.

A great find, great atmosphere inside and out and quirky with the water wheel. Very friendly staff who were very pleasant. Happy to heat our daughters food (she is disabled so has to eat food we prepare). The food was fab, the club sandwich is a beast! Dogs are very welcome (ideal as we have three) with treats provided, prices are very reasonable. Highly Recommend.

Absolutely amazing find. We walked from teignmouth and stumbled upon the old mill tea room . All we wanted was a cream tea and it didn't disappoint. I am coeliac and they served the best homemade gluten free scone I have ever tried . They are so welcoming. We will definitely be back if in the area

Lovely quaint tea room. I came here for breakfast with my toddler. The manager was lovely and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely, perfect place to sit and watch the world (and ducks) go by. A little gem in beautiful Dawlish ♥️.
