The best restaurants in South East

Don't be put off by the drinks thing. This is a delightful and well-appointed cafe in what I imagine was (and still is) the local Post Office. We were greeted by a cheery lady who asked if we wanted the Post Office or breakfast! Imagine our surprise when she announced that full English is half-price for October weekdays. Well, that made choosing very easy and it was delicious and more than either of us could manage. Good coffee and friendly servers so an all-around 5* from us.

Absolutely incredible vegan food, delicious coffee and friendly, helpful staff. What more could you want?! Definitely worth a visit.

this place is amazing! the people who work here are amazing! the food is fantastic, I shop here all the time. love the uniqueness of the shop, the jewellery is fantastic and they make you feel like family. Well worth the visit 100/10 I'm a regular a reason. if your in overton you have to come here!

We hired The Bay Vegan Deli to cater for our wedding in September as it was really important to us that, not only was the food vegan, but that it was delicious and kept everyone full. It's safe to say Mel and her team blew us away with the incredible spread they put on. We were absolutely gobsmacked by the beautiful presentation, and all of our guests were wowed. Every single person we spoke to on the day (and since) complimented the food, saying it was absolutely delicious and they all went back for seconds (and some, thirds!) - what an amazing claim, considering the wedding of 50 guests had less than 5 vegans in attendance. Mel was professional, polite, calm, and just perfect to deal with from start to finish. Although she had another event to attend to after setting up, she left her very capable staff in charge of the buffet and they kept it topped up, tidy, and all cleaned down afterwards without a crumb left behind - the venue even complimented us the next day on how clean everything had been left! Lovely café. Freshly made paninis & baguettes to order. Fab coffee. Large portions of everything. Clean & fresh air. Such a lovely escape from the mall & great value too. Very impressed.

I’ve been here a few times and the quality is consistently excellent. They serve the nicest coffees in Canterbury by a long shot and their kimchi toastie is absolutely delicious. In addition I always receive very friendly and cheerful service.

Ordered salad boxes and jacket potatoes for our office lunch. Absolutely perfect. Both were delicious and received great feedback from staff. Every item was labelled with the name which made it so much easier giving out the food. Would definitely recommend if you want good food for the office lunch!

Exceptional sushi - the best that I have had in the UK. Personal favourites are the white tuna jalepeno roll and the ikra nigiri.

We visited Veeno today for lunch. We had the best meal and we’ll certainly be back. I can’t believe we haven’t discovered this gem before. We had garlic bread and pizza, both of which were the best we’ve ever tasted. They came with olive oil and balsamic dip which was gorgeous. They also gave us some truffle oil to dip the pizza crusts in which was soooo good and different. They had a huge selection of wines and their house red was delicious. I had to have a second glass 😋. Can’t wait to return to try more of their menu. Thank you for a fanatic relaxing lunch x

We were passing and subtly heard the 60s music so decided it was time for a coffee. A fun experience….lots of Bowie posters. Great music. Coffee and cake ( vegan) were excellent and service was friendly. When we return to Ventnor, we will certainly visit you again. Thank you.

I brought along a group of staff and students from Surrey Maths School for an informal social session, to help the students get to know one another and build their community. The Hideaway was perfect! We booked the meeting room so we had enough privacy but were also able to enjoy the lovely cafe area as well as the beautiful outdoor spaces. The food and drinks were delicious; several of the students discovered the smoothies and raved about them! The atmosphere was warm, friendly and welcoming, and we couldn't be happier that we chose The Hideaway for this important event in our school calendar. We will definitely be back & in the meantime, THANK YOU to Leah & the Hideaway team for making our afternoon so special.
