Had an absolutely incredible lunch today when I visited with a friend. I had an avocado salad which was so fresh and beautifully put together with a lovely dressing. We enjoyed a glass of rose which was ice cold and served up in a beautiful glass and then we had some cake which was perfection. A real afternoon treat!

Don’t bother visiting with a young child as you are likely to receive unsolicited judgemental parenting ‘advice’, they are not child friendly. I would have visited again on my own another time to have a proper look around as the shop looks interesting and has lovely trinkets for birthday/Christmas presents if it wasn’t for being made to feel so unwelcome as I had my child with me.

After a walk by the river, we bought some coffee to takeaway from this shop. Without doubt, some of the nicest coffee I have ever tasted, quite remarkable. Good value too. Use this shop, far too good to lose.

Cannot get enough of this brilliant courtyard retreat. The food is deliciously homemade, do try the Overton Applecake with whipped cream with cafetière coffee. There are always specials on the board which tempt you to try them all. Husband and wife team are such nice people. Added bonus there is an outside heater for these less than warm Autumn days. Sausage sandwiches Saturday’s.

Love, love, love this place for many, many reasons not least of all for the ever friendly and warm welcome you always receive from the owners Richard and Zoe. Whilst they have sadly had to close the shop and tea rooms temporarily during the Government enforced lockdown they are offering takeaway cakes, coffees, Judes ice cream etc. More importantly on Saturdays their legendary Sausage Sarnies are also available! The shop will re-open on 16th June with social distancing measures in place and I really hope they will be able to open the tea shop and their stunning patio garden very soon too! It really won’t be summer without a coffee and a bite to eat on that patio! In the meantime they now have an online shop on their website too. Take a look they never fail to have that special gift - even for the person who has everything! Overton Gallery rocks and if you are in the vicinity take a detour to their door...trust me you really won’t be disappointed!

We live in the next village and often walk (5.5 miles) or cycle and pop in for a coffee or if it’s Saturday then it has to be the famous sausage sandwich !!!!! when i say sandwich this really is a proper sandwich ......not a slice of cut name brand bread in sight ......bread from the local bakery cut like a door step and butchers sausage!!!! Just AMAZING ...lovely cafetière of coffee ..Family run and VERY friendly ....spotlessly clean and a very novel outside toilet with plenty to read on the walls .You can buy some very unusual good quality gifts too ..

A quick stop on our way home from a week in sunny Dorset. We enjoyed sitting out in the beautiful garden having lunch. The food was very good. We enjoyed the soup, toasties and pate. A bill of £60 was reasonable for six adults and two children. Well worth a visit and a mooch around the lovely gift shop.

We are regular visitors to this great place for gifts, cards, friendly service, coffees and food - the sausage sandwiches (available on Saturdays only) are fantastic! On a sunny day there is outside seating in the garden. Today we collected a watercolour that they had re-framed for us. It’s over 80 years old and when we originally took it in to discuss options they suggested we had it cleaned and we agreed - what a super job - the picture has really come to life - colours have appeared that originally were not there. Great advice given on the choice of frame (it’s perfect) and we are so, so pleased with the end result. The picture has always been very special to me for many, many reasons and now I have fallen in love with it all over again. Would highly recommend their framing service. Thank you so much!

The shop is like a Treasure Trove with so many lovely things - a perfect place to buy gifts. I had a very tasty slice of coffee cake and a generous Coffee for One in a cafetière. The customers next to my table had a very delicious looking apple pie or cake with cream. This was a ‘recce’ visit and as I’d said to the owner, I had intended to make a swift return visit, this time with company. My return visit has had to be postponed but I look forward to trying the apple pie/cake when I’m next in Overton.

This was a delightfully quintessential English 'tea shop' experience in a quiet corner to get away from it all, located on Overton High Street. A beautiful setting, warm and friendly hospitality, amazingly good food. No compromises, no corners cut. The cream tea was the best I've had in years (and the biggest)! No loud music or shouting Barristas serving endless pressing queues in the coffee chains either. This is a place you can really relax, enjoy the peace and let your mind wander in a very friendly, happy atmosphere. It's possibly the only place (including home with my young children now on holiday) where I've been able to read a book cover-to-cover without being disturbed once! 11 out of 10.

What a lovely place. The family who run it are extremely pleasant & welcoming. We were greeted by the son of the establishment in a very friendly manner which in today's world, where nobody seems to worry about customer service, made a refreshing change. Both the hot chocolate and the coffee we had were delicious, and were accompanied by a large scone with fresh cream and strawberry jam and a very healthy slice of Overton apple cake also with fresh cream: exquisite.

I had seen this on Tripadvisor and arrived there just before 2 pm for a light lunch with my elderly mum. The seating area is through the shop looking out to a courtyard, workshop and pretty private chapel (one of only a few in the village). The hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating and we enjoyed tasty toasted sandwiches and coffees - both served with a smile. A hidden gem.... worth a visit. I'm very jealous that mum has the Overton Gallery on her doorstep. I hope to return in the summer to sit in the sunny courtyard and see inside the chapel.

I cant believe I haven't reviewed this place before. It's a delight and the couple who own it, Richard and Zoe, are lovely. It's essentially a shop selling really nice art and gift stuff plus they offer a picture framing service, but they also have seating and serve the most lovely lunches and teas. Saturday mornings they also do sausage sarnies - fabulous! I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad plate from them and am always warmly welcomed. It gets busy so avoid the obvious times, or phone ahead! Not really suitable for wheelchairs or for small children though there is a highchair - I just think it's not somewhere where children can run around!!

Stopped off very quickly on way to destination looking for somewhere to eat. Place we always used closed down so went here. Coffee was good though not strong enough and for what they charged £5.40 for a cafetiere for 2 we go two tiny and I do mean tiny cups each. We ordered toasted sandwiches which cost £5.50 and £6.50 each. We thought we might have got a decent salad and crisps with it for the price but no. It was just a v small garnish and the toastie. Cheese was v. mild and could hardly taste it though the bread was excellent. I was going to have a slice of cake but at £3.95 thought better of it. We thought over £17.00 for coffee and two sandwiches extreme

We absolutely love everything about The Gallery. It is family business with an interesting concept - picture framing, gifts, cards, wrapping paper, handbags, scarves, jewellery, artwork and so much more along with a tea room all of which blend together so well - a mini emporium! They buy gifts with a range of prices so easy to find a treat to suit your budget. Really friendly but non intrusive service - they sourced a bracelet to match a necklace I had bought from them and it was absolutely perfect. I always spot things that I would like or the ideal gift for a friend. When Christmas draws near they always have seasonal items that seem to sell so fast so if you spot a sparkly bauble or an unusual gift you like buy it then and there otherwise you may be disappointed. Their Sausage sandwiches on Saturdays (available on Saturdays only all day until they run out!) for breakfast will see you through until dinner (locally sourced sausages and delicious locally baked bread both white and granary the latter of which is to die for) are the perfect start to our weekends with complimentary magazines and newspapers to read either in the sunny courtyard in the Summer, in the cosy conservatory on cooler days and in the cosy tea room with a real fire in the depths of Winter. So easy to relax and while away some chill out time at The Gallery. Seriously good cakes and absolutely huge scones and great coffee. They sell gift vouchers and I am always delighted to receive one as a present. I love the tinkle of the bell when you enter the shop - a reminder of times past but this is a truly modern experience....Open Tuesday to Sunday. Parking available in one of the village car parks or on the street outside but there is a time limit on street parking.

Lovely place, staff are very polite and professional. The food lets this place down. Really small portions for what you pay. The menu excites, but the execution is lacklustre. An improvement to the food could make this place so much more. I and my friends ride here on bikes 🏍. But we like and enjoy a really nice meal at our destination. Sadly this is not the case.
