Where to start! This experience delivered on every level.
We booked the Sunday package, an overnight stay in the Beautiful Mallard in Duck Terrace, dinner at the Coach, breakfast and lunch at The Hand & Flowers.
We arrived and were driven to our room, what a beautiful spot, everything you need & a hot tub. Just off the High Street so perfect location for a wander. Also nod to the driver who was an absolute gent!
We were booked into the Coach for 8:15pm and had the bar stools overlooking the kitchen/ pass & what a touch this was! In our opinion the perfect seats & the most amazing dining experience.
The staff were faultless, Matthew sorted us out with an exceptional bottle of wine based on our preference as to what we'd usually order & it didn't disappoint. A Norfolk wine and my new favourite!
Rich was on the pass and the interaction was spot on, great recommendations & a joy to watch the art of the craft in action- along with Zavo & Nico it was absolute perfection in the kitchen.
The food- where do I start? 8 small plates and when I thought the next couldn't be any better they just kept on coming & exceeded any expectations we'd had. It was lovely to be able to ask the gents what they liked & what the favourites are & the recommended dishes were on point!
I honestly wouldn't change a thing about our night at The Coach. The pirates are an absolute credit to the establishment & we are really grateful for the wonderful atmosphere they created.
The Hand & Flowers was also an absolute delight, breakfast was incredible, that bacon was without a doubt the best we've eaten!
Lunch was just gorgeous, I had the soup and the trout and I'd happily eat those every day!
Again the staff couldn't do enough, so attentive and welcoming!
If you read a bad review I honestly don't understand why, from arriving to leaving we have had the best experience & would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a treat!
The Coach you have our hearts, what a way to kick off our break and finish off my husbands birthday celebrations!
We haven’t been for a while but the £1 pizza offer drew us in.
It was very good value we chose the thin pizzas and paid a small supplement but well worth it….
Recommend. The lone waiter was friendly and b helpful.
Worse place ever in food industry specially Cod&chips, we went there staff so rude not trained well dirty uniform like never wash, hygiene system not as standard, they always use frozen chips in old dirty oil seems like they change oil once a year, tasteless fish, chips are very hard and taste like grease. Very disappointed not recommended at all so please avoid to go this place and save your money to spend somewhere nice where do you feel for best hygiene system and food standard.
Popped in here last night with my family for something to eat.
Great place to go.
The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.
The food was lovely, came out nicely presented and hot.
Lovely lively family and dog friendly pub,
Will definitely go back
Once shown to our table it was obvious the place wasn’t cleaned properly. My feet were sticking to tenge floor, the table wasn’t clean and neither were the surrounding ledges.
I ordered a bacon and cheese burger, which, when it arrived, was small and the burger was like eating a burnt brick, it must have been cooked for hours.
I was so disgusted that I asked the waiter to take it away and that I didn’t want a replacement.
I am 60 years old and this is the first time I have ever returned a meal.
My husband refused to pay for the meal although the waiter did try to charge us for half of it, even tough I had had about one mouthful.
Needless to say we will never visit this establishment again.
I got the breakfast, which was terrific. It was not too chock full of spices but still very flavourful. The dessert, particularly the milkcake, was delicious. I couldn't fault it at all. The only reason for knocking off a star is that the tea was awful. It was too sweet and without any 'karak' to it. The store was also too empty, which seems weird when you go in.
The worst indian meal I have ever eaten, no flavour most of the meal went in the bin, very disappointed, in the past we have been very happy with the Bay Leaf but think it is now run by different owners
