Karak Chaii in Wycombe

I got the breakfast, which was terrific. It was not too chock full of spices but still very flavourful. The dessert, particularly the milkcake, was delicious. I couldn't fault it at all. The only reason for knocking off a star is that the tea was awful. It was too sweet and without any 'karak' to it. The store was also too empty, which seems weird when you go in.

Gutted this place is temporarily closed, chaiwala is TERRIBLE in comparison. Karak chai never ever disappointed. I've tried chaiwala twice and will never go back

WHY IS THE CHAI SOUR?! I’ve tried this place twice now (a year apart) and the karak chai has been terrible twice!! First time it was cold and tasted very sour as if the milk had curdled or burnt against the pan and they just mixed it in which is silly. Second time was no better and to top it off I ordered a sweet paratha which was loaded with diabetes 🤣🤣🤣 AVOID!!

I had great experience at Karak chai today , I was served by girl with glasses ! She was so humble to me , I had a rough day so thought to get cup of tea but she changed my whole mood , she seems so hardworking , literally she was serving till and on tables too . Really love her attitude and thanks for day ♥️♥️

So where do I start….. the place looks pretty and the food was ok BUT, the staff are always miserable and rude. They always overcharge and never apologise for it, and whenever they have an offer on e.g, like today was supposed to be 20% off for holidays, but the girl said she can’t do it, as she’s not allowed, even though she said she’s aware of the offer, and it’s not the first time they’ve done that. I only go in as the options to eat out in Wycombe are very limited, and the food here is ok. But looking at the staffs behaviour and the way this place is run, I can’t see it remaining open for much longer. Also there’s not charging ports for working people or students who want to eat & catch up on work at the same time. I would say avoid this place .

Great spot to hangout with friends. Ambience is warm and welcoming with beautiful decors. Staffs are super friendly. I would say after a long time tasted a best tea away from home. Karak chai has got a unique flavour which wants us to come back again. Their samosa chat and chili chicken is so delicious and is properly fresh and hot. Wish them to keep up the same taste and friendly service.

A regular and happy customer here. Food is consistent, the shop is clean, and has great opening hours (late) which is perfect for those late night cravings or just to meet with friends and enjoy a Chaii. Very friendly staff and attentive to clients and also children. Recommend the samosa chaat, Desi breakfast, milk cakes (with karak coffee). Looking forward to dairy free drinks / options in future.

Most of these reviews are written by company’s family & friends, if you saw how empty the cafe is you’d understand why people avoid this place like the plague. First of all, they will display one price & charge another. When challenging the price, the woman tells me it’s a “typo” however they’re NOT ordering new menus. On top of that, they have a poster to advertise £5 desi breakfast but when you go to the counter they say this “doesn’t exist.” … confused why they have a poster up. They don’t have plug sockets for anyone wanting to work. Management do not care about good customer service hence why their competitors are always busy and they’re empty. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE UNLESS ORDERING ON UBER. Visit date Friday 1st December

I had previously visited the restaurant, and enjoyed the food, so decided to order via Deliveroo. We placed the order at 11.45,and were told via Deliveroo, it would be delivered at 12. Well, come 12.30, we still hadn't received it, so my friend called the restaurant. He was told that it would be with us shortly. Long and short....after 2 hours we still hadn't received it. I called back and was given some BS story about it being delivered elsewhere. We went to the house and no one was in so we had been lied to. The man on the phone was rude and aggressive.Eventually he hung up on me. He couldn't understand why I was angry that we hadn't received the food and kept blaming Deliveroo. Never again will I visit this restaurant. It's not cheap and they have no concept of customer service. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Had a pleasant experience, the staff was friendly and kindly suggested some things for us to eat given we don't often eat Indian street food. It was quite tasty and reasonable, wish I had taken pics!

We popped in for lunch and ordered three dishes to share: Samosa Chaat, Daal and Paratha and Bombay Tikka Sandwich. All three were absolutely gorgeous with seriously clever spicing that made each mouthful a delight. I tried rose ice cream afterwards which was equally delicious and a terrific pudding after the spice. I look forward to returning often, particularly when this lunch for two came to just over £17 and if anything we ordered too much. My only criticism is that a beer would be wonderful to go with this lovely food - if they would allow customers to bring their own if they don't want a licence, that would boost business without a doubt. I was sad that we were the only people in the restaurant when we visited at 12.45 on a Friday lunchtime. This restaurant deserves to be packed and to have people queuing to get in!

Do not come here if there are more than 2 people in the restaurant! Pathetic service, kitchen moves at a snail’s pace. Ordered and paid up front, else I’d have walked out 20 mins ago. Told there would be a 10 min wait for my order of 2 lunches and drinks and I’ve been waiting for 40 mins now with nothing on my table!

Ordered via deliveroo, taking over 1.5 hours to deliver. Driver waiting for the delivery at the shop for over 30 minutes. Poor service.

Order was so late. Rang and told its deliveroo but the driver had been waiting on them for ages. Then, waited even further until it finally arrived 2 hours after ordering. What makes it worse, we only ordered tea. Really bad service and appalling service when I rang them to chase the order. Not recommended and hope to save someone suffering in the future.

Just had lunch, 10/10, service was very friendly, speedy. Food was delicious, loved the paratha! Atmosphere, very nice and relaxed watching world go by, perfect lunch! Oh and prices very reasonable!

The food was good. The thali quantity seemed less but was good in taste. The chicken chilli topped on fries was really nice and the vada pav too with a nice masala chai. The paneer chilli was ok. Although the presentation of all items was good.

Such rude miserable staff.. i say staff but i stood in the store for 15minutes before someone decided to come out from the back if it wasnt for my child wanting it i would have left. Lady who i believe is manager did not even apologise for the wait.. after ordering my first item her reply was AND?? as if i was expected to be ordering more. Asked how long was told 5minutes ended up being 15minutes. There was no cutlery no napkins nothing in the order no apology or anything. Disgusting customer service honestly better off driving to slough atleast there staff make u feel comfortable. To top it off got home to find the food plain bland dry how can masala chips be so tasteless?

I really enjoyed the Karak chai and chilli chicken the first time I came here. But I returned for the second time and tried to biryani, Channa and paratha and bhel puri and mango lassi and I have to say the bhel puri was disappointing along with t the ‘raita’ for the biryani. The service was also very slow because they were understaffed and had many customers - we finished all our food then had to remind the guy at the till that we still haven’t received our drinks :(

Superb chai and very good food. However, the service is the best part - in particular, Onais and Akhil.

I will give Karak Chaii 5 Star because of the excellent service given to me by Onais Khan and Aleena. I had there pink tea which was very delicious and I would believe that all their other food is lovely too. I would recommend everyone to come here and try their food.

There is this new person who came and decided to make my order completely different that person should get out they made me such a bitter mango falooda and it taste like lots of salt with mango milk to be fair i always get it and it has never tasted bitter till today because of 1 person absolutely disgusting do not recommend the mango falooda

Lol They are making different type of teas.. some of them might be good as my friend took desi tea and he was saying GOOD BUT KASHMIRI TEA WAS REALLY BAD was literally like water with flavours and taste. And I asked them earlier to be tea like thick but it was like WATER.... Good place for party 🥳 but the Kashmir tea I had was literally rubbish.

Recently I went to this branch and thought it wasn’t going to be great, but I went there and a young man was at the front with a big smile which made me think maybe it won’t be that bad. Anyways I took my family with me ordered the food and everything was made to perfection that same young man delivered all the food and was very good as he engaged with all the customers in the restaurant

Rating is just for food, haven't had drinks. Couple of things are ok but most is not. Chilli chicken was really nice, good flavour and good heat but I only had 2 pieces of chicken and the rest was peppers and onions. Naan was good. Keema was horrible, was like having a teaspoon of spicy salt with every bite. Paratha was like eating oily glue. Butter chicken roll was ok but dry. Punjabi samosa had no taste and they were burnt. Daal was bland. Shame as I was looking forward to this, like the concept but execution is poor.

Classic desi breakfast, although their 'parathas' were nearer to a typical puri. The breakfast was filling for one person , not sure why I was told it's enough for two to share. Possibly needs an additional paratha. The Karak Chai was on point and no complaints about the taste or quality of the food. It is more of a modern style so if your expecting a bit more of traditional experience you may need to go elsewhere.

I live about 6 miles away Ordered halwa and paid extra for channa on both . I asked the server to check the order before I left and she told me it was complete . Got home and both breakfasts had no chana Complained but staff just said sorry you can drive back and collect

I have been literally going everyday since it opened. The customer service is amazing, the staff are so polite and friendly, specially lady on the evenings,always smiling & and even though I always go on closing time but she’s always well coming.It’s such a nice place to have a catch up with friends regardless the time of the day. For me customer service is the key to anything and they get top marks for that! Also the food is amazing!! Specially tea which I buy almost everyday!highwycombe really needed a place like this…

Finally proper Asian street food in High Wycombe! Every dish we ordered was amazing; chicken kebab roll, keema roll, vadapav, bhel puri, chilli chicken, mango falooda, rose and Karak coffee ice cream.The service was great. Definitely going to be my regular now.

The tea.. Milk tea with sugar tastes exactly as the ones I used to have back in India. Been there several times.. Never disappointed once.

Walked in, just to try as it looks nice from outside. Premises is clean and beautifully designed. Ordered some food on the menu plus a suggestion by the staff. I enjoyed the food. One thing to note, if you're not used of eating spicy food, you may find it challenging to eat like my daughter. As for me, it was enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The desserts we ordered were also divine! If you're visiting like us, or live nearby, try this place!

Wow! Really good food. I had the Punjabi Samosa Burger. The samosa had great filling, and had such perfect texture. Other big point: the chutney. That was definitely hand made and was a complimentary flavour.

Chai is really nice but with food portions, these are quite small for the price you pay. My husband ordered the keema, it was disappointing with the flavour, was cold, dry and no flavour, tasted like it was sitting there for some time, the pav bhaji was alright but again this was cold. Not good value price wise. The chai is the only drink I would go for if I was to go there again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they explain the menu and options really well and they are really friendly. The food was delicious and a good portion for the price, we had the Shakshuka breakfast. The decor might not be to everyone's taste, but is really smart and well done. Looking through the menu the prices overall looked very good as well. I will be going back to try more!

Wonderful food, staff and service.

Ordered shakshuka and roti and pink tea but very disappointing the roti was like solid crust and the shakshuka tastes nothing like shakshuka , it actually tasted like tomatoes only and generally like hard rubber , the portion was tiny considering it cost £7.50 and one egg which no effort was placed , they should leave the shakshuka to the Arabs , also ordered pink tea which was the only nice thing. Won’t be ordering again ..!
