The owner,Antonio,he treats his customers and employees poorly. He has no respect for anyone and that’s not the way people should be treated!

We thought the food and service was very good and value for money. We both had Lasagne which looked and tasted like home made. It was excellent and a good sized portion. The restaurant was clean and well presented. A good place to eat in High Wycombe. We will definitely go there again.

We were a table of 4 ! 2 adults, two children ! Firstly, we were not offered children’s menus! We ordered calamari as starters ! May as well bought a pack from Iceland and done ourselves ! Not fresh and just awful! Had 2 pieces and left it all ! Waiter asked if we didn’t like it ? I said it’s frozen ! She then put her finger in it to see if it was frozen ! 🤣 I said it’s cooked from frozen it’s not fresh ! Ordered 3 carbonara’s and a tiger prawn linguine! Didn’t hold up much hope with the prawns being fresh of the calamari wasn’t 🤷‍♀️ mains came all adult portions ! Waitress didn’t think to do kids portions ! Maybe my fault for not asking for kids portions ! Thought it would be common sense having 2 kids but 🤷‍♀️ too much pepper on carbonara ! Kids didn’t eat it ! My prawns were as I thought they be ! Floury as frozen not fresh ! The deserts were equally bad ! Stale old drizzle cake and old fudge cake ! God j owe how long they have had that lurking about in fridge. Anyway is what it is ! Paid and left but won’t be going back 👎👎👎👎

A lovely independent cafe/restaurant with lots of seating inside and out right in the centre of the town. Great for a quick snack or delicious coffee and pastry/ cake or fantastic freshly made authentic pizza and pasta dishes. Generous portions and friendly service make it a great place to take the kids for lunch or for an evening celebration with friends. Wycombe needs nice restaurants like this. 👍

We came to Roberto's as a group of 14 people. Zeinab has been incredibly kind and patient with us despite the large amount of people. We loved the the service, food and atmosphere.

I was compelled to write a review as Roberto's is a special place for me and my family. Shortly after moving to High Wycombe Roberto's, this venue became our must go to restaurant in the area. Roberto's has a great selection of pasta dishes and whilst my daughter has NEVER ordered anything other than the Salmon Tagliatelle I have vowed to work through the menu choices, and I have never been disappointed. The service level has never let us down, a friendly smile, short interaction without it being too intrusive. The chef also has an amazing pleasant demeanor and shy to compliments. Beatriz the manager is attentive and responsive. The quality of food has never let us down whether it has been lunch or dinner. I have not tried lunch but I will commit to a breakfast visit soon....

Based on our experience I would say this is the best restaurant in High Wycombe, though the choice is pretty limited. The welcome was warm and friendly, the service excellent though it was not that busy and the food, nicely home cooked and very much local Italian food. The desert menu was limited as most of the items were not available. The restaurant could also have done with being a bit warmer on such a cold night. Overall we enjoyed and meal and experience there.

My friends and I went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration, there were several children and adults in the group of nearly 20 people. The servers were polite and greeted us with a smile, and while it took some time because the server was new, we did all get served in a timely manner. The food could have been better since my eggs were still raw on top and the tomatoes were undercooked, but overall lovely food. The disappointment in the atmosphere was with the manager/boss, who behaved unprofessionally by not providing assistance to a new starter with a large group, and berating said new starter in front of all the customers. I feel sorry for the servers if this is normal practice. Also to note, is that service charge is added to the bill but noted at the bottom that service is not included, so this raises questions about whether the servers recieve the service charge.

Went for a work Christmas lunch. Owner agreed we could dine from the set menu, having 2 or 3 courses or pick from the main menu. They proceeded to charge everyone for a three course set menu. Very rude when challenged in this, intimidating to women and insisted we pay. We therefore eloped the service charge and he was again intimidating us and insisting we pay, which we refused. He called us cheap! Awful man, rip you off and ride, avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

When the food finally arrived (40 mins for the starter) the calamari tasted like it had been cooked in pizza dough rather than batter it was vile. We sent it back and asked for the mains and side of bread to come asap as we had now been there nearly an hour and hadn’t eaten. One main came out and then the second main and side I had to chase whilst they served other tables. Drinks orders were wrong twice Bill was incorrect Service was rude and dismissive Not even an apology when I raised how disappointed we were. I paid £45 for a couple of drinks, a prawn salad, (which had 2 x slices of tomatoes and a hand full of lettuce, a child’s portion pasta dish (elderly mum doesn’t eat much) and small garlic bread). We are regulars at Cafe Roberto. The owners, staff, and food is exceptional!! If you want delicious, authentic, fresh food, you can’t beat Cafe Roberto!!

A lovely place to eat and very attentive staff

Came for a birthday meal before the theatre and we can’t fault their service. Zaneb gave us attentive service and went above and beyond. The other lady serving was super polite too, she had short blonde hair. Food came out quickly and delicious. Definitely gained four customers! Thank you!

I usually have my coffee at Roberto in town. I was happy because, for the first time, there was a friendly and attentive staff member. But when I went there this afternoon, I didn’t see her. She had short blonde hair. They told me she had left. The other staff are good too, but this really ruined the vibe. Such a big loss for the café!

My in laws , like to go here when the go into Wycombe , they don’t go very often as they are in there 90s year !! Sadly we went in on Saturday and the service was quite appalling , it took absolutely ages , nearly and hour for our food to arrive , we had to ask a couple of times how long it would be and the blonde haired member of staff was downright rude . My in laws were very disappointed and we won’t be going back

They underpay all of their workers here, management is awful. You should feel bad for all of the workers there as they are all taken advantage of

We’ve now been to this restaurant twice for a pre theatre meal, always booking in advance to let them know we were on a time schedule. The service is friendly and we’ve enjoyed items from the pizza, pasta and main/meat menus. Portions are large but doggy bags are offered! The restaurant has far more character than most of the local chains and we look forward to returning.

No matter how many times we have been there, I can't complain about the staff Dan, but Zineb always interferes with the staff and complicates the orders. Many people around me complain about this situation. We don't want to come just because of this lady Dan. It's so annoying!

Visited for lunch with our 2 year old. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with our little one. Reasonably priced and good portions. Will definitely return.

The place is very nice, but the employees, especially the person named Zineb, spoke in a very disturbing manner every time we went, we do not want to sit there just because of this person. I heard that many people have experienced this, I recommend that the owner of the company find a solution for this employee.

The atmosphere was only marked down because not enough people use it and opt for fake Italians like pizza express and Zizzi. Staff were friendly at attentive. Zanab (I think) couldn't do enough for us.

It was definitely the joke of the year! No apologies for delay and they had the face to charge for a full price for this miserable service and food including a side dish of fries which never arrived at our table . AVOID IT at all costs! You may be wondering why we didn’t stood up and leave… when we had a small child with us longing to have his dinner otherwise I would definitely be out of the door ! Honestly this place should not be running at all such a waste and disrespectful to clients.

Went there for a quick coffee and slice of cake, ended up waiting about half an hour for our order, which was most likely forgotten about, to arrive. The service was slow and staff were forgetful and unpleasant. It was a highly uninviting atmosphere. Overall, the long-awaited cake was mediocre and the experience was disappointing.

Really good pizza, late lunch so very empty

It was good restaurant with really good taste, everything was perfect cooked and you felt someone whos preper this food done it with love to cook BUT NOT anymore... today ms food was with no good taste absolutely it was taste like someone done it as quick as he could... one of worse food i have ate... and portion was enough for children, unfortunately I'm not going back to eat in cafe Roberto...

The food was of much lower quality than before... unfortunately, it did not taste as good as the restaurant presented in February this year. We are very disappointed. It felt as if the person preparing the food was in a hurry to get home as quickly as possible and made dishes out of paper... unfortunately the food was not good and in portions suitable for small children.

First time here after walking past many times. Had a great meal, tried both kinds of calamari. Both good but the grilled with tomato sauce is excellent! Happy to see there were mocktails and mine was really nice. We each tried pasta and both the carbonara and Paccheri Chiccherichi were delicious! Highly recommend.

If it wasn't because of the hospitality I would have given it a 5*. The guy at the till was very good but the lady serving even though friendly she did take a long time to serve and did not seem that worried. The drinks and food is superb for the price. Lovely place which does not charge table service and has a good menu with different choices to choose from. Has space inside and outside when it is nice weather.

Our first visit and we were not impressed. Waited nearly an hour for our food. Brunch turned into lunch.!Decided to leave and then it arrived. All they did was take a coffee off the bill. They couldn't even explain why they made such a mess of things.

Cafe Roberto is a really nice place to go. Coffee and cake or something from the oven that they can bake. Create an atmosphere where it's nice to sit outside and even have a cocktail or beer.

The food Is frozen food he just quickly fries from Tesco, it is undercooked and comes raw. The owner was rude and was swearing and being vulgar in the restaurant . The location has a lot of congestion and noise causing for a very hectic experience. Would it recommend.

Today I was at Café Robertos and the truth is they changed the menu. It's not a bad change for the better, but when it's for the worse, nothing to do with it, the meat had a lot of sauce and the owner of the restaurant kept insulting the waiters all the time, and I also know that this Sir, he doesn't pay them their full salary, he gives them little by little, he is a freeloader of these people who need the job. Today when I saw how he insulted the waiter for anything, I felt very sorry for all the employees. I hope they get a better job

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit. My experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered two lattes and had to wait for 20 minutes before asking the staff about the status of our order. Even after the long wait, the coffee was served without sugar and tasted terrible. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly rude, especially the older lady who was working there. Her behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Horrible!!!!!! I don't recommend to anyone to visit this cafe.

Food was delicious and from the moment we entered we were given fantastic customer services. Food was at the perfect price point and I can't wait for the next time we come back! Highly recommend!

Asked for an ice coffee, they didnt have any ice so i asked for a flat white instead. Traditionally a flat white is a strong coffee with milk served in a small cup - it was served in a giant cup of milk with little to no coffee taste at all. Our food came a good 5 mins before our drinks and also without any cutlery that we had to ask for as we were sat looking awkwardly at our food. Young in experienced waiting staff. I ordered the eggs benedict with “crispy” bacon - bacon was cold and fatty and plate swimming in oil. The toasted English Muffin was barely toasted and it was a sweet brioche bread - not what was described on the menu. My partner ordered a full english that was swimming in grease and sausages were barely cooked. It was just all absolutely horrible and will never ever be going back. Avoid for breakfast. The only saving grace is its a warm day and the terrace area is a nice place to sit. But i would only go and buy a drink out of a can or bottle.

Love this place and have been four times now. Good value and quality food, excellent service. What's not like and I'm fussy.

Have been here a couple times now, and we do keep going back. It's a nice alternative to a chain like Costa/Starbucks/BlackSheep in the Eden Centre. There is some outside seating which is lovely in the summer with some smoking seating at the end. This is unfortunate if there is a breeze however as it floats across the nearby tables. There is a ramp up to the smoking area outside which is helpful if you need a wheelchair, but the tables are a little close together for navigating too far into the cafe. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty, with many cakes on display it was difficult to exercise restraint! The air conditioning inside could be cooler, especially on those hot days, but is serviceable. Staff are lovely, there have been a couple new hires whose first language is English although some others struggle to understand what you want, pointing to the menu helps.

Another excellent meal. Roberto's deserves to be busy for dinner - the chef is obviously a truly authentic Italian chef (please trust me; I know chefs across Europe). I noticed some reviews about the speed of delivery - this is because it's definitely not a fast food pretend Italian; this cuisine is prepared properly, which takes time!Front of the house (n.b. Anna) is so welcoming and works hard at hospitality. If you haven't yet visited please do.

Café Roberto has a lovely atmosphere, is well staffed and has a superb menu. The dishes served are top quality, presented well, pleasing to see and delicious to taste. The price is right with the generous servings. Well staffed, and the waiting staff generally efficient.

My previous post was deleted. I am hoping this one doesn’t also get deleted. As previously stated the waiters looked to be doing the best they could with what seemed to be a poorly managed business. someone (who clearly was in charge given that my earlier post was deleted) spent a good few minutes on the morning that i visited the cafe berating and scolding an employee for being three minutes late. it seemed very excessive and created an awful atmosphere for my party and everyone else who over heard the exchange. i don’t appreciate my review being deleted. it was an honest customer experience and deleting it hints at a dishonest business model.

Ordered a chicken and bacon salad which came and the tomatoes were unwashed still with soil, the waitress brought the salad the chef only removed the tomatoes and replaced them with cherry tomatoes, but the rest of the salad remind the same. I asked for a new salad as they should have asked me in the first place if I would like them to make a fresh one rather then living me the contaminated one, 3th time they brought the salad with the unwashed tomatoes from the 1st salad. The manager brought the salad to me trying to convince me that the soil is a salad dressing, however, forgot to mention that they actually forgot the dressing! The place was great when they opened, but gradually is going downhill.

Over cooked. Eggs, sausage and bacon. Oily mushrooms, cold toast. Too much Salmon covered in olive oil. Disappointing.

Had a lovely hot chocolate with an almond croissant this morning. The staff were polite and attentive, the hot chocolate was really nice. Sadly the croissant was stale and reheated, very rubbery and hard to cut with a knife and fork. I've eaten fresh croissants in other cafes and restaurants and they were so yummy, so this was a real let down. I'm surprised they don't have daily delivery of fresh croissants like many cafes I've been to b4

the service was bad, the food came very late. we ordered lasagna and it was too doughy and did not taste good. when we asked for the bill they kept bombarding us with questions about why we didn’t enjoy it. we still had to pay full price.

A friend and I spent another lovely evening at Roberto's. It was such a warm evening that we sat on the terrace for dinner. There was a lovely atmosphere with everyone enjoying food, wine & warmth! We had great service from the always smiling Zainab! Nothing is ever too much trouble. Highlights of this particular meal were a goats cheese starter and a delicious saltimbocca. And of course the house rose! We will be back again soon!!!

It was a lovely place. The staff were welcoming. Drinks were nice but the food took a long time think because there was only one chef on at the time. Food was very nice and filling though.

Ok but we felt like we were being kicked out. We had not finished our drinks and the bill came. We said we didn't ask for it and we were still enjoying our time. The lady asked if we wanted anything else and we didn't so she said we can pay then. The place was not busy and we were not there for a long time. I don't think it was more than 30 min. If they had people running away and trying to cover themselves we would have understood but no info was given. We honestly felt like we were asked to leave so they can make room for others

Seems to be going downhill in customer service and quality. Some of the items tasted bland and unfrozen.

Food was decent and well presented, mum was very happy with her lamb dish. But the service received from the waitstaff was too inconsistent to be considered good. Whilst one waitress was trying their best and was lovely, the rest of the wait team let the side down. We had to ask three times for the same thing, had to find a waiter to get cutlery after the food had been brought to us, plus there was an argument between the waiter and the chef - unfortunately we were sat by the kitchen and it just ruined the vibe. We didn’t leave a tip for reasons including the above. The waiter made asked why and when told the service wasn’t good made a fuss about it whilst we were still there adding to the perception of not great service. Disappointing experience this time around - there really wasn’t and excuse for the lack of attentiveness. The place wasn’t busy and didn’t seem understaffed.

The experience was quite stressful - it was really challenging to communicate with the servers and they brought out the wrong items a few times. They also charged us extra for items that should have come as part of the meal. Lastly, I wasn't really impressed with the size of portions (should have had at least 2 hash browns with the vegetarian breakfast) relative to the price. I won't be returning for a full breakfast again, maybe just a coffee.

We didn't get our food..the place was greatly under staffed despite the restaurant not being busy..they just didn't seem.to cope and we had to leave for the theatre. I did feel sorry for them. But it needs to be addressed. Then we were charged for a bottle of wine we didn't have. Wasn't the best experience by a long shot.

Been to Roberto's a couple of times and both times it has been lovely! If you are looking for freshly made food served with a smile this is the place for you. The portion sizes are great as well. I look forward to our next visit!

My friend and I came here with our 2 young kids a few weeks ago and the service was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble even when they moved all the candles and glasses from our section of the restaurant so the boys didn't break anything! A big thank you to them for their kindness and wonderful service.The food and the atmosphere was great and I look forward to coming back.
