Goodbye to the worst Italian restaurant I have ever visited. Two years ago it was a great venue. Two weeks ago it was a disaster. A waitress was spraying chemicals everywhere while I was eating. Before I had finished my main course a waiter started sweeping beneath my table. He then told me that if I wanted a dessert I was too late because they were closing. When I entered the restaurant my greeting was : 'We close at nine, so you need to get a move on'. Other diners were receiving the same treatment, and in 20 years of eating out I have never witnessed such unprofessional behaviour from staff. Today it closed permanently, and good riddance to it.

We were on our way in when one of our group had an accident. We cannot get over the help we were given by the landlord and landlady they looked after us for about 3 hours until the ambulance came . We were also so touched that a passing couple of doctors who also helped us were offered drinks , for their trouble, by the landlord. What a kind gesture. Sadly we can’t leave a review of the facilities except the toilets which were so quirky and fun.

Even though breakfast and dinner was part of our plan for an extended business stay, after dinning a few times and trying numerous items, we chose to go into town and pay to dine elsewhere. We are very budget consequence, to not eat a free meal and purchase food elsewhere says a lot about how disappointed we were with the food. The quality of ingredients was poor and there was a holistic lack of flavor. At times the food at dinner was presented well, picture perfect; however, the meat would be over cooked, the food was poorly seasoned, the soups were literally the worst soups I have ever eaten in my life. That says a lot as I do not think I have ever had a soup I did not like before trying the soups here. Breakfast consisted of traditional English breakfast using poor quality ingredients, runny yogurt, fruit from tins and lots of processed breads and cheap baked items. They did have a few small containers of nuts that you could use as a topping for the yogurt or your cereal. Service was slow, our tea/coffee would come out after we had finished our meal. The one strong positive thing that I can write is that they genuinely seemed to care if people had allergies to any ingredients on their menu. The staff tried but they were mostly young and poorly trained.

Service gone downhill. Dont clean the tables or remove dirty cups promptly. They dont bring your order to table, no service, very poor. Cups of coffee have shrunk in size. Will not have coffee there again. However purchased a loaf of bread which was excellent.

Don’t waste your money. A couple of times now our food has arrived cold, soggy batter on the fish and onion rings, limp wet salad and an awful tasting burger. I received a phone call from someone who works there asking why I left a bad review on their website, so told them the reason why. The guy then got very rude with me and told me if I don’t like the food then go elsewhere which I now intend to do. Very poor customer service.

TA is so useful, if you read between the lines, gives an idea from best to worst reviews. Categorically, cannot recommend Dim T in Winchester. The food is "edible" but by no means warrants spending your hard-earned. There were only three other tables occupied when we visited, 4 waiting staff and still, the service was shocking. One perfectly pleasant, older lady, a youngster and "I surmise", a husband & wife team? "The wife" certainly needs re-training in customer service, may be a bad day, who knows? Winchester is such a beautiful city, with many wonderful eating places, just not here!

Our family just love Reeves and we have been loyal customers for decades. I’m leaving this review just to say that for the first time this Xmas we were somewhat disappointed with the mince pies. Although they had a lovely flavour and were nicely full, the pastry appeared underbaked (especially the bottom) and it was impossible to remove the pie from the silver foil base cleanly, as each time, the pie just was too weak and crumbled all over the place. Half the base would just break away be stuck to the foil which was really frustrating as we have never encountered this before with any other mince pies. It real gave the impression that the pies were undercooked which left the pastry weak. Please could someone look at this issue ready for next year! We of course will remain loyal customers as the staff are great.

I’m a regular Caffè Nero customer across the UK, but unfortunately, this branch in Winchester was a disappointment. The place didn’t feel clean, and the staff weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming. I didn’t feel comfortable during my visit. The coffee was okay, but the overall atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Definitely not up to the usual Nero standards I’m used to

A perfect spot for a leisurely lunch. In fairness, this hotel has been part of my family's celebrations, gatherings, weddings etc (through multiple hotel owners and chains) since about 1973. We keep coming back. Excellent staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Sunday lunch 12MAY2024.

Amazing place for a drink or a spot of lunch. Terri and Jess on the bar are so welcoming and check to make sure everything is ok. The food is amazing as always and you need to try the onion rings. The history of the pub and the decor inside is beautiful
