Caffe Nero Winchester Official Team in Winchester

I've always been fond of this cafe for its friendly staff, great atmosphere, and good coffee. However, it's starting to look a bit worn and lacks the classic Nero vibe. The absence of music and the presence of tired, stained furniture are noticeable. Investing a bit of money into sprucing up the place would make a huge difference. It's not the staff's fault, though.

I recently visited this coffee shop and was impressed by its ambiance and overall atmosphere. However, I was concerned about the policy allowing dogs to sit on sofas or chairs. This could pose issues for patrons with allergies or those uncomfortable with potential hygiene issues. It's downright disgusting to think about the dirt and allergens these pets might leave behind, creating discomfort for subsequent customers who have to sit on those surfaces. It would be beneficial for the management to consider implementing measures to accommodate all customers while maintaining a pet-friendly environment.

Well unfortunately I have to go out my way to wright this. I only do so as i believe the manager deserves to know that they have employed a rude, ignorant and selfish member of staff. I do not know the name of the member but they had bright red hair. I couldn’t tell if they were male or female tho, they had a slim weak build and about 5ft 5. This person was laughing at me behind my back and was throwing my food around like it was a joke. They didn’t say please, thank you etc and we’re on their phone the entire time. I’m 68 years old and love going to Cafe Neuro but I will never return again. I will be telling everyone at my members club to avoid using them as well. Thank you red head thing.

Very friendly staff and customers, fair prices and delicious coffee and cakes.

Lovely and spacious with comfortable settee’s (if you can bag one) Very light and bright with an interesting ceiling with skylights. The coffee was up to standard and the staff were nice and friendly.

Top class service despite being really busy on a Sunday afternoon. Loved their coffee. Well done to staff working today. Keep it up 👏

Called in around 1400 place was not busy but nearly every table had dirty cups , trays etc with no attempt to clear Asked for tea for one …….got a mug of tea so full ,hardly room for milk…… A mug for Tea !!!!! Should be a pot with a cup and saucer!! Will not be returning A poor advert for Winchester and its declining shops!

Staff friendly and choice of cakes ect could do with a face lift

Thank you for being the only dog friendly coffee shop we could find on the high street! Really good coffee, with friendly service. And even gave our dog a treat too!

Really lovely friendly staff, generous drink sizes and a large seating area at the back. A good selection of fresh pastries and doughnuts. Overall a nice place to go for a sit down coffee!

Good café Nero, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is clean and then tend to have all options for drinks and food available. However one gripe I have is that they regularly forget to add the 'gold stamp' for using your own cup. Whilst obviously not a big deal, but if they find a way to encourage patrons to bring their own cup is to offer getting a free coffee twice as quick, then I would hope that this is remembered by staff, however there have been many occasions over the last year where this hasn't happened. A gentle reminder to the staff would be greatly appreciated.

Went to buy a lemon meringue , they charge £3:90 for a piece of meringue, not much bigger than a stick of KitKat 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️absolutely daylight robbery at its best !!!

Most horrible cafe I've ever been to.Very poorly organised service, I spend there 40 minutes waiting to be served, one person was making drinks and at the till, the other 2 ladies pretending to be busy but basically doing nothing. I could not belive my eyes, this place needs a proper management, not mention the fact of dirty tables and filthy toilets. Avoid this place!

Everything was good apart from the toilets wasn't very nice to use

Don't let the long queue fool you as 1, very quick service, and 2, there was plenty of seating at the back.

Just had coffee but it was good.

Really nice branch, however the staff didn't really have proper training. Ordered the new Panettone Latte to give it a try. However it looked nothing like on the picture - no cream, no sprinkles, no syrup - I was given literally plain latte which I simply overpaid. It was take away so I found out late so couldn't really swap for new one or get refund. Such a shame.

Yay! A dog friendly cafe! With doggy treats for my best mate, Reggie. Had a lovely skinny atte and a pork and pancetta sausage roll (highly recommended). Come on in and warm up from the cold winter mornings. Welcomed warmly and Reggie got some love from the staff too.

Poor quality drinks. Not like other Neros. Staff didn't even wanted to replace drinks.

A pretty basic cafe environment (aren't they all). Cakes seem a little expensive (don't they all). Not all bad. 😐

I purchased a focaccio, a slice of lemon meringue cheesecake, and a large latte. The service was swift, bearing in mind that there was a queue to the door. However, I was treated courteously. The environment was good for those people who were in groups or who had arrived as individuals (I fell into the latter category). I felt quite at ease reading a book whilst passing the odd comment with fellow customers.

Nice large coffee and buzzy atmosphere. Sorry to say place badly let down by grubby serving tray, dirty spoons and cleanliness of toilets with filthy overflowing bin and member of staffs dismissive attitude when told about it.

Good drinks. Can't fault it and it has nice chairs and tables.

This place is filthy. The floors were dirty and hadn’t been swept in who knows how long. They gave us glasses that were greasy and murky. You could literally wipe the dirt off them with your finger. Asked for replacement - only gave us one. Chairs and tables old and worn, sticky and dirty.

In really early, really nice staff….great bacon sandwich that ticked the boxes. Lots of better independent places to go in Winchester but this hits the spot when you want an early or quick no fuss coffee some convenient.

So slow 🐌 😴 the girl who was serving us went to lunch halfway through our order, so we got the coffee but not the food. Had to go back to get the food, and it was cold.😖 lots of cup's all over the tables, not the best nero I've been to.

Unfortunately the attitude of the young 'coffee maker' was appalling. Not everyone wants fancy crafted coffee, an almost alien concept to someone so complacent. I considered her just plain rude and might need a training course on customer service and manner's. Milk jugs were filthy too, covered in crud around the top. Maybe I should have returned them for clean ones but did not want another interaction with said coffee maker. Maybe a washing up course could be added

The girl who served us was rude ( the one with long, dark, unwashed hair), kept giving my mum dirty looks over confusion on an order. She didn't know how to make a normal tea or understand what a white coffee was either. When I got my milk, the milk jug was dirty with black bits floating in it. Coffee was nice atleast.

This is just about the dirtyest cafe I've been in for a long time. The trays floors, toilet and general surfaces. We'd bought our coffee before I really noticed. I'm surprised it hasn't been closed.

Filthy, absolutely filthy. In the time I was there (three hours, working), not a single table was wiped down, and the toilets have to be seen to be believed. Friendly staff, just more interested in chatting between themselves than serving customers.

5/5 — the staff are really kind and the vibe is really chilled out and relaxed. The food is really great and the coffees never disappoint. Defo recommend coming!

Coffee was great and fantastic staff member. Sorry no name but had blue/green hair. Best cortado my husband has had. And my cappuccino perfect.

Clearly all is not well at Caffè Nero Winchester…… Being regular users of this coffee shop, we were appalled at the lack of staff today. One person serving and a queue out of the door! We waited twenty minutes to be served and I ended up with half a latte that was Luke warm. We also purchased a chocolate muffin and when I said it was eat in I was advised that the shop was closing shortly. The time was 12:55 lunchtime!!! Come on Nero surely you can do better than this?????

Not the usual high standard we have come to expect from Neros in Winchester today. Only a trainee barista holding the fort over lunchtime with a queue to the door. She was doing a sterling job. Can only assume other staff were off sick.

Slow service (barista was too busy chatting to her friend), and queue led to the door. Dismissive behaviour from staff and quite rude to my partner when she asked about allergens. Barista looked surprised when I asked for a fork with the cake I ordered. Nondescript lumps in my coffee too (maybe the milk was old?). One to avoid for sure.

We usually have morning coffee here when visiting Winchester. Coffee at our hotel for breakfast is not of the best so we make sure to get a decent coffee before heading out for the day.

Toilets were absolutely filthy and far from acceptable for an eatery. I would never visit this coffee shop again

We were sightseeing in Winchester with friends and fancied a coffee stop. We got our coffees quickly and sat at a table. I was immediately aware of how scruffy it was, with napkins and spilled drinks on the floor. There was a container of cleaning equipment pitched on a dividing screen about half-way down the shop. When I visited the toilet, I knew it was time to leave - most of the floor was wet (not with water), the bin beside the WC was covered in rust spots (presumably from urine splashes) and the toilet brush in its holder was nothing short of a disgusting health hazard. At one point, there were 5 people behind the counter serving just 2 people but clearly none were trained, or cared about basic hygiene. We mentioned the toilet to one of the staff when leaving and we said he hadn't been in there for about an hour. I pointed out it hadn't got in to that state in an hour. I also mentioned the state of the bin and toilet brush and he said he had been trying to get them changed. There are many good quality independent and chain coffee shops in Winchester. Don't make the mistake of visiting this one which in no way reflects the quality of most establishments in this fabulous city.

The best coffee/food place for the price. We always use this place when we visit Winchester - really good coffee and some very tasty food and the staff are always good - look forward to our next visit

I enjoy going to Caffe Nero in Winchester. The coffee is fantastic as always in a Nero. The team in are lovely and friendly. Had one of the pork and pancetta sausage rolls which was lovely to go with my flat white.

Caffè Nero is an excellent coffee shop and the batista really listen to your requirements

We walked in 15 minutes before closing time to get some hot chocolate. I was very pleasantly surprised (expecting a grumpy welcome as we were literally the last customers) as the barista was absolutely marvellous! He made my hot chocolate wonderfully delicious. One thing is to serve beverages, another - do it with a smile! That set me up positively for the whole trip as we are starting the SDW tomorrow! Thank you so much 😊🙏

Five of us went to Caffe Nero for coffee and a snack. They were very busy but did not have to wait long. Coffee and the service were both good.

Plenty of seating, and service is quick too. They also have a variety of options for drinks, including some unique flavours I've never seen before anywhere else, like 'Salted Caramel & Pistachio'.
