We had a wonderful meal at the laughing fish for mother's day. The pub is cosy and has a great atmosphere with outdoor seating for the sunny weather. The staff were welcoming and friendly with brilliant service. The food was amazing with a very varied menu with lots of choices! We can't wait to return to try the Thai menu which looks delicious! Thanks for having us 😊

Interesting experience. Arrived at opening. Busy gentleman filling drinks fridge. Friendly lady finally appeared and engaged immediately. Small pub with some superb decor, lots of great beams and similar decoration. Shortish lunch menu but enough choices for picky me! Starter was a mint and soy lamb rib with smashed cucumber dressing and a kick of something spicy. Main was a pollo milanese that I asked not to include the cheese. Nicely cooked and presented with a lovely tomato based sauce and a mountain of rabbit food! Dessert was a chocolate heavy dessert with raspberry gel and a nice raspberry sorbet. Venue has real character and the waitress was genuinely engaged in her work. Toilet is functional bearing in mind the age. Nice food and waitress.

Lovely venue that we’ve visited before. Service was friendly but a little tardy. Most of the food was excellent, carefully prepared and presented, and delicious. The cote de boeuf (800gm) that two of us shared was, however, very disappointing. Carved in the kitchen onto a cold serving platter it arrived at the table scarcely more than lukewarm. Cold dinner plates sucked any remaining warmth out. The meat itself was as tough as old boots, and the amount of gristle meant that a good proportion was inedible.

The food and service in this restaurant was really good. The restaurant was nicely lit with comfortable seating and good space between the tables. The staff were attentive and polite with a friendly attitude, that made it a pleasant experience to Injoy the wonderful authentic food that offer. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant.

We went back to this fav pub for a meal and it once again did not fail. Probably the best garlic bread with cheese I've ever had. Portion sizes were good and value for money, the staff were amazing and helpful. There is a wide variety on the menu with some cheeky special. I tried the pulled part burger which was amazing. Definitely well worth a visit.

We came here on a Friday night (we had booked) with friends and it was lovely to see the restaurant busy! Food was delicious, fresh, hot and authentically Italian. This was my second time in here since the new owners and it certainly won’t be my last! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Visited for the ice cream -Latchetts gelato (saw the strange flavours on TV). £4.90 for a double tub with wafer. Very nice. Heaven farm itself is not much of a farm a few chickens wandering and small bird avery.

I went for a Valentine's meal with my wife, and we were both looking forward to it. I ordered the Surf and Turf, priced at £24.95, while my wife chose the Halloumi burger. Her burger was excellent, but unfortunately, my dish was a letdown. For starters, it was served on a flat board, which caused the peppercorn sauce to spill off onto the table when I poured it over the steak. I asked for a plate, which was promptly provided. The steak itself was cooked medium as requested, but about a quarter of it was gristle, which made it hard to enjoy, especially with the small 5oz portion. The 6 prawns that came with it were tiny and lacked the flavor they should have had. The hand-cut chips were tasty, but there were only about ten pieces, which was disappointing given the price. For the amount I paid, the meal was poor value, and I left the restaurant still feeling hungry. The service was great, but when I mentioned the issues with my meal, I was simply told that they’d pass the feedback along.

Over many years this has been one of our really go to pubs and restaurants. Used for family and business special occasions and more often a casual evening meal in bar area. Always great atmosphere, food and overall night out. Not so last night. For various reasons we have not been able to go for quite some time. Wow what a disappointment on several fronts. Seems like the whole DNA has changed. Right from the kick off the bar staff seemed lethargic, not really engaged and a slightly 'off'. The overall layout had changed with the opening up of the restaurant as part of the general bar area, not a segmented area. Change can be great but not in our view in this case. Gone where the white linen table cloths in the restaurant - pity. One of our go to meals is fish and chips was off the menu @ 7.30 in the evening with the pub ish 20% capacity. We had sausages which were not either either in our opinion local fresh with a poor texture and very bland taste. Three on a plate with just some stips we think it was potato actually not sure, poor in texture. A very poor plate. Andrew serving our table, and all the others tables , was as always very attentive. Poor experience overall and a change to something that felt like a Multiple chain. Not one of the countries award winning venues which we used to love.

Trading boundaries has a magic from the moment you walk through the door. It's a family run business and they make you feel special. The ambience is fantastic, with so much to feast your eyes on. It tantalises all your senses, with the lights, decor, beautiful food and Jazz music. Its everything you could ask in a place and more.

Disappointing, the Sloop's web-site offered a set two course lunch for £19.50, an offer reiterated on the Festive Menu Board in the restaurant. On arrival, with my wife and two friends. we were informed the set menu was not available and we needed to order from the al la carte menu. As I only required a light meal, I ordered a main course , steak and chips , coffee and mince pie with a bottle of non-alcoholic beer. This came all came to £46.40 including the added 12.5% gratuity. Cannot fault the service and ambiance however. I agree with the other's who posted similar comments - rather expensive for a steak pub lunch.

Just superb! have been in the evening but never in the daytime - would hightly recommend this to anyone in the area! I had a buddha bowl style salad and we shared a sticky chicken/satay as a starter, my colleague had the fish gujons - all freshly made and really really tasty. A lovely young lady called Hayley looked after us. Staff were all working hard but didnt appear stressed and they atmosphere was lovely. Cant wait to try one of the 'jazz sundays' many thanks.
