The best restaurants in Godalming Central and Ockford Waverley South East

One of the nicest, best value for money cafes in Godalming. Have been here a few times, and whilst it isn’t cheap, i don’t mind paying more when the quality and experience is better than any chain coffee shops on the high street. I had a delish panini, there’s lots of choice, and it even came with a nice side salad and crisps. The choice of drinks and sweet treats is always lovely too.

Very good pub. Prices are reasonable and staff was very friendly and services was fast. Food was very good and the location is by a high street, but there is a car park at the back. Not busy, so ideal to meet friends. We really has a great time there.

A tad over priced in my opinion. But clean and you know what you're getting.

The best out of all the local pizza express, very nice

This fish & chip takeway has gone now, having been superceded by "Oh My Cod" restaurant and takeway. Deep Blue was comparitively expensive for mediocre fish & chips that always had an odd, cloying smell, either from old, or maybe burnt, oil. Not sure which, but it was unpleasant. Also, they stopped selling pea fritters some time ago, which were a fovourite with the locals. If you don't listen to your customers, they vote with their feet. All in all, not surprising Deep Blue failed in Godalming.

Nice Sunday roast after hangover from the night before!!

This is a review for the Afternoon Tea. It was excellent and extremely good value. The portions are generous and good quality and the lady serving us was very friendly.

Rude member of staff claimed this cafe was “a business, not a hangout spot”. Lashed out at a customer for not directly handing him the cash instead placing it on the counter, it made him feel like a “peasant”. Not the service we were expecting. Plenty of other cafes in godalming to go to.

Had a great recent Sunday lunch, roast leg of lamb, and sea bass, both done perfectly., along with drinks.Coming from someone who used to hate rhubarb and custard from the horror days of school lunches, I can recomend the rhubard, custard and cream knickerbocker glory, for a desert.

The worst jacket potato I've ever had the dryest chewiest potato served in a bowl not a plate??

Absolutely appalling service, my close friend got dominos and when we went to eat we found mushroom on the pizza, it was not what we asked for and my friend is ALLERGIC!. When we called to let them know and get compensation for it, the manager replied with it’s not all over the pizza so we were fine, and that she would only give us half of what we paid for. She was incredibly rude and continued to repeat it wasn’t all over the pizza just on a part of it. Which is incredibly wrong considering it shouldn’t matter it was on the pizza. Would not recommend going there.

This coffee shop is the worst of all Gail’s I have been to. Firstly I have to say the staff are very friendly but unfortunately that’s the only positive thing I can say. This was not my first visit but it seems every experience has been the same. If you come at lunch time there is never enough available food and simply sold out before 11:30am, the counter empty with limited options. Smoked salmon bagel, chicken burger, quiches and the list goes on…! On the last visit staff advised that certain foods are being made at certain times, so I did follow their advice and arrived next day just to be told that food I wanted has already sold out again and I should call ahead first! Seriously what kind of coffee shop is this! For the time being I would advised to stay away and don’t waste your time to avoid disappointment. There is so many other places in Godalming who care for ther customers and I’ll be going to these from now on.

Terrible pizza. Skimped on meatballs, skimped on bbq sauce. Terrible cutting, see photos. Slow down and take your time. It's Hindhead from now on, this place has so gone downhill.
