The Standard Wetherspoons formula.A good range of beers at well below average prices. The food menu is basic but very good value but nothing special . The service was friendly and it was very busy but clean

A breakfast trip. Nice atmosphere, clearly popular. The app said 13 minutes for food but it was at least 20. Ordered grilled tomato with my breakfast but it was stone cold even though you could see light charring. Complained and was brought replacements that had clearly been microwaved so they were red hot. Breakfast supposed to be until 12 but the menus were removed at 11.45. Jaipur ale was cloudy but tasted fine. Some reservations but breakfast and a pint for a tenner has got to be good.

Superb Weatherspoonsm ☺️ Very lovely and spacious with a beautiful atmosphere. My friend and I had a lovely lunch 😁 Has now become our favourites.

WiFi is sometimes too busy and slow.

Today my wife and I ordered fish and chips. We ordered a large fish which, when brought to our table was so small that it was necessary to complain. The waiter came to our table, looked at it and decided to check if we had ordered large fish. He then came back to us and said they are large fish. He did not apologise. As we were so annoyed he said he would get the manager to see us. However nobody came to our table. If they were large fish I dread to think what size a small fish would be. Today’s meal was a complete rip off and although we have been regular customers I doubt we shall be returning.

Can’t fault the staff or the food but all the toilet doors in the men’s have been broken for far too long and unpleasant that anyone will and can just open your cubicle if the doors don’t stay pushed shut which they actually don’t anyway.

Very good pub. Prices are reasonable and staff was very friendly and services was fast. Food was very good and the location is by a high street, but there is a car park at the back. Not busy, so ideal to meet friends. We really has a great time there.

Often too many staff when quiet, then only 2 or 3 at busy times, like 12.30-14.00! Glass collection and washing very erratic - sometimes anything like 45 mins before anything is done! Glass wash rota needed! Also recent refurb destroyed the illusion of the 4 Titanic funnels down the middle of the room (I thought a very important element of the decor, considering the Titanic connection🤔?), and the centre section is now very badly lit - v gloomy!

Met up with family here for an evening meal. Not the place to go for a quiet drink. VERY NOISY. Service was slow but they were very busy so acceptable. Food arrived and my mixed grill was not edible. Very tough meat that just wouldn't be cut. Overcooked chips. Not a great experience. Think we will give this one a miss next time. The only redeaming feature is a huge car park at the rear.

Great service, staff do a fantastic job and are always friendly no matter how busy it gets. Great, affordable food and decent selection of lagers. Real Ales probably need the lines cleaning more often, but otherwise it's superb!

It cannot be denied that Weatherspoons is incredible value for money, a G&T and half a lager for £3.50 and a bottle of wine for £15 (which sells in Sainsbury's at £13) is clearly good value. The atmosphere in different branches of Weatherspoons varies; this branch, is okay, there are regulars who appear to prop up some of the tables and add some character to the venue. The seats were grubby and gross so did have to swap them, doing this, they were also sticky to the touch. Service is slow, particularly when they weren't that busy. Only ordered chips but they came out Luke warm as though they'd been hanging around a while. At the end of the day, it's cheap not necessarily cheerful but it's cheap and, if you've got good company, it doesn't matter where you are.

We came to Spoons 17.00hrs for a Meal with friends. Although the service was very slow,they where busy. However our friend got her Dinner and had finished while we where still waiting for ours. We had 1x Double American Burger with Chips and Onion Rings. 1x Triple American Burger with Chips. Both these Dinners had over done Chips. No Garnish,the presentation with our food. Very Dissapointing. Sister had large Chips and Onion Rings !! The Chips where perfect although presentation was lacking !! . How can you get one portion of Chips Correct and give two over Done Chips to your Customer's!!! £38.90 we paid as we had a Drink before.

A disappointing experience. Ordered a burger and a mixed grill, but after 40 minutes, I had to chase it up, despite the pub being almost empty!! No apology for the delay—just told it would be a “couple more minutes.” When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t even what I ordered. After waiting that long, I wasn’t willing to complain and risk another hour’s wait. Poor service all around.

Dear Head office I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit. Normally, I look forward to my two days off work and especially enjoy breakfast during my stay. However, my experience this time was extremely disappointing. And today told there's no eggs. Why don't they get some from Tesco's. Firstly, breakfast was delayed for about 20 minutes, which I understand may have been due to a shortage of staff in the past. However, what I found unacceptable was being told that both coffee machines were offline and under repair. I visited on another occasion they are still ropy. As a regular guest who typically enjoys a Mocha, I found it frustrating to be offered only soft drinks as an alternative. This is simply not acceptable for the service I expect. What made matters worse was the lack of concern from the Duty Manager, who did not seem to take the situation seriously or offer any meaningful solution. I am truly disappointed with this experience and may reconsider staying here in the future unless these issues are addressed. I hope this matter is taken seriously, and I look forward to hearing from you. Updated 19th Feruary.

Whenever I visit, I always enjoy a Bud Light with a slice of lemon. I really appreciate that you take the time to prepare it this way for me. Thank you for making it just right! The food I have tried was truly delicious. I appreciate the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, which really enhances the experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it feel familiar and welcoming. The garlic bread with cheese is a standout dish that I highly recommend!

One of the better Spoons. Nice people and a good family atmosphere. 2 good meals and 2 quality drinks for under £20. Great value for the equivalent of over £50 in Surrey pubs.

Better than average spoons. Food hot portions are a bit hit and miss

Two of us called in here to grab a bite to eat and a drink as we had been at an inquiry meeting at WBC. This place is easily found either from the main high street or as we found from the main towns car park at the rear. Service was excellent as was the quality of the food and drink. The two of us had a basket of boneless chicken which comes with chips, coleslaw and a pot of BBQ sauce. We also included a pint each of beer and the total of each meal with drink was just £9:01. Really great value and we would highly recommend. Would certainly call in here again when next in Godalming as at these prices it cannot be beaten.

Very weird. A member of staff called me from the number registered to the pub, put on an Indian accent and then giggled and hung up. The manager says she has no idea who this was and that they haven't made any calls. 🙄

Our family met up for a birthday lunch today. My husband and I arrived first to find a very busy pub. A young lady was cleaning a table (13) I mentioned to her that we would be a party of six and she put a pair of tables together for us. I just thought how kind when they were all so busy. The rest of our party were another 20 minutes trying to park, so we had to guard our table.

Food wad slightly over done. Plus Cheese. Service was good however had to wait a while to be given a plate I asked for twice and still had to wait. Atmosphere was noisy to start with, couldn't here my friends talk although not many Tables left.

I recommend good food. French fries made from real potatoes. Fresh cod in delicious breadcrumbs

My local. Burgers are actually decent but I'm giving ur a scathing review because one of the staff upbraided a two year old (!!!!!!!) for hitting the buttons on the fruit machines. What do you think he'll do, develop a gambling habit 😄 Stars removed for lack of cop-on. Staff are much nicer than the patrons...ugh

Really lovely staff, friendly, helpful and happy!

We popped in for lunch after a pleasant walk around the pretty town of Godalming. I had the Katsu Curry and my wife had the Ramin Bowl. Also a pint of ale and a glass of wine for the lady. Food was lovely and a good selection of beers. The pub was exceptionally clean unlike the Wetherspoon' in Brighton where you wipe your feet on the way out.

A good onist pub, very good value beer and food, biggest problem it can get very busy.

I don't frequent pubs and don't drink alcohol. I do however have to eat and drink out a few times a month and I would always choose a Weatherspoon's because you know what your getting and its affordable. I have been here a few times and have never had any problems from the staff or clients and have found the staff to be really very enthusiastic. Coffee is great.

In my opinion this is by far the most prestine Wetherspoon pub I've been to. I'm not surprised as Godalming is a quality town too. Internal decor is great. Good lighting, so no problems with reading the menu. Good variety of drinks and food is good quality as always. Served quickly. The hot drinks vending machine worked ok the last time I went at least. Definitely recommend this pub.

One of the Spoons we went once to and won't return. Very dirty tables, even after staff "cleaning" them, and me using wet wipes afterwards. Staff had no idea about where the tables were, and were running through the pub with our food on the plates getting cold. Dirty cutlery as well, so had to run to the bar, and then wait until someone came over with a clean one. Upside of course all the Jack Phillips memorabilia.

This is a Wetherspoons, it is extremely popular, especially on a Sunday. Fair priced, good food and plenty of choice. In fact, I think, you would be hard pressed to find better value. I can't be considered a regular, but I have been on numerous occasions and to date, not one complaint. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food has always been excellent. For me in particular, I like that they offer "small plates". If you're not a big eater, or need room for "pud", check that section on the menu. My favourite is the all day brunch. My plate is left emptied. There is no waste and I am full. Better still, you can choose your meal with or without a drink. It really is excellent value.....AND.... currently, free parking on a Sunday. A rarity in and around the area. The car park is to the rear of the premises, of which lies the park and riverside walks, all rather pleasant.

Sent back cold all day breakfast on a cold plate after waiting 30 mins.... Congealed solid cold eggs..cold beans....colder sausage. It came back 10 mins with better eggs..... Nothing else ...it was even colder! No concept of hot food from person in the kitchen and the unsimpathetic "Manager". We are busy.... I am a Spoons fan...worst meal ever.. Even when you give them a second chance.. Just an insult from people with no concept of customer service and basic respect.. Table 30/ 1230/24 April 24 NB The ingredients were a very acceptable standard.....not the cooking....or attitude!! I was offered a free breakfast later by the area manager.....but I just couldn't be bothered..

The best place to get a cooked breakfast after a night out 5/5

The fried egg was just right, with a slightly runny yolk perfect for dipping toast. The sausages had a nice brown finish, and the bacon was a good mix of crispy and chewy. The black pudding was rich and tasty. The hash browns were crispy and golden, and there was a generous portion of baked beans. The mushrooms were juicy and well-seasoned, rounding out the meal nicely. The toast with Anchor butter was a nice touch.

Inexpensive good food plenty coffee. 😋

I walked along the River Way from Guildford and wanted somewhere to sit, rest and eat. The JP provided all three and my Beef Madras and AF Lager were perfect. I know some people have issues with Wetherspoons, but I like that they all busy and active and provide a consistent good-value experience. Staff were also friendly and efficient,

It's Wetherspoons, you know where you stand! However, our visit exceeded expectations. The food was really nicely done - crispy chicken and an impressive pizza base. Service was great.

Ordered all day English Breakfast around 1230 on 19th April table 30... After 30 mins it arrived with cold beans..cold sauges.....cold bacon..and frilly ,cold and solid fried eggs ...... At least the chips were hot! After a nibble we complained to what appeared the large abrupt Manageress. We gave her a chance to show that it was not the normally excellent standard we expect from Spoons ..... She totally failed....most of it was still miserably cold including the actual plate... Absolutely no concept of hot foot...from the cook ...and this Management whose excuse was ...we are busy..... Worst Spoons experience and attitude award !???....

Obviously great value for money. But the staff are particularly friendly and clearly happy in their work.

Food was great and prices unbelievably cheap

Food was shocking,ordered nachos but not even enough sout cream or guacamole and when asked for a bit more they wanted to charge us. Chicken wings were not good either, sauce was rubbish.

It's a Wetherspoons. I had a perfectly satisfactory sausage and egg muffin at a clean table, ordered from a pleasant bar attendant. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. For less than a fiver!

Ordering from table wasn't working (3 phones with different networks) so had to order at the bar which was OK, but server messed up the drinks. Food was ok. Atmosphere was good.

Went there for lunch today and used the app to order 2 x large mixed grills, one with a paid-for extra egg. The drinks took 15 minutes and the food 45 minutes to arrive. There were uncleared tables, and empty glasses were piling up. When the food came, the extra egg was missing. When I mentioned it, they argued that I hadn't ordered it, until I showed them the email confirmation. Also, the meat was overcooked, the eggs were not runny, and the tomatoes were missing from both plates.

Nice staff and food is ok. Today I was served an excellent breakfast (by Spoons standard) so that was pleasing. You know what you are going to get when you visit a Wetherspoons and this place doesn't disappoint.

Good food reasonably priced with a drink, but missing roasties on the Christmas Turkey dinner.

Not really enough staff to serve quickly enough, not even busy. What I can't stand is bar staff that don't know WHO is next in line to be served. Just shouting "who is next" is not good enough, because there are ALWAYS people who just push their way in when they are clearly not next. Their WiFi is absolutely totally useless. Also didn't see much happy faces from the staff, except to regulars, so no smiles if you are a stranger !! My beer, when I got it, was fine.

This used to be one of my favourite spoons, we come here every Friday for breakfast but the last few times we’ve been have been awful, worst of all was today, breakfast was stone cold and when complaining to the blonde manager her response was “I’ll let the kitchen know” what sort of response is that? She always looks like she hates her job, never smiles and never greets you or says goodbye, absolutely shocking. Won’t be rushing back to this one.

Went at 10pm on a Friday and was already shut. Very disappointed.

I could criticise all day long..this is cheap and you can usually find a seat. Luckily for me Rhys is working today. He has only met me couple of times. I look a state after motorbike collision i drink with straw and cant handle too much ice. I had to order on App as legs hurt. I haven't been in here for weeks. I swapped my JD for Cognac today and was SO impressed when Rhys bought it over with 2 ice and a straw. Little things like that mean a lot when you've been disabled sleep deprived and in pain for 2 weeks 💙

No clean tables all with dirty plates very slow serving have to be told to clean the table poor management everything is in slow motion mode

Cheap beer, cheap food, adjacent car park, very little by way of ambience. Staff generally very friendly but clearly the cheap booze attracts a certain clientele that staff spend too much time sorting out. Great for a quick bite whilst in town. Some absolute Bargains on the food menu and coffee is a third of the price of nearby coffee shops.

Food is good and well priced, drinks are likewise reasonably priced, pretty much as you'd expect from a Wetherspoons. Service is generally quick. My only frustration is that they often close the dining area at the far end of the building nearest Crown Court Car Park, without any sign of it being used for a function, this pushes everyone up one end of the pub which makes it much noisier.

I normally have an excellent time at the pub, I am a regular customer and never have any issues. I don’t want to bring the rating down for the pub but I was left shocked at my most recent trip. There was a server behind the bar I don’t want to name her on here but she was small with very short brown hair. Her attitude was extremely rude, scowling at me the whole time when I was ordering like she was disgusted with me. I didn’t feel as welcome in the pub as I normally do. I do love the rest of the staff there and it has one of the best environments and atmospheres. Please don’t let this review put you off just wanted to express my concerns so this place doesn’t get ruined.

Nice enough place but it's the noisiest Wetherspoons I've ever visited. Popular and busy, lots of kids but the problem is the sound effects. You get a deafening train whistle blasting every 2 minutes. I asked the waiter about it and he confirmed that it drives them crazy too!

The duty manager on the evening of 29th August 2023 extremely abusive to a group of eight retired customers who were occupying a table near the front door. The manager held the door wide open to allow the smoke from a group of persons her was talking to outside to blow into the pub and on being asked to close the door told the group to move seats rather than apologise. On being challenged he became abusive and subsequently encourage a group of youths to harass and insult the group who were from a local Church. I was quite disgusted with the attitude and actions of the manager who is clearly unfit for his position, shocked and very upset.
