Man this pub could be so good. It’s got a great location, nice looking building and parking galore. But the pub is crying out for TLC and service. Two people at least serving drinks, cleaning tables, taking orders. Tidy up the function room so visitors can sit there, with a ‘hoppy’ ambience (ie) pictures, equipment, hops on the wall. Serve some basic food. Arrange the odd music night. Jeesh wake up the sleeping giant of Farnham please.

Despite having trip adviser adverts on their tables they made it very clear they do not like tourists. I thought it was a bit strange as it's a very nice venue but no smiles, I always take my glasses back to the bar when I leave as I'm civilised but only frowns. Later my wife told me that while I was in the washroom they said loudly in front of her " this is our place" so I would advise anyone visiting Farnham to frequent many of the other venues which are so much fun and way nicer.

We just called in here for an early evening drink with friends. This pub is timeless and over the years I have been calling in the only thing that has really changed is the saw dust they had on the floor is no more. It is a real character place and always seems to have such a good following. We were actually lucky on Friday evening at 6pm to find a four seater table in the bar area. Drinks are perfect here and at realistic prices. Certainly worth a visit.

Went here as its said online they did food, and had a pool table ect. Was very dispointed. The guy behind the bar got the drink wrong when I asked for half a pint. He poured the beer wrong. Five of us called in here for a quick drink before heading off elsewhere. I hadn't been in here for years but as soon as you walk through the front door the historic and warm atmosphere hits you. The open fire was lit and was beautiful to view. The place was quite full with people have a nice quiet relaxing evening. Service at the bar was slow but the lady serving was on her own so that is understandable. Drinks were superb and we enjoyed our short visit. Would certainly call in here again for a quiet drink.

Would a group of 30 year olds really have a 17 year old tag along? Struggle to believe that if it were a family with teenagers who didn't have ID, the parents would be unable to order a drink? Needless to say we won't be returning.

Great little boozer round the back street, A reputation for top notch beers, especially the London Pride, you wont find it better anywhere else, always have a warm and friendly reception when we visit here. I cant believe some have written negative feedback about this pub, its got great ambience. If you looking to eat expensive high class restaraunt meals theres plenty of places in Farnham to go, respect this boozer as a what it is, its a PUB and its reputation for its ale is one to behold. Had a great night with friends as we always make this our first call for start of the evening, always end up saying half way round the other pubs, "Should have stayed in the Hop Blossom". Not pretentious in here.....This is how Pubs used to be until they get a white washed make over that looks like a Dentists waiting room, dont spoil our proper pub, keep them like this.... Friendly

I have been frequenting this pub for sometime now. I knew the previous landlord called Jim and got on well with him, food was good. Since the new landlord took over not too many things have changed, although at the moment food is not on offer, I am told the landlord is looking to find someone to take care of that side. He told me he is taking his time as he wants to find the right fit. He has and is gradually repainting and refitting the pub and what he has done so far is very pleasant and easy on the eye. He is gradually removing old furniture that has been in the pub for many years and putting in furniture that works with the unusual layout of the pub. The beer is probably the best in Farnham without a doubt, I said beer, as I do not drink lager often. The London Pride is excellent and he always has two or three guest ales as well as ESB, a nice beer but a little strong for me. The ambience of the pub is that of a small back road pub. Usually there are up to a dozen regulars at the bar and other people sitting down in the pool room or near the fire place. This usually triples on a Friday night and creates a lovely busy atmosphere. These regulars have been drinking in the hop blossom for many years and obviously still like it despite three new pub groups opening pubs in the last year in Farnham. There seems to be a steady influx of new customers who pop in for the odd pint to meet friends and chat, there is a little quiet music in the background which is rather nice, better than the blaring music that is in many of the local pubs that kills any attempt at conversation. The nice thing is that it is run by a local person, nice regulars that create a welcoming atmosphere

I’ve been drinking in the Hop for many years - I’ve loved it as much for the good company than anything. The beers were good, the food basic but fine and the range of characters always amusing. I’ve always recommended it as the best pub in Farnham. A new landlord has changed all of that. The soul of the pub has changed, the beer tastes of chemicals and there’s a horrible 3 piece suit slap bang in the middle of the pub. The regulars are leaving in droves. So sad.

We went into the Hop Blossom with some friends as we though we'd give it a try. After all, it's right in the heart of the town and has been there for years (albeit a few changes in the landlords) so it cant be bad...right? Wrong....nothing much has changed and it really needs a makeover. Some would say old world charm.....others would say dingy. We got pestered by a drunken guy who should have been shown the door by most landlord, but clearly a "regular" drunk. With some investment this pub could be a winner....so why not? Now the main reason for a two star rating.....the ridiculous prices of their wine. Come on You Cant be Serious! At around the £30 per bottle you would imagine the place to be a fine dining restaurant or a trendy Gastro Pub, but it's neither it's a dingy old boozer catering for the local old boys and intent on frightening away any new customers that might like a glass of decent wine!

We went for a drink at lunchtime and I asked for a prosecco. We sat in a very strange dark room which was more like something out of the haunted house movie than actually being in a pub. The prosecco was terrible. Brand 'Moinet'. We took it back to the bar as I thought it wasn't right. The woman behind the bar said its fine as 'she drinks it all the time'. We had to buy another drink and there was no discussion around the prosecco being off. Upon leaving and taking the glasses back to the bar, I asked the barmaid for the brand name of the prosecco as we were going to look it up. The brand name was given and I said thank you, the woman responded 'see ya' sarcastically. Not surprised to see the pub empty at lunchtime on a Saturday with service and attitude like that.

I like a good fish n chips. I'm 69kg man who requires less than 1800 calories a day as registered disabled. So my appetite is relatively small and I don't eat a lot. I ordered a large Cod and small chips to myself for £11 The food was fine. Just the portion size was really small. I was able to finish it all, easily. Normally I struggle to finish the fish and get no where near completing the chips. I was still hungry and after spending £11 I find this quite disappointing.
