Have visted regularly for years. Always great food and service. The staff are what really make it great.

Superb pizza, Pollo Ad Astra, with a light crunchy crust, not too big, just enough to give it bite. Coupled with a scrummy filling - maybe the best I've ever had. Service very good, just a bit quiet as we went on a Tuesday late afternoon, but then we didn't have to wait too long. Definitely try and get along again. Thanks.

Pizzaexpress is our first choice for family dining. Authentic, superb pizza , warm ambience and lovely attention from the Italian manager Rosario always made fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Good service, but the shrimp pizza comes with a few small prawns, I would double that amount for £16, garlic shrimp salad same problem- lack of shrimps.

Reasonably priced family restaurant. You know what you are going to get. Nice building, comfortable table and chairs. Friendly and efficient service.

So expensive now without discount. Quality of food at this branch is variable, overcooked sometimes and varying amount of toppings and sauce. Service consistently good though. Recent refit seems to have made it feel more cramped. Still a good proposition for those with special dietary requirements due to plentiful meat free Inc protein options and gluten free and dairy free options.

This is the worst pizza express I have ever had. Both pizzas were wrong and missed 3 dips. The receipt was correct yet the male on the phone who said they “make mistakes all the time and it’s Deliveroo’s problem to resolve” angered me. £33.00 wasted. Making mistakes on purpose to save money ? And only just re opened. The pizzas were cold and dough balls not cooked properly. No refund on an apology. Do not recommend this pizza express at all. Wrong order and uncooked food with missing bits too. Disappointed.

Poor service, booked a table for the family, arrived on time and told we closed, as the restaurant not busy, Even told the staff we have reservations but said no.. really disappointed why not message or email to inform us instead of turning up

This is the best restaurant in the area to take kids. Rosario and the team are so friendly and so great with kids! Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Great food and service. Bit of a shame that our table had a big chunk missing on the corner and there was a correlating crack in the wall. Might be time to retire that table and replace a few tiles; minimal effort for maximum effect.

Our first visit to this particular branch of our favourite pizza chain. Small but cosy restaurant. Only 2 staff front of house but not busy on a Sunday lunchtime so no issues with service. The waitress could have cracked a smile though! My spicy Giuseppe on a Romana base was very good but mind those jalapenos! My partner's Funghi Di Bosco was also rated highly. We also had the dougballs which we thought were included in a Valentino on line promotion but there was some confusion about what we were "allowed" so I paid more than expected, plus they weren't heart shaped as in the promotion! My partner had a Dolciti spiced pumpkin cake with coffee which is a small dessert but very good. So about £50 for the above with 2 soft drinks which is not cheap but the pizzas are good.

Service was good and quick and enjoyable

Starters were fine, pizza was poor. Understaffed. Had to wait an age for service. Drinks over priced. The only good thing was that we were able to take our own birthday cake & they supplied plates & cutlery for the cake & the coffee was good.

More interested in deliveroo orders at the peril of serving customers in the restaurant- if it is a restaurant any more or a fast delivery service??? When challenged about cold food for at our table - the MANAGER slaps the plate on the table and says - here you go love/darling ??? We have been Pizza Express customers for many many years but our experience at godalming was the worst and sadly it seems to be the trend across the restaurant chain but surely customers in the restaurants should not suffer from such extremely poorly dining experience PIZZA EXPRESS DONT FORGET THE CUSTOMER IN THE RESTAURANT ?!?

Why have I not been here for such a long time. Delicious pizza, great service, the perfect lunch for a birthday. Chef Charlie came and said hi to which was super nice, and the kids like it to. We will be back soon.

My two year old and I came for dinner the other evening. It was a real treat for us and it didn’t disappoint. The food came out quickly and tasted lovely! But the highlight of our visit was the staff. They were all very welcoming and happy to sit us down. You could really sense that they enjoyed working with each other and had a good working relationship with the manager, which sometimes lacks in places. My two year old decided that he didn’t want to sit for dinner anymore and began to walk off and shout, which left me feeling embarrassed. However, the staff continued smiling and talking to him. He took a real shine to Giorgio and they spent ages talking and playing (which meant I could eat my dinner, hot! Something that doesn’t really happen anymore.) It really was the kindest thing, something that might not come under his job description but made such a difference to our visit. We left and my two year old said ‘that was fun I like it there’ So thank you!

As seasoned pizza express livers all over the UK and world this one doesn't live up to brand expectations overall. Let's start with the good stuff - the staff here are exceptional. We haven't experienced such customer focused staff anywhere else in the UK ever. Great job. And then the food experience. This restaurant is clearly trying to trim costs and you can tell with the food experience. The children's pizzas had 5 drops of cheese each on them - we sent them back and they came back with 10 drops of cheese on the. - seriously poor. The homemade sicilian lemonade was watered down to the point it was barely recognisable in taste. And don't get me started on being forced to pay for super expensive bottle aqua pan a water when other tables were served jugs of tap water. Sadly having superb staff doesn't compensate for an average food experience. We won't be back to this branch.

All a bit strange, lady serving was pleasant and polite, the guy was overbearing and a little creepy to be honest. calling my daughter "princess" and questioning us twice on whether her intolerances were actually allergies "because he does worry about her" was all too much and made us uncomfortable, glad he got the firm hint and backed off.

My son had his birthday party here. The staff where brilliant and he had a lovely time along with his little sister who was made to big part of the party as well

We had our sons 12th birthday party at Pizza Express Godalming this morning and we were absolutely thrilled with everything, Alex and the rest of staff were thoroughly amazing and all the children really enjoyed themselves - easiest party we've ever had as the staff took all the stress away, we would definitely do this again and highly recommend

Speedy. Pizzas ordered and delivered by Deliveroo within 24 mins. However, they were both a bit over cooked and my Sloppy Giuseppe didnt look anything like the picture. I think they might have run out of green peppers?! I think I spotted 3 tiny fragments. Not my best Pizza Express experience but was delivered on time and was hot.

We had a great children’s party with the team at Pizza Express Godalming. We had about 10 7 year olds. They created their own pizzas, got to toss some dough in the air, decorate hats and had ice cream for pudding followed by birthday cake we provided. The staff were very capable with a big gang of kids and had thought of everything. My son had a great time and we as parents had no prep or tidying up to do which was amazing. So thanks very much!

We all had a lovely lunch. The staff were excellent, especially the manager. Great with young children.

It's an excellent restaurant. Very clean and felt very safe there when we went for dinner on Christmas Eve. Have been going with my parents for years and never had a bad meal.

Guy with tattoos seemed offended that we decided to dine in his restaurant. And top top it off of course the offer wasn't applicable for that pizza when we recieved the bill even though we told him in the beginning we were using a voucher. Service with a smile doesn't stop just because you're wearing a mask.

The worst meal my partner has had at a Pizza Express restaurant. The starter of Calamari was served with salad cream and main of pollo pesto had not a trace of green pesto, pasta was seriously undercooked with very little chicken and tasted unpleasant. Having ordered the same meal at other PEx it’s a shame this franchise is letting the brand down

After responding to an online survey regarding visit to Pizza Express in London-Soho, received an email with voucher for free doughballs (Love them). Stopped in Godalming for free order plus purchased an additional order. Still Love them! Their Pizzas are outstanding as well.

I have frequented many pizzerias throughout my life and can say that of all my trips to a pizza restuarant Pizza Express Godalming was one of the most average. The staff were friendly, the meal was reasonably priced (using a voucher for main and starter for £11.95) and the atmosphere was pleasant. Despite all the pleasantries I felt that the decline of Pizza Express was highlighted to me on my visit. I went for the garlic bread with mozzarella as a starter. The mozzarella was generously melted on and the bread was well baked. Exactly what I asked for, no pomp and circumstance and that is the reason I felt disappointed. Pizza Express is scared to push the boundaries and that's why I feel the average consumer no longer cares to part with their hard earned cash at this establishment. We've had the garlic bread with mozarella for decades, give us something new. For the main I went for the Sloppy Guiseppe, an old favourite of mine. I have enjoyed this pizza for many years at this establishment and this visit was no different. The tried and tested. Old faithful if you will. However the same thing that has delighted me over the years is why I am now disappointed. Pizza Express has been on the high street since 1965 and yet now find itself faltering. It has seen change but has not adjusted to fit in with an ever changing landscape but has instead been content to lay idle and survive. This is no longer good enough. I did feel the meal was reasonably priced however the price of a cola of £2.90 was ridiculous for what was a can of coke (£1 at the supermarket). I feel Pizza Express needs to do better here. Big Shagger may be returning.

Best Italian pizza in the world!

We had a very good pizza here. The prices are moderated, and the place is very nice. I advise to choose the roman size, not the calabrese one (it’s too small).

I've been here probably a dozen times. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is warming and comfortable. It's nice for a little date or for a gathering with friends, it's kid friendly as well. I wouldn't normally review a restuarant that's part of a chain but I really do feel that the Pizza Express in Godalming is the best that I've been to and the staff and the food quality make this a great place to eat. I'm Gluten and Lactose intolerant so I struggle to find good pizza (as you can imagine). But the Gluten free options here are great. The dough balls are fluffy in the middle and crunchy on the outside and amazing dipped in the mouthwatering vegan pestorissa. The Gluten free pizza base is crunchy and tastes just like a normal bread base! (unlike the bases at Prezzo and ASK which are like chewy flavourless cardboard) The vegan cheese is among the best I've had, it actually tastes like cheese (or at least very, very close to cheese) - again MUCH BETTER than ASK or Prezzo whose vegan cheeses taste like an odd combination of sweating fermented fruit and feet. The toppings are always fresh and full of flavour and the chefs are more than happy to swap out anything to customise the pizza to how you want it. My favourite is the pollo ad astra with added pepperoni. They also have a limited (but tasty) selection of Gluten and Dairy free dessert options. The sorbet is always a safe bet but I'm also particularly fond of the mini carrot cake that comes with coffee, perfectly spiced cakr and topped with decadent vegan icing. If you know anyone with allergen troubles and want to treat them to pizza, I'd say bring them here. The rest of their food is good too, not just the Gluten free stuff (or so my friends tell me!)

We've order lemon and herbs chicken wings as a starter but they tasted bad.They were not fresh,probably were kept for long in the freezer before cooking.

New vegan menu has got really good now. Great to see so much choice!

It surprises me how much pizza express quality can vary between restaurants. They're all good but Godalming pizza express has by far the tastiest food and friendliest staff. Good job guys! Edit - Seriously... These pizzas are amazing and the staff are epic!

Absolutely amazing pizza! It’s a great, casual restaurant with a cozy setting. Has a great menu with fantastic starters, mains and desserts. Also includes kids menu and customer toilets. Highly recommended for all!

Friendly staff and consistently good food

Good restaurant. Prices steep and portions are shrinking (much like any restaurant) and we therefore only visit when Voucher Cloud (excellent app, get it!) has an offer on. But you can usually get 20+% off the bill. Service is excellent and staff always happy to help with food allergies etc. That's the beauty of food that is actually cooked on the premises rather than just heated up!

Godalming Pizza Express is the best in this chain I've visited. Small by comparison to others but a great vibe, good food (the Calabrese is fantastic) and staff so friendly and fun it's verging on eccentric! Loved it and will definitely be back again.

We booked a table for seven to celebrate our daughters 8th birthday yesterday and we were not disappointed with the hospitality shown by Alex and his team, They made the evening special for us. The service was great, food was lovely and served at the same time and the atmosphere within the restaurant was relaxed and friendly. A lovely rendition of Happy Birthday was belted out by Alex (wasted talent!) and his team and I think some of the other customers in the restaurant joined in too, followed by a round of applause by all, fantastic! On this occasion alone I would highly recommend Pizza Express, Alex and his team for a lovely dining experience. Thank you so much guys! Gino Taiani

Went here mid week when a whole class from a local school were celebrating the end of term. However, despite the noise level, the service was not too slow and the food was still of the highest quality.

Lovely evening here, we had a really nice server with long brown hair. We all had starters and mains and all the food was wonderful. I had a Padana on a classic base and it was great. Good service, lovely environment and nice and clean. We will be back!

Been a feature of the Ming for a long time now but still serves up a decent experience.

All I can say is that ingredients were really tasty, I personally would recommend the romana bufala, and said from an Italian, this means that this pizza is made in a very nice way...

Perfect service! Needed to be out in 50 mins and they were amazing!

As you would expect great pizzas, lots of choice. 1 small niggle, didn't like the 10+bags of rubbish being taken out past our table, whilst I was eating my pizza. I appreciate it has to go out but during service!!

Six of us went for lunch including two children. The food was served quickly by very friendly staff and the food was excellent.

£13.90 for a classic La Reine with extra mushrooms. Wow extortion and poorly cooked. A solid overpriced slice of ‘not alot’!
