Lovely little place, traditional looking put it a fresh modern touch. Staff are friendly and happy to serve, knowledgeable on everything served! Food was great too. Would recommend and go again!

We stayed for one night and it was beyond our expectations - super clean, fancy, very nice decorations and attention to detail. The staff are incredible friendly and it nice that the bar below stays open late. Would highly recommend!!

Great little bar with a fantastic vibe especially in the courtyard outside, the cabins there are really cool. Bit limited on beer choice but they have Pravha which I like. The cocktails are good especially the sloe gin bramble. Relaxed atmosphere as it attracts older clientele

We hosted a drinks reception as a celebration of my Father's life with the Rose & Crown and the service could not have been more exemplary. All of the staff were absolutely incredible, totally flexible to our demands and were truly wonderful through every interaction. The team dealt with a high influx in expected numbers with little concern, allowed us to play live music and made the most delicious cocktails. The garden proved to be a brilliant area for hosting and accommodated our groups of friends and family really well. We truly could not be more grateful and cannot wait to return and host more family events with this amazing venue. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Attractive old pub but surprisingly modern and trendy inside with a lovely, Miami themed courtyard garden. Rooms and food availabe. Attentive, welcoming staff. Not tried the food and only gave 4 stars as the drinks were pricey compared with others locally.

Home counties' apres ski! We may have precious little in the way of regular snowfall. But what we lack in the way of fluffy stuff is fabulous hostelries like the Rose and Crown. Creative food ideas and beer at ski resort prices. All very authentic and great fun.

Food was really good, we all enjoyed what we ordered. I had the tomato burrata salad, it was delicious and bigger than I expected, the pardon peppers were really good too. The only thing I wasn't sure on was the price of soda water, a pint was £3.80! (My friends ordered mocktails which cost less than that).

A little gem in the heart of Godalming! One of our favourite bars, the eclectic interior paired with there irresistible cocktails and excellent beers make it a place we often visit. Above all this Lottie, Kevin and all the bar staff make it a welcoming and fun place to be! Any night at the Rose and Crown feels like a special occasion thanks to these guys! The experiencce I had at the bar was really unpleasant. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional, and the whole atmosphere was negative and unwelcoming. I definitely won't be returning to this bar again.

I visited the Rose and Crown with the intention of enjoying a nice drink with my friends, however, the manager was very unprofessional. They took our money for a drink, only to snatch it out my hand from us shortly after. This experience was extremely disgraceful and left me feeling disrespected. I strongly believe this type of treatment is unacceptable! I am entitled to finish my drink I paid for unless your willing to give me a refund which unfortunately didn't happen.

Rude staff in particular the Brunette manager was awful, made us feel unwelcome the moment we walked in. She accused my friend and I of smelling like smoke? Due to this very vague and uncalled for comment they refused to sell us drinks and made a big uncalled for scene about it infront of other patrons. As a Godalming resident I won’t be going back again, and I will deter any friends and my local community from doing the same. Owner needs to consider the kind of aggressive people they are hiring. I’ve never done a bad review on any establishment before. If you do go here, expect to treated badly and to pay extremely high prices for beer with no head that tastes like chlorine.

Nice little bar, busy but quick service, good choice of drinks but don't take cash which was slightly annoying. All inside tables were reserved so had to sit outside, but outside area was lovely and patio heaters over the tables were lovely and warm. Later found the reserved table were for the party we were joining but as there were no names we didn't know. Names on the reserved signs would have mean we didn't take up a table someone else could have had x

We enjoyed a lovely two night stay here. A brilliant location only a few minutes from the railway station,and so close to the town centre. A very comfortable room, newly decorated. We had a good breakfast to start the day. A lovely town, and walks along the River Wey. We enjoyed a great evening at Borough Hall for a concert. Definitely worth a visit.

The attention to detail was outstanding. The room, staff, food, and comfortable bed were all perfect. The room was a great size, clean, tastefully decorated, with its own bathroom. The dinner in the pub below was great, with lots of vegetarian options. (The meze sharing platter was awesome). Good offering of beers and spirits at the bar, with an impressive selection of guest beers and ales. The breakfast table was immaculately presented, with a delicious continental offering... With warm breads and pastries, fresh coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit and yogurt (not the usual chain hotel style of tinned fruit). Can't wait to stay there again.

We booked two rooms for three of us for an overnight stay whilst visiting relatives. We loved the individual, quirky rooms which had been renovated to very high standard. Lots of attention to detail. Although a busy Friday evening, the soundproofing was so effective we were not disturbed. The breakfast was delicious. Bowls of fresh fruit warm crispy rolls and croissants. Plenty of jam marmalade and even honey. We will be back

We booked into the rose and crown as a pit stop on our way to selsey for the weekend and we didn't want to leave! We had a fantastic night here with our 6yr old we stayed in the Juliet room which is so quirky our daughter loved her little seperate room and slept a dream! The food was delicious and the cocktail menu even better we stayed outside for the evening in a lovely decorated heated hut. Breakfast was all set up for us in the morning and the vibes were lovely and chilled the staff really need a big mention here nothing was too much and everyone was so friendly it really makes the difference. After our long journey to the hotel the complimentary first drink really set the mood for the evening, again a fantastic place to stay u couldn't ask for more. Thank you to the owners and all staff we will be back .

Decent small pizzas but one was a little undercooked. Nice sharing platter but felt small for the price . Good range of beers and great cocktails.

Popped in to try this newly refurbished establishment. Very pleasing to the eye one has to say . Greeted by a friendly member of staff handed a brunch menu . Time 1130 Ordered drinks whilst we were waiting for drinks ordered food . Paid and escorted to a nice table outside . We had been seated for about a minute then a shrill from the kitchen could be heard ........ come here whats this f....is this . order . Clearly it was our order as we were the only patrons there . And sheepishly the gent came to our table and said sorry we cant serve brunch as,the chef has thrown it all away . You can wait till one pm then you can order lunch time now was 1159 am !!!! We declined the additional wait . The waiter was apologetic but it was not pleasant hearing that our simply order on the menu we were given had caused such retribution . As a customer I wonder now the fact it was completely empty offers an insight on negative customer experience and thus devoid of Customers at such a busy time .A refund was given begrudgingly by the manager

We stayed one night midweek. We stayed in Juliette suite Room was lovely and had a second room for children. Breakfast was continental only. One thing worthy of mention there is absolutely no way of checking in before 3pm and nowhere to leave bags. I wish this had been made Explicit as this inconvenienced us greatly.

We’re just home to Texas from a fantastic stay in England and the first 4 nights we spent at the Rose and Crown. They were super accommodating, we stayed in the Juliet suite (my two yr old and me) and we had a lovely stay. The door, as mentioned on the website, to that suite is very low but it was so fun, my son adored it and has been asking to go back to ‘his room’ since we left. The smaller room had a toddler bed and what seemed to be a twin (single) and the main bedroom had a very comfortable large I think queen bed. The bathroom was great, good shower which is always a big deal for me when traveling! Plenty of clean fluffy towels, and breakfast was great. The highlight was Leslie our hostess who served us breakfast each day. She was so thoughtful and made my very picky son the special oats he’ll eat without me having to ask which when you’re traveling alone with a toddler means so much. Delicious warm pastries, hot French press coffee and Greek yogurt with fruit was such a wonderful way to start each day. My son has asked to go and see ‘Ma’am’ many times since! The parking across the street is convenient BUT if you’re traveling internationally with a non UK phone number, you’ll need cash for the machine as I could not get the mobile app to work to buy parking tickets each day. But a small issue, out of the hands of the R&C which did not affect such a wonderful stay. Thank you for the hospitality.

I booked the Rose and Crown for my partners 30th birthday at the end of May and, from the time of booking, nothing was too much trouble for Kevin (Manager/Owner) and his staff. I booked an area of the pub for approx 35 people on a busy Saturday night and was worried that this may not be feasible however I was wrong and it couldn’t have been any easier! The evening food choices are varied and really tasty and the pizza platters and other dishes that we had were of great quality. I’d happily eat there again in the future and am looking forward to giving their bottomless brunch a go one weekend. The one thing that sets The Rose and Crown apart from other venues in Godalming is the team that work there - they are all friendly, approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The bar is well stocked and the cocktails are excellent. Highly recommended!

Came in cause it had been recommended by multiple friends and coworkers, however we were met by very cold service, refused a seat inside and then was just left waiting for so long that we decided to leave and go else where. Very very disappointed...

Fabulous! We stayed with our two young grandchildren in the Juliet family room. Both rooms were great and very comfortable. All the staff were wonderful particularly the manager. The pizzas and pianist were an added bonus. The best overnight pub we've ever stayed in. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thanks to all:)

Absolutely disgusting service, felt discriminated against the by the bar staff the second we walked in, served last and told we had to leave as soon as Kevin wanted everyone to leave with no warning couldn’t even finish our drinks we had just bought. Offended and will not be coming back. Disgraceful.

Slightly pricey, but they do cocktails too..more than just the menu. It's definitely cramped inside on a Saturday night though. It's okay if you don't mind standing. Toilets are downstairs. So if you have had a bit too much to drink wait until you get home. Otherwise you may injure yourself falling downstairs!!

I frequently take my ‘parents’ into this lovely local. What a fabulous change from the previous owner! Staff very friendly and I always gets lots of attention when I go in. Vast array of gins and cocktails if you are into that sort of thing, but on tap lager is also good! Disappointing to see the poor review, as certainly I have never experienced anything like that. Yes, it is one of the more expensive pubs in Godalming, but sometimes you just need pay a little more for a nice ambience. If you want cheap, there’s always the Weatherspoons down the road. Let’s support small privately run pubs rather than giving money to the larger conglomerates!

Since having new owners and a refurb this is a fantastic hidden gem. Great night, always a great atmosphere. Prices are what you would pay anywhere, blood orange sunset g&t’s a perfect way to end a night. Not sure about the review below and the Rio off lager top. I often have this and have never paid for the bottle of lemonade, the bar staff will open one and top my drink but never charge me for it. KEEP IT UP GUYS!!

I popped in here when I missed a train. Had 30 minutes to kill so thought I'd have a quick pint.On ordering a lager top I was surprised to be given less than a pint of lager and a small bottle of lemonade. I asked what the bottle was about but didn't want a scene really and never got an answer. I left nearly 6 pounds lighter around the wallet for what can only be described as middle of the road lager.Is it really that hard to have a few bottles of lemonade kicking around in a bar and not charge people for a small bottle of lemonade when they just want a splash.This is the worst kind of rip off there is really. There's no need for it. People in godalming regularly get overcharged and ripped off but this little trick is probably the most cynical I've come across in a long time....Never again. I love all the bars and pubs in godalming but this is a piss take of the highest order.Rip off merchants.

I have been here a few times now each time a whole new experience, never bad. The place, whether packed to the rafters or just a few little groups has a homely and friendly atmosphere. Genuinely would recommend to others.

The Rose & Crown is my favourite pub in Godalming, it’s quirky, it’s fresh and it has a youthful vibrancy lacking in other local pubs. As a man in his thirties I’m still young enough to appreciate the exuberance of youth - a ‘Miami beach’ themed outside space in sleepy Godalming? Why the hell not! It manages to be eclectic and cozy at the same time and is equally at home being busy or quiet. They do Camden Pale Ale too, which I enjoy - I’d like to see a wider range of real ales but that’s a minor quibble. Perfectly located near the station for a post-work beer. Don Johnson would be proud.
