Pizza Express - Farnham in Waverley

Just ordered via deliveroo. Order 2 pizzas and only 1 was delivered. Tried calling the restaurant but no one picks the call

We arrived 5 minutes early for our booking and were shown to a table off in a side room which was empty even though there were numerous tables available in the main restaurant. My wife asked me if I was happy with that to be told it’s either this or another restaurant. We placed our order and after 20 minutes we were told the lasagna was not available. We then waited for over an hour to get a pizza which arrived under cooked. We are great fans of Pizza Hut but will not return to Farnham as this is our second very poor experience in this branch!!

Ordered at 17:24, delivered at 18:35. I'm not sure if that counts as being late (I can't remember what the original delivery time was). Also it was all fairly cold when it arrived. A bit disappointing but tasted good and I reheated the pizza in oven

Delivery driver was not late, just the restaurant underestimated the length of time to prepare the order.

Very good food and pleasant surroundings

Order was over 2 hours later than the predicted arrival time, by this time I heard nothing from just eat after contacting driver and restaurant. Driver finally arrived at 10:30pm but by this time I had already ordered and eaten another takeaway, not great….

The service was great, and I was a big fan of the environment. Food arrived at a good time and the quality was high. Could not ask for more

Always a friendly greeting here! Staff are the perfect mix of friendly and helpful without hovering or being intrusive. It really is worth getting the app before visiting ( remember to ‘check in’ on the app) and staff are always happy to help you navigate the app to get the best offers… you can even pay the bill on the app if you’re in a hurry. The restaurant is smart and clean with great character and we were lucky to be tucked away in a side room for a quiet lunch. The pizzas are fresh and tasty and a glass of fizz won’t break the bank. Will definitely visit again for everything from a lunch break to a birthday !

Once again pizza express have done us proud.. we went as a family a few days before my birthday. We’re regular punters - maybe every 3 weeks - so have ‘gold’ on the app. This apparently entitled the beloved and I to a bottle of chablis(£45), which together with the other deals they had running - gave us 3 starters, 4 mains, 3 deserts and drinks all round for under £35! Pizza was great as always - if a little slow (it was Friday night)- and the girls didn’t get their favourite treat of making their own deserts .. but still a great evening . Thanks PE Farnham.

Pizzas are good but the service was quite bad. We spent more time waiting for the food than eating the food. Very slow service when the restaurant was empty.

My order was missing an item and they won’t answer the phone or reply. The pizza was also cold. Wish I’d looked at reviews before ordering.

Absolutely awful and very frustrating. Waiting 1 hour 55 minutes.My children were starving and waiting up until 10pm. 2nd time this has happened with just eat.Rang restaurant twice who said fault lay with just eat.freezing cold on arrival.Awful

The layout’s a bit quirky as it’s inside a listed building on Castle Street and I suspect the conservatory area gets hot in the summer. We had an early evening family meal and have to say staff were friendly and attentive. Our 7yr old grandson nearly always insists on visiting Pizza Express if given the choice and as the menu’s quite varied there’s something to suit most tastes.

Good, fast pizza. Lots of selection. Clean, helpful friendly staff. The Double is the best. They have two crust choices. Either is good

I would like to thank all the team at Pizza Express in Farnham as they always makes my family feel welcome, whenever we come. Everyone is so welcoming and polite. My girls like the Italian waiter Gero the most, as he always treats them as a princesses and let them to prepare they own puddings. It’s so lovely to see their happy faces 😃 I would always highly recommend Farnham Pizza Express as go to restaurant for a family meal or dinner with partner, as they have many lovely corner tables with dimmed lights. Lovely atmosphere. The orders are always taken promptly and are being served very quick and piping hot Thank you for all your kindness and service. We cannot wait to see you soon.

Three of us had booked in for dinner lastnight. We were shown to a table, drinks ordered and food ordered shortly after. For starters, we ordered the Dough Balls Al Forno and Mushroom Arancini, which were both very nice. For mains, we ordered the 'Nduja Calzone, Penne Al Forno and Pollo Pesto. The Calzone was very tasty. The Penne al Forno was quite bland and you could taste the pasta more than any of the cheeses. The Pollo Pesto was ok but once you had a few mouthfuls of pesto, it became a little same old. Neither pasta dishes were finished. The waitress was very pleasant and mentioned if there was an issue and they were told sooner, they would have offered a different dish. For deserts, we ordered the Baked Vanilla Cheesecake and Chocolate Brownie, which were both very nice. Although we hadn’t yet requested it, the bill arrived but it had to be sent back as we had some vouchers to use. It then came back but with three added drinks on. This was because when we were shown to our table, we were asked for our drinks order. And then when our food was ordered, the waiter re-added the drinks back on. So we had to send the bill back up again, which was finally corrected. Although a couple of the mains weren’t that tasty and there was a slight issue with the bill, the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

I'm shocked and disillusioned at some of these negative reviews of cold food and the likes. It was my first time visiting Pizza express Farnham last week and the service at restaurant is top-notch! The staff are friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Kudos to the entire team! My family were served by a waiter called Greo in the conservatory, which in itself was a lovely area to eat. I can’t thank him enough for their fantastic service. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests and made us feel like VIPs. We’ll be back, thanks to them! He knew the menu, offered great recommendations, and cared about guest feedback. The children loved him and they talked about our recent holiday. Overall, dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service, and charming ambiance made for a memorable experience. Thank you Gero and team!

I am a repeat customer of this business, and they never disappoint. The team is always friendly and helpful, the young Italian gentleman (Gerlando?) is particularly outstanding. He went out of his way to help and explain to achieve the best way to use/apply a voucher (as could only use 1) to apply to our meal. I've recommended them to all my friends and family, and I will continue to do so. It is a Warm and friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed every bite of my meal, and the staff were attentive without being overbearing, meeting any needs I had. I shall be returning!! The new varieties of dough ball are to die for, especially enjoying the honey and chilli ones. Calamari is also a lovely start. Pizza are always perfectly cooked. Before you let a review sway your mind spend sometime reviewing the reviewer. It seems some people are just too hard to please with their dinning expectations and experiences. (I'm looking at you)

While our overall experience at the restaurant was satisfactory, we encountered some disappointing moments with the service, particularly from a young Italian waiter. Following the departure of another customer, we noticed a decline in the attentiveness and professionalism of the waiter. It became apparent that he was more preoccupied with engaging in conversation with another diner, discussing about the customer who just left. Which was apparently the CEO of Pizza Express, discussing her personal matters rather than attending to the needs of the diners. What lead to the 1 star for Service was when it came time to settle our bill using a voucher. He encountered an issue scanning the QR code which was met with unhelpful response and cold shoulder from the waiter. While I understand that technical errors can occur, the lack of basic customer service or empathy in handling the situation left a sour taste. I even asked the waiter to try another machine or type in the QR code, however I was just brushed off. Sadly wont be returning to Farnham Pizza Express purely because the Service from one staff member.

Hello - I ordered at 1:30 pm on 6th May 2024. I received my order at 16:00. I am unhappy with this delay of 2 and half hours and want a refund.

It took two hours for our food to arrive, quoted 45minutes.

Had a very nice time at pizza express it was busy with a few parties but they were nearly finished so we had a good meal my husband had a calzone l had a pizza florentine taking off olives and replacing them with mushrooms that’s better because we belong to the club we got some free

It was not a busy time, being 6pm on a Sunday, but the service was noticeably slow between one starter arriving and the rest of the meals. It seemed that this was due to a lot of deliveries or takeaways being dealt with. The serving staff were frustrated and the cooks under pressure. This is the wrong way round. The in-house customers sat at tables should be prioritised over all the boxes being prepared. As we were sat by the cooking area, we could see what was going on. The serving staff were good and, without us asking, gave a good discount for the delay. Get your priorities right, Pizza Express!

Great food, lovely service, and very reasonably priced.

Been a regular here for several years. The ambience, food, drinks and service makes one come back for more. It is located in a quiet lovely area and we always do a walk after dinner to round off the lovely evening. Tip: The friendly staff are multi task and it may take some time to get their attention, so be willing to wait. They are busy, not ignoring you lol.

order arrived an hour late. was cold. pizza express was lovely on phone and said it was an issue wjth just eat- no one turned up to deliver my order. pizza itself was yummy but so late and i had no updates on app until it arrived so had no idea if it would come or not. also was unable to get any sort of refund. totally unacceptable. and apparently this happens alot so dont buy from here

The delivery is currently over 2 hours late. The status has changed to delivered and no delivery has arrived!!!!!

Ordered just 1 pizza, took over 1 hour 30 mins to arrive (double the original time estimate) and when it finally did arrive it was stone cold and tiny. Never making that mistake again - dominos every time from now.

Placed order at circa 6PM. Said would be delivered between 6.50 and 7.10. It got to 9PM and we had to go out with it eating. Finally came to door at 9.30PM. What a joke. Refund me fully please

The margherita pizza was cold and wasn't sliced very well. There was also a lot of pepper on top and it was difficult to eat.

Although Ive been a regular Pizza Express customer for many years, it was our first time visiting the Farnham branch and we really enjoyed our experience. From the friendly staff at the front of house who welcomed us in and seated us, to the great waiter that served us throughout our visit. He provided genuine, happy and polite customer service, interacting with the kids and generally bringing a fun atmosphere. The food as always was of a high standard and exactly what we would expect from pizza express. There is a nice atmosphere & ambience in the restaurant and we will definitely be back soon! Thanks for a great New Years Eve experience

Cannot recommend this place enough, the staff here are so lovely! I've been here so many times, and the staff are always kind and helpful. The food is perfect aswell, the takeaways are just as good as eating in 🍕

Cold food, tiny dough balls, delivered late

For full transparency I've never been a fan of pizza express, its always felt like a student hang out that's trying to be better than its contemporary pizza houses. This didn't disappoint! At 5pm on a Friday one expects families, kids, the usual mix of quiet unassuming groups and the surrey loud-mouthed types, who's kids are the only kids in town etc. Anyway we settled in, the service started ok, drinks, and then nothing. We had to find a waitress who came and we ordered. Drinks came, but the food took some time. Indeed we were asked if we wanted more drinks before it did. On arrival one pzza had a huge hole in the middle, no dough! Just a thin layer filling!! We returned it, the waitress said she'd not noticed it. One of our party had a gluten free pizza, it was small and cold! Not good. The pizza with a hole was returned, re-cooked and dough added, it was hard and much of the filling had been moved around! Two blond hairs pultruded from it! We go on with things, extracted the hair and finished the meal. When asked if we enjoyed the meal I did mention the cold and small pizza, the hole in the pizza and the hairs!! The Manager shrugged and winced a little! One point, we did notice that the staff seemed to congregate constantly around the food prep area, naturally one assumes as this is where they collect the food to deliver to tables. but, only the cooks wore hats, the others had long hair, over face, shoulders, one even had what looked like post wash wet hair!! It just felt grotty. What to say, the food here isn't cheap, £65-70 for 3 of us, one beer, a small glass of wine, one lemonade and 3 pizza's - its chunky on the purse strings. I understand the factory like focus of these restaurants but there is no excuse for small and cold portions and dreadful presentation. The staff were nice people but the service was nothing more than lip service and giggling staff more focused on chatting to each other than client facing care doesn't give a great dynamic. One feels very much like 'just a customer', that plenty more where you come from vibe. As I said at the start of this review, the chain has always felt like its mainstay clients are customers claiming % off deals. It needs to be, the quality of the food versus the price we paid was wholly erroneous and the level of service really does reflect its lowly performance as a not to be recommend eatery.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing... you can feel like you are in a family place... my daughter fell in love with this place and these people over ... The food was also very tasty... congratulations to the team for such a high standard 😉💪

Food never showed with status of delivered! Phoned Pizza Express who said the order was sitting in the Restaurant going cold and that this is standard practice from Just Eat! They don’t turn up collections! And an hour and half wait for nothing apart from a starving family and £50 lighter! Not sure where the GPS tracker was going without my order! Avoid just eat! I would submit 0 stars for this service if the app allowed!

Ordered a delivery from pizza express Farnham at lunchtime. When we reached the hour mark we contacted online support to find out what was going on, the Uber driver had been waiting at the restaurant 30 minutes. We rang the restaurant, only to be told by an Italian male on the phone that they are understaffed, busy, and the restaurant takes priority over our order. He concluded the call with 'it will be with you when it's with you'. When we got our delivery 90 mins after placing the order on a Monday lunchtime, our 'thin and crispy' romana pizza was soggy and more like the classic base. Not even worth the wait. Won't bother again!

Table for 5 for a birthday meal Put in a room upstairs away from the main restaurant which was very cold, must have forgotten we were there as 45 minutes between courses seemed a bit excessive so not an overly enjoyable experience. Been before and thoroughly enjoyed it, staff are nice

Staff really rude white clean shave guy doesn't speak well English and serving really rude staff need training be police and humble with customers at least .I think white clean shave guy was incharge at time when I visited .never recommend this place

I love this restaurant,its always so beautifully laid out,looks brilliant and smells even better! 😍 the food was fantastic, tried a few new items as well as the classics,all delicious, the staff were so friendly and helpful as we had an allergy. Highly recommend

Absolutely disgusting customer service! My friends and I went in to the Farnham Pizza Express today. We were a quite large group (6 adults and 3 kids) and hadn’t booked but we just thought we would enquire. The man on the front desk was awful to us right from the beginning, even though we were just asking, saying things like ‘God, good planning guys’ in an awful sarcastic voice, doing a big thumbs up sign and rolling his eyes. It was completely unnecessary, especially as the place was basically empty. It was like he was shaming us but our plans had changed as it was pouring outside. All he had to say was, sorry we don’t have space. He started trying to find us a table but was making a huge thing of it, and complaining to other staff members so we just left disgusted. It really ruined our day and we would never go back to this place. Avoid!

Stick to Pizza, anything else we tried that was cooked was way below expectation. Melanzane was dreadful, no comparison to other restaurants and only if you like red onions on everything, order the bruschetta and garlic prawns…both extraordinarily awful and lacking any culinary skill.

I have fond memories of this place but it’s a sorry state now. The service is very slow/poor and repeatedly has words like “perfect”… I’m not wanting to bring anyone down however this place needs a total overhaul. The starter was awful, I’ll not be back. Very disappointing.

Lovely food as always. It's a bit loud in there and we were placed in a very big room with the kitchen so it was quite echoey and noisy. I recommend for a lunch, or an adverage dinner. But if you want something more intimate go somewhere else. Also I went in with someone else and we were placed on a table for 6?! Bit odd

Very average with over-average pricing. Restaurant wasn't busy yet the service was slow and inattentive. Pizzas lacklustre and quite expensive - desserts too.

Food is improved over the last few months. Staff friendly and helpful. The price for 2 adults and 2 children was nearly £100.00. It is really expensive and not worth it for 4 ordinary pizzas and apple juice. At 7.95 for ice cream and chocolate Brownie the whole experience was daylight robbery.

Well over an hour late. Restaurant passes the buck to just eat. Just eat make no response. Delivery driver blames other drivers. Result: I pay for a dry sat there for over an hour useless pizza. No recourse. Useless at all ends. All at fault.

We booked a table for eight pm on the Saturday of Farnham carnival and arrived five minutes early. We had a pleasant welcome and were sat down promptly. We ordered our drinks and food after ten minutes and received the drinks after a few minutes. The restaurant was busy due to the carnival and as we were sat near the door we noticed a number of walk ins were being turned away due to the number of customers in the restaurant. There were at least ten tables free when I took a visit to the conveniences so I wonder why the customers were being turned away. The restaurant does cater for pizza for collection and they were still carrying out this service. Our food took nearly forty minutes to come out and when my pizza arrived a hot spicy guseppi it did not match up to the one I'd received from the pizza express in gunwharf keys ,where both the food and service was excellent. We as a family were very disappointed with the experience and felt the staff didn't really want to be there and sooner be at home. We frequently visit pizza express as all the family enjoy eating out and pizza is our favourite food. Unfortunately on this occasion this Farnham restaurant failed to meet our expectations.

Ordered from Deliveroo from your branch. Not sure if you left the other half of the dough in the oven but these Doughballs are the size of my fingernail!

Great food & service Bit warm early on before the Air-con came on

A disappointing visit to Pizza Express. It started with choosing a table at the back by the open sliding doors. It wasn't great as people decided to come on this way and expect you to move your chair to let them through. So, moved table only to be told by a server that it was booked even though no sign of a reservation on it. The server had a bit of an attitude which I didn't appreciate. So, moved table again. We had a different server this time and she took our order for starters and drinks and all started well..... Then my wife's salad turned up, all good....then my Pizza turned up, I thought, but it wasn't so had to send it back. Then when the "correct" pizza turned up I had to complain. If you order a Burnt ends Pizza you'd at least expect to be able to do some meat, nope, this as the server stated was mixed into the BBQ sauce! I'd didn't have a microscope to look. I was asked at this point if I'd like to order another pizza. Having wasted so much time I declined and ate what had been presented. All I can say is that it was OK, but could've been a Vegetarian version to be honest. At the end of the Meal I spoke to the Manager to explain my disappointment with not only the Pizza but the visit. He was very apologetic and removed my Pizza from the bill. Pizza Express should be embarrassed about selling this alleged BBQ burnt ends pizza. I would not consider a revisit to any Pizza Express based on this visit.

Very nice Pizza at Pizza Express. I had a calzone, which stayed hotter than most pizzas, which was a plus. Tasted very nice.

Visited this evening with 2 of my friends and ordered 2 pizzas and one pasta. The two pizzas base were burnt to crisp and the pasta tubes were hard and undercooked!

Me & my partner ordered of Just Eat & waited over an hour for it to arrive! We called the restaurant & explained the situation & the guy on the phone was very apologetic & gave us a contact number to call & seemed very eager to help us sort out the situation. Me & my partner reported it & a couple minutes later received a call from Pizza Express (the same guy) & he was so lovely! Told us he would send another one for free & apologised again! Such a lovely, kind deed to do. We both really appreciated it, unfortunately, we didn’t get his name but we just wanted to say how grateful we were for this service! Definitely went above & behond!

Toilets pretty grim - gents was smelly and had a broken sink, which another customer mentioned had been broken for weeks.. Not sure the staff should be vaping over the food in the kitchen, either... Can't recommend.

I know it’s a Saturday night, but I ordered 1 pizza at 19:30 and it arrived at 21:28. And it was cold. They could have messaged, or refused the order.

Excellent service, and the food was amazing, great all round at the Farnham restaurant.

Very poor service. Prioritising deliver orders over customers sitting in the restaurant. Customers complaining about undercooked food and having to wait ages. Probably the worst Pizza Express that I've visited which is a shame as it's a nice venue in a great location but very poorly run.

Food ordered at 18.19 told would be here between 19.10 and 19.30..arrived at 20.30. Food was cold and hard. I would like a full refund

Racist, we came in and the restaurant was empty on a Sunday night. We were told that it was fully booked 10 minutes from when we walked in. If you have coloured skin don't expect a warm welcome at this branch. Shocking really. Asked a few friends who confirmed they experienced the same.

Poor quality, no chicken in pollo pesto and less than have the usual dish. Very oily and poor quality.

Came here by myself whilst waiting for my friend to finish work. Really fast service and the staff were so nice. Rahul was so sweet and the food was really good. I always find it weird eating alone in public but genuinely the staff made me feel so welcome. Would 100% eat here again. 10/10

The new Fungi di Bosco is lovely. Service was superb.

First visit for a surprise party for a friend and was so impressed with the staff, the service, the food and the restaurant itself. The kitchen is open to view and very noisy, but is great to watch the team at work with a busy service for customers eating in and takeaway. Garlic bread and mozzarella to start, La Reine pizza classic base for main and 2 Sprite came to £28, and the food was piping hot and delicious. Toilets are very clean and have step to access. Restaurant is lovely, nice atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Too much herbs and seasoning compared to usual.

Went out for a family meal. Pizza express usually can’t go wrong with a 5 year old. Service was shocking, waitress didn’t listen to anything we said, kids meal came out 10mins after ours, the presentation of salads was not the same of any other pizza express I have been to & half the ingredients were missing. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Definitely a place to avoid when visiting Farnham.
