I booked afternoon tea as a lunch a few weeks prior to visiting with a few dietary requirements. Karen and her team could not have been more accommodating.
When we arrived (13 of us), the tables had been moved so we could all sit together, and the table looked elegant and inviting. The food was delicious and plentiful, all fresh with a varied selection. The cakes, scones, and tiny banoffee pie were delicious, we could barely move when we left, we were so full!
I highly recommend Bessie's Tea Parlour, the staff are lovely and attentive, and my guests from both here and overseas were thoroughly impressed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. We visited for my friends birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special. Marc kindly sourced Turbot for our mains despite it being off the menu. The vegetarian meal he prepared for one of our party was much appreciated and enjoyed. Can't fault anything.
We had an amazing meal at The Med, the food was delicious and the staff were lovely, despite having to deal with some very tricky customers. Eleanor and her team handled the situation incredibly well considering. We would go back to the Med again and again especially for the milkshakes!!
Had a fantastic pizza lunch with my husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs today. Great pizza. Great service, made to feel welcome, including our dogs. Beautiful contemporary design. Loved it on our mini holiday in Margate.
Really outstanding lunch, the menu is always changing and always excellent and really good value for money. Lovely views too. Give this place a whirl before paying three times as much for somewhere with a Michelin star.
The Old Kent Market is a charming little spot right next to Margate beach. It looks great from the outside, with a few benches out front to sit and enjoy the view.
Inside, it’s spread over two floors, though I was expecting it to be a bit bigger. There are a few places to grab a bite — like a bakery, some takeaway stalls, and a quirky bus café. There’s a communal seating area in the middle, but it can feel a bit cramped during busy times. Lots of interesting little shops selling unique items like handmade jewellery and vintage-style clothing.
Overall, a nice visit, but a bit disappointing as I was hoping for a bit more variety and space.
A great place to eat the minestrone soup was fantastic and the pizza toppings were generous. Highly recommend this family run traditional Italian restaurant.
