Had breakfast and coffee. Nothing special was just ok. Coffee very under par and service was too familiar! Opening welcome we learnt all about the waitresses holiday, when she got back and the weather she had! Didn’t really want to know and we didn’t ask her anyway!

Partner bought a vegetarian chilli, on getting the receipt she was actually given a beef chilli! The manager on duty didnt care in the slightest and didn't even say sorry!! Phoned to speak to the manager to complain and was just told she wasn't there! If you care about customer service and getting the right food then avoid this place like the plauge!!

Just been here for our dinner but at lunchtime me and my partner had pizzas buy one get one free Thursday which was good, first time place for us and we loved it also the strawberry and banana smoothie was nice it cooled me down and then followed by blackberry crumble ice cream and double chocolate chip ice cream. We sat outside it was quite busy as it's one of the hottest days today. Will come again as we really enjoyed it.

Recently met up with a group of friends for an early evening meal and drinks. We live locally and like to try the various bars and restaurants. We chose the Med because we often go for coffee and drinks, the Piazza area where it is situated is extremely nice and relaxing.The atmosphere and service is always pleasant. I had not previously had a meal here. On arrival the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The service was smooth and efficient. The highlight for myself was the meal, I had the Baked fish and can honestly say it was the nicest meal I have had when eating out for a very long time. All members of our party were in agreement that the quality of food and service was outstanding. Great value for money. Will definitely recommend to friends and be back.

We first stopped here for coffee and milkshake and was served by some young ladies very pleasant and happy to please the female Easter bunny especially cute The next day we booked a table inside for an evening meal we arrived and was sat just inside the door of the small inside of the restaurant the young lady serving us took our starters and main course order we waiter a few minutes then our meal came up starters and main course all together apparently the chef had made both starters and main course together we were not happy firstly we wanted to eat the starters at a nice pace then our main course and secondly there wasn’t a lot of room on the table we complained but the food was already done the young lady kept apologising but it was the chef that messed up not her eventually we got 10% discount the food was tasty and filling but because of the mix up some of it was cold and we were left a bit annoyed by the chefs cock up

Had to pop in here unplanned. Fish and chips was way below average and the service was very slow. Even the chips tasted poor.

The menu in the place was nothing like the one online. Very little choice available and expensive. Unbelievably some drinks were bought from the adjacent premises. The staff were somewhat offhand and didn't seem to know what was or was not available. The premises were scruffy and not at all welcoming.

Disappointing and not worth what we paid. Visited the Ice Cream and Milkshake venue attached to the Med today, because we had passed it several times before, and curiosity got the better of us. Overall an expensive disappointment to be honest. When we arrived at the door, there were several chairs stacked on tables, which made us think it was closed. There was a couple of people in there however, so took a chance in asking if they were still open. Turns out they were. Another thing that struck me about the place was how dark it was, not something one would generally associate with an ice cream parlour, but at the end of the day, decor is not that relevant. In terms of options, despite there being a couple of dozen flavours of ice cream, only three varieties of milkshake were offered, chocolate, strawberry or banana. Not particularly exciting, but we were at the counter now, so difficult to change course, so we went for 2 x Chocolate ones. The next shock was the price! £6.50 each... a bit steep I thought, because 2 scoops of any ice-cream is £5 and we were given a measly 1 scoop per drink. In the end what we got had a texture not much thicker than milk, with very little chocolate flavour. We'd have produced better at home. I can't help but question why they didn't just give us two scoops per serving, then at least we would have had a thick and chocolatey shake, ensuring that we would feel a little bit better about forking out £13 for 2 drinks. Its a real lost opportunity for this business, because I'll likely not be back again.

We had a great experience at The Med Margate. The food’s delicious, well presented, and really good value. We went three times—lunch, breakfast and dinner—and loved each visit. Big shoutout to Eleanor who was so lovely, super helpful and really friendly with our kids too. At dinner I asked if they could make the seafood pasta I’d had at lunch (even though it wasn’t on the menu anymore) and they said yes—such a nice touch! Great food, great service, family friendly vibe. Highly recommend!

worst pasta I ever had... Seafood pasta with 3 prawns in and whole jar of chilli... As I try to talk with waitress as food is not eatable answer was "oh sorry". Perfect place to go if you wanna pay 16£ and leave hungry..

We have been to the Med on a few occasions, and generally had good food. We went back, because it’s dog friendly and we know it, or so we thought. We ordered a garlic and mozzarella pizza to share before our food arrived, that was absolutely delicious. We ordered, 2 x spicy chicken, one salt beef sandwich and one fish pie. The chicken dishes arrived and was not as expected it was small slices of chicken coated in a ‘spice’ that was just ok. The salt beef sandwich was inedible as a unit because the meat was so tough it had to be deconstructed to cut with a knife and fork. The fish pie was tasty, but just that, fish pie, no veg or even a sprig of parsley. The staff weren’t very observant and our table was left crowded with our plates etc, until we asked for it to be cleared. I regret not asking for my sandwich to be taken off the bill really, but the staff maybe should have asked if there was a problem with it, seeing as it was barely eaten, when you pay £15 for a sandwich, it should at least be edible. I don’t like to leave this sort of review, so I hope this is constructive, rather than destructive criticism and that the Med take a look at their future offerings.

We had an amazing meal at The Med, the food was delicious and the staff were lovely, despite having to deal with some very tricky customers. Eleanor and her team handled the situation incredibly well considering. We would go back to the Med again and again especially for the milkshakes!!

Lovely venue for cycle ride lunch. Great host, well stocked bar and good food. Wife had green pasta and I had oven baked fish with a tasty tomato sauce. Reasonably priced and huge potential for cosy evening stress drink

I, my Dad, my Brother and my Daughter have been going to this place for coming upto 5 years nearly daily at at this point and we have never had a bad expericne even when the place is ram busy during the summer. The food every single time has been amazing and well priced with the menu adding seasonal options/mixing it up every so often, the staff every single time has been amazing, the buiding itself is charming and beautiful inside and out, the owners are incredibly good people and many a times you see them in there working there themselves, the location is perfect and during the days of good wheather has plenty of outdoor seating. I don't know what more you could want from the place. You could't pay me to find something wrong with the place nor the experience of going there. It is one of the few places I eat at when in Margate and i'm very much sure I and the rest of my family will be eating there for many many years to come.

Arrived At 1pm For Food, Allowed Us To Have The Breakfast Menu Even Though Was After Breakfast Time, Good Selection Of Choices From Fry Ups To Waffles, Very Good Service From A Lovely Lady And Really Good Value As Only £50 For 5 Of Us With Drinks

Absolutely delicious English breakfast, all perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced. The owners were absolutely delightful and nothing was too much trouble. Sadly visited on my last morning in Margate otherwise would have definitely returned! Such a lovely experience in a great establishment, thank you.

Exactly what was required on a cold, wet & windy afternoon in Margate. Great location, warm welcome, cosy atmosphere, great food & very reasonable prices. Children’s meals were a big hit & the lentil soup was to die for - I’m still thinking about it now! Highly recommend if ever you’re in town.

Lovely atmosphere, dog friendly, even though my dogs are quite big, the gentleman cleared a corner table for us, so that my dogs could have more room and be more comfortable The food was delicious, we had the tapas and the plates were plenty enough for two to share, Lovely relaxed atmosphere, We will definitely be visiting again

Ate here 2 weeks ago and returned again today with my partner and 2 kids. The lady that served us remmebered all our food and drink orders from last time and the food was yet again amazing. Fab portions, every meal was yummy and she even gave my daughter a free brownie when we left as she had been eyeing them up. We ade foing to make it our regular whenever we visit. X

January is always a quiet time for restaurants and pubs, so it was great to go to the Med today on a cold winters lunchtime! Owners are so welcoming to all and will do their best to accommodate every individuals needs. Had a fabulous home-made Bean stew.. just delicious and I am not a vegetarian!

Lovely place to go, post Christmas and New Year. Friendly atmosphere with excellent homemade food offerings! Had the best Bean Stew ever today and I am not a vegetarian! Portions are generous and if you request a tweak to the menu to suit your individual needs the owners and staff will do their upmost best to accommodate your requests! Thoroughly recommend to visitors and locals for a reasonable dining experience or just for a drink!

I've been here twice now with my teenage son and we love it. The lady who served us both times (who also has a teenage son the same age as mine) is so lovely. Food is reasonably priced, tastes delicious and quick to table even when it's really busy. The place is also dog friendly which is great. It's more like a restaurant squeezed into a cafe so room is tight. I dropped a star on atmosphere reluctantly because frankly the place needs some TLC. It could do with a good scrub and the loo needs some decor. Please don't let this put you off. It's rustic but what I could see of the kitchen was clean and the food was well cooked. We live an hour's drive away and came back especially. And we will be back again. I'm very happy 😊

Me and my parter are visiting Margate for the weekend for pre Christmas and came across the med it was a wet Saturday morning and we was looking at the menu in the rain and then a member of staff came out and asked if we needed any help a nice touch if you ask me went in and sat down staff very helpful we order ld coffee and breakfast and nothing was to much to ask for drinks arrived in no time and was really good coffee for arrived shortly after and food was on point I had the English breakfast and my partner had the double sausage bap and great value will highly recommend and if in the area again we shall return

I have had two cheeseburger and chips meals this week - one at a village gastro pub and one at The Med. No com parison - The med's festive burger was very good - tasty, substantial and £10 cheaper than the one served at the pub. Well done Mark - another great meal.

Friendly cafe/restaurant/bar in Margate old town near the Turner art gallery. Just visited for coffee and cake which is £5 Monday to Friday. Nice piece of carrot cake, a good sized portion so I thought it was good value. They serve jacket potatoes for around £8 with various fillings and do breakfasts to. I believe they also have a tapas menu for evening times. There is parking about 5 minutes away. I paid £3.50 to park for two hours

We arrived on the day for a table of six and they were so accommodating. The service from Elena and the food from chef Eric was amazing. Highly recommend! The family and I really enjoyed our meal and will deffo come back again!

Went in on a Sunday afternoon with 6 of us. The place was busy and Elena was the only FOH staff working but she delivered an efficient and friendly service. Food was great and came out in a timely manner so credit to Eric the chef as well!

We stopped by for lunch midweek. Very dog friendly and welcoming. Dog offered a little treat and water bowl without even asking, that's us not having to ask, not the dog Warm and cosy inside. Friendly staff, quick service. Veggie pizza was lovely and they were more than happy to make changes to it, and when one of our group could not finish it they proactively offered a take away box. Lovely touch.... Big range of drinks but we were not on the cocktails. Really welcoming, lovely place. We will be back andvgreat value too as it happened to be two for one pizza on Thursday!

Food was delicious and great tasting, service was fast and efficient, very friendly atmosphere. Could not to do enough to ensure we were happy… dog 🐕 friendly which is a big bonus and why we choose to have our breakfast there.. Thank you Sammy for looking after us including Sydney the dog.

Excellent Bolognese and garlic bread. Bolognese was probably better than my own and i don't say thay lightly! Host/server, Eleanor, was attentive and polite. Highly recommended.

Great experience, we were given the warmest welcome by all of the staff and our dogs were given a little dog biscuit each and a bowl of water on arrival. The food was lovely, good ingredients cooked perfectly. The restaurant looked clean and was a good atmosphere. We were served by Abigail who was so incredibly friendly and helpful, it was clear that she genuinely cared about providing the best service, she spoke so positively of the restaurant, and is the reason we will return again.

Lovely food, great value - would recommend the prawn sandwich as it comes with chips and salad. Chips are really crispy!!!!

I went to The Med in Margate looking forward to a relaxed afternoon with some Mediterranean-inspired dishes. I ordered a couple of pizzas and prawns, and while the pizzas were overly oily, I had high hopes for the prawns. Unfortunately, that was a huge mistake. Not long after my meal, I felt queasy. My stomach grew more unsettled as the night went on, and by midnight, I was fighting waves of nausea. After that, I spent the night in the bathroom, both throwing up and dealing with some seriously unpleasant stomach issues. I suspect it was the prawns that pushed things over the edge; they tasted a bit off but didn’t seem worrying enough at the time. This was hands-down one of my worst dining experiences. I’m hoping this was a one-off incident, but if you’re thinking of ordering the seafood here, you might want to think twice.

Gal serving was lovely, but the food wasn't anything special. Also there was a thick, strong smell of oil in the air whilst eating that was quite unpleasant.

I've visited for a leisurely late breakfast twice recently after walking my dog on the beach. Both experiences have been positive. Clean premises, friendly staff, prompt service and freshly cooked food. A cooked breakfast, sourdough toast and an excellent cup of coffee for just over £10. Dogs welcomed with a biscuit and a bowl of water. I'll certainly be back.

My partner and I popped in to The Med for coffee and cake. Real bargain at £4.95 during the week. Eleanor was very welcoming and explained the specials on the menu and told us of other meals that are available. The coffee and the cakes were both delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting on a rainy day. Would highly recommend

Lovely little place on the seafront, not too busy today but I can imagine during the summer it is rammed. Very impressed with the range of gluten free options available. There was plenty of choice and the pizza and pasta dishes could be done GF too. Vegan and veggie options were listed as well but I didn’t look at them in detail. My husband was impressed with how spicy the chilli was. Will definitely come back again.

We had a roast dinner today and we all order different meats chicken beef and gammon and they were all so good. Roast potatoes were really good just like the ones you make at home and loads of them. Plenty of flavoursome gravy and topped up without having to ask. Cauliflower cheese served separately, just how I like it. Veg was really good and plenty of it. To top it off homemade apple crumble and custard. Will def be returning - 10/10

If you want a breakfast with a difference try the scrambled egg and chorizo ... spot on and excellent service. Ideal place to park my motorbike and chill out with tasty grub

I went here yesterday, as a coeliac I'm always happy to see it say gluten free on the menu. The first thing I did when we arrived was to tell the waitress I cannot have gluten, she informed me that they do gluten free pizzas and quesadilla so I asked for a chicken and chorizo gluten free quesadilla, when it arrived I checked again that it was gluten free, she confirmed it was so I confidently tucked in. After a few mouthfuls the waitress comes over to inform me that it is fact not Gluten free as she accidentally hadnt put it through as Gluten free, knowing how sick I get I was terrified and headed straight to the toliet to make myself sick unfortunately despite this I was still very unwell being physically sick for hours and feeling like my body was shutting down. Today I still feel unwell and have a terrible headache. This is totally unacceptable, they could kill someone. I'm always worried about eating out and places like this are the reason why.

We stopped here for lunch randomly whilst we were in garage this is a nice little cafe and restaurant that offers good food, good portions, and at a good price. Staff and freindly and there is an optionnto site in an ourside sinin area on a sunny day. The only letdown being the salt beef was not ready at the time of our visit (the fishfinger had instead sandwich was brilliant), but we will definitely be visiting here again on our next visit.

Lunchtime pizza and children’s pasta both excellent. Friendly and quick service. And it’s in a nice spot with lots of outdoor tables.

When the weather is good this place has a fantastic out door eating space, great if you have kids and you need a bit of room. Service was good, seen to the table quickly, very attentive and polite and gave recommendations when asked. A young team but operating beyond their years. Food was pretty basic to be honest, that said it was nice and the portions were big, so after a long day walking around I was grateful for the calories and none of us had any complaint. Price was reasonable given the seating avaliable and the portion sizes. Would recommend to others for a brunch,lunch or early dinner whilst the sun's still out.

Waiters show you to a seat with a lovely seafront view , food and coffee arrives very quickly, food is superb quality and the coffee is great too. Very nice place to have breakfast and excellent value

The setting is great, alongside the beach and great atmosphere with choice of outdoor seating. The menu looked great. However really disappointed with our food, not at all worth the money and poor standard. Good was served like warm. The batter on the fish was soggy. Chips pretty poor. The fish bowl was really disappointing, felt it was similar quality/ taste to the prawns and squid you get in the freezer counter at the supermarket. No kids menu but offered a few dishes that could be child sized. 2 fish fingers, chips and beans £6 - fish fingers were like the frozen basic supermarket kind. Bolognese was delicious, a huge portion, £7 for my 4 year old. Given it was a custom request, felt it could have been smaller and cheaper. Would not return or recommend.

We had a great family meal and few drinks at the Med in Margate. We were strolling through for a decent place on a weekend and decided to go here. We ordered number of things including pizza, flatbread, fish and chips, etc. and few beers for the order. The food was spot on, well seasoned and served nice and hot. The drinks were also served chilled, I really enjoyed them while sitting out in the sun. Biggest thanks to their staff members. They ensured that guests felt welcomed and were paying right attention to the needs of all the tables. I would definitely go there if I visit Margate again. All the best guys.

Just had a lovely juicy burger here, staff couldn't do enough to make it good visit, even winding down the awning outside as the sun moved round. If I am ever this way again I will be back

While my friends enjoyed their quesadillas my orzoo pasta salad was poor and unimaginative. Slightly improved when I asked and got a bottle of balsamic dressing. The chef only needs to try it him/herself to see how dull and bland it is. Could so easily be improved.
