A brilliant quick fresh pizza. Been eating at this place since it opened. The pizza dough is rolled fresh in front of you. Toppings simple but excellent, he knows what goes well, today we had spinach, pastrami and Mozilla. Seasoned great. Cheap and easy a great pizza place.

We went for pizza with my son and some of his friends for his birthday. I reserved a table which I wasn't sure how it would work in the market but it was all laid out for us (and lucky we booked as the market was busy). The chef and front of house woman were super friendly, pizzas were delicious and they gave us a free Nutella pizza and sang happy birthday to my son which was the icing on the cake (or pizza!). Thank you Mama Mia - we will be back.

I am not normally a fan of pizza but this was exceptional. It's in a converted indoor market in a hawker style with various shops around a central seating / eating area. Opposite the Turner Centre. The vegetarian pizza was freshly made and was simply superb. We followed it up with coffee and ice cream from other small shops in the centre.

You won’t get a more authentic handmade pizza in England , fantastic. Love the chaotic organised chaos look , could be in Napoli .

I have been to Mamma Mia Margate about a dozen times and it truly is the best pizza you will ever eat. I travel a 140 mile round-trip to get this pizza and it is so worth it. I have eaten pizzas in London, New York, Chicago and all over Italy and nothing even comes close to Mamma Mia. I cannot recommend this place enough. The venue is perfect too...what a wonderful place. If you like pizza then head to Margate and you will not be disappointed. He also makes amazing pasta and the dough balls are the best thing you will ever eat. A masterclass in how to make Italian food.

Excellent pizza and dough balls salad and highly recommended. We were a bit disappointed with the wait. It took 45min for the pizza to be ready as there were many deliveroo orders before us and we were not aware of them when we ordered. I would not rate it less than 5 stars though as the food was excellent. But check how long is the wait before you order your pizza.

Carmine just makes the most tasty, well cooked pizzas in Thanet if not the world! We always experience great joy and contentment devouring them. He’s such a charming Italian gentleman. Amazing and true italian pizza! Have been there a few times now, and the standard does not drop! The dough was perfect, light with a bit of crunch and bite to it! Tasty tomato base and mozzarella, and good quality choice of other ingredients used too! Buonissima!

Extensive research has concluded that this is my favourite pizza in Margate

Located in Old Market town in Margate. Did look so popular with great presentation and selection of choices , including vegetarian options, so we decided to order our pizzas there. It is limited siting area there. So, if you do decide to get anything there, consider take away. We have ordered two pizzas. One was Carbonara with double cream, pancetta, mozzarella, egg and parmigiano and another was Pollo Picante with Spicy tomato sauce, mozzarella, chicken, goats cheese, red onion, garlic & chilli. Pizza prices Unless otherwise stated: 9" SMALL - £6.95 and 12" LARGE - £8.95. The waited time was about 15 min as they prepare everything from scratch. Pizzas has arrived to our table already sliced up with plenty of napkins. Girl, who brought it up was very friendly and polite. My partner seems enjoyed his choice and quality of pizza. Me, on another hand wasn't so lucky. Even though, the base was extremely thin, which I thought would be great when was ordering , end up to be way too thin, falling apart and all toppings were literally sliding off back in the box. No wooden cutleries there either! So, regretted at the end with my in particular choice of pizza. Don't let it put you off this place though, as judging by reviews, it is quite popular amongst visitors and you might be more lucky then I was with your selection and quality of pizza, calzone, puccia or pasta there! :)

Just to be clear this is not a restaurant!!! This is a takeaway. We where deceived in booking a fine Italian restaurant table, but when we got there we were surprised to find this takeaway/ food delivery service. I'm not rating here the food which might be fine ... I'm only rating the place/area which is ... let's say dodgy... and not even close with a restaurant definition.

Visited pre pandemic. Not an easy place to find. That night was particularly horrible weather and in the dark wasn't quite easy to find. Once we got in we were surprised from the surrounding. It s Like an indoor market (nearly all shops / stalls were closed tho) We sat down, only 1 other family at the table next to us was there. The owner was also the waiter, pizzaiolo and presumably also the kitchen porter. 1 man band. But he was very friendly and professional. We ordered food. For drinks there is the "pub next door". This must be the smallest pub in the county. Kid you not. Only 1 person able to stand at the bar. But it was amazing. Friendly gentleman working. Great beer too. When the food arrived The pizza was really good. Wish them the best of luck. And long lasting success.

Best pizza in the area. Carmine is a legend and puts alot of heart and soul into his food. The dough is crisp, light and tasty with good under carriage and the sauce is delicious, flavoursome and he sources the very best fresh Italian mozzarella and the cheese spread is consistent. He's a true pizza master!

I love Pizza and living in whitstable we have a great place close to out house. A rainy day in Margate yesterday took us on a adventure that lead to a cool food hall close to the beach. Well I found the best pizza place outside of Italy. Chef the pizza was out of this world. Great base and sauce. We will be back.

I've eaten here a couple of times and had takeout Pizza too. I really must do it more often and explore the menu properly. 12 inch Casa pizza today and the flavours were just so Mediterranean! Real Italian taste and £8 only (for the mathematicians out there, given that it's more than twice the size of the 8 inch in area it's a steal!). Got to try the pasta next! If you are eating in (and it's not permitted under Tier 3 rules) the Old Kent Market is rustic and quirky, with very basic tables and chairs. So it's no posh restaurant but those flavours! You won't be sorry!

Went to Mama Mia's for our Anniversary meal, they went out of their way to cook a special three course meal off menu. It was exceptional . The entire meal was cooked beautifully and tasted so good. They even made us a Chocolate Cake on the house. We would highly recommend this little place and we will be ordering from them again.

This was our 3rd time having pizza from here, and just like the times before the pizzas were beautiful, great charring and air bubbles in the crust which is a sign of a chef who really knows what they are doing in the kitchen. Nice and generous with the sauce and toppings which were also good quality. As for price, £5 for any 9" and £8 for any 12" is great value for such quality. Its So refreshing to have this on uber eats as before this place all we could order was stodgy kebab style pizza.

Tonight I rang for a pizza and carbonara pasta I received 2 pizzas one was the ham and pineapple the other I didn't know what it was . So I phoned to ask the man was shouting they dont deliver to Ramsgate . I was only asking what the other pizza was and where is the carbonara . Turns out I bought a carbonara pizza never heard of it wont be ordering carbonara pizza again

It's the first place (and last) I go to in Margate. It's tucked away in at the back of the old Kent Market. Don't be fooled by the cheap take away looking flyers. This really is the best pizza outside of London! All pizza's are fresh, on lush dough, and I believe at a cost of £8 each Pizza. Banging! The owner / chef makes fresh pasta on site, my friend opted for this and it was more Incredible than a General Levy war cry! Can't rate this place enough! Grab a pizza, sit on the steps by the sea, it's perfect! Must eat in Margate.

My kids love Dominoes and Papa John's so on take away night, we have three deliveries. I cannot describe in words how good the Mamma Mia Pizzas are and what great value... so you really have to try them to see. They are about as authentic as you can get outside of Italy, and I really want to try their pasta but just cannot get past the pizzas yet.If you want great Italian (Pizzas - cannot vouch for the pasta yet), try Mamma Mias.

Delicious pizza on an authentic dough base. The driver wore gloves before handing out boxes, rang the doorbell and left them on the mat for us. Very reassuring in these times. My vegan one with nutritional yeast was excellent. Whole family fed at reasonable cost without the greasy, sweetness of the pizza chains. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic pizza, cooked fresh. About £7/8 for a “small” pizza (not really that small) and £5 for an Italian pizza dough sandwich (Puccia?). Staff were lovely, pizza was sublime and the venue really cool. Defo head here for a pizza if you are nearby!

I reviewed this as the best local pizza last year (la migliore pizza), but the quality of the ingredients has gone down drastically. I don't know what's going on, but it's on and off here, proceed with caution. It needs to be more consistent to win me back. Sorry!

Great pizza and friendly service. Our daughters loved the pizza so much that we had pizza three times in two days! If we were staying in Margate longer I am sure we would have had more. When we were able to sneak a bite, we thought the pizza was awesome too. Part of the Old Kent Market family where there is so much great food to choose from.

I cannot impress how good these pizzas are! Handmade with passion & love from a family set up. Tasty, tasty, tasy! The garlic mayo & pesto with the homemade dough balls are AMAZING too. If you like seriously good pizza you must go.

Lovely pizza and my fussy daughter loved the pasta. The people serving were lovely with their charming Italian accent. I forgot to take a photo of my pizza I was so excited about it. The restaurant is not a restaurant as such, it is in The Old Kent Market where there are other food options. You order at the counter and you seat at the tables nearby among the hustle and bustle of the market.

My partner and I came to Margate for a weekend getaway and a friend recommended going into Old Kent Market for dinner. He was certainly right! Mamma Mia made us really amazing pasta in rather generous portions. We had the Romana and Mosliana both of which were done to perfection. Was definitely the perfect way to end a hot summer day. We visited the Old Kent Margate by chance and had a pizza there at the Mamma Mia pizzeria a pizza called the Pollo Picante with spicy tomato sauce. mozzarella cheese, chicken etc it was "great" I would recommend the Old Kent Margate and the Italian Pizza place. There is also a great really micro bar next door to the pizza place within the market. I had a pizza and a pint of real ale. A really good experience at a low price, we will visit again soon.

Found our way to this place last year after being recommended by a friend... and they were not wrong! We have been back a few times now..... Easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! The dough is UNBELIEVABLE! And the price is very good! Fed a hungry family of 4 for £30! You can tell the chef has a passion for what he does, superb food!

If you want authentic Italian pizza this place has to be top of the list. Food fantastic, prompt delivery and the prices can't be beaten. What a fantastic find and they do takeaway/delivery too.

Visited Mamma Mia Pizzeria for the first time ,as it looked so tasty and amazing. Both pizzas were top quality and one of the best pizza I have ever had. This is a must try if your near by, definitely will be returning.

As an Italian I cannot praise Carmine's pizza quality enough. His award winning dough is simply unique. My son David, who has autism and can be fussy about food, loves pizza here. We get here from Luton, and just this pizza is worth the journey.

Situated inside the Old Market building, things are a bit ad hoc but wonderful! In an unassuming and modest corner of the building is where you'll find this gem. The chef here really knows his business! - all freshly chopped ingredients prepared and added while you wait. The pizza based was perfect ecstasy and the flavour superb.

Stopped in for lunch today, loved the food and service. We haven’t had pizza this good since we were in Italy and the servings were generous, so we were able to box some up to enjoy later. We really liked the buzz of the market place and had a wander round to look at the little shops and other food bars. There aren’t many tables, but we were lucky that a family left just as we wandered in. Will definitely pop back in, next time will try the gnocchi, it all looked so good.
