The best thing about this place was the people! Really good service from our waitress and the owner. It’s a locals place but they were very welcoming and Id definitely return. Roast was great especially cauli cheese and potatoes- the veggie option could do with a bit of improving however.

Went today, with four friends, I had the beer battered cod and chips and peas, it was delicious I loved every mouthful. Great price too, the girls that served us were lovely and friendly greeted us with lovely smiles too. Thank you

Popped in for a drink before heading off for our meal. The lady that served us was very pleasant and served with a smile. Options on tap were varied altho my friends had the ale I wanted a shandy and the lady gave me options of lager. Nice atmosphere. Hadn't been here in years since we used to visit to see Blow the Duo. TV screens were on but not obtrusive. Plenty if good seating including sone lovely looking booths. Really nice bar.

We have just had my Mother’s 100th birthday celebrations at Christies Wine Bar and Sue and the staff were amazing. They could not have done more to make the afternoon so special. They were all attentive to our needs, allowed us to decorate the room and were there to ensure everyone’s needs were met. The buffet food was fantastic and everyone was catered for. Thank you so much for everything.

First time for a Roast Dinner on Sunday 14th April. One of the best roast dinners I have had, good quality food, portions large, service good, great value, will definitely be back.

Went with friends today for food and I have to say it was amazing and well priced I never struggle to clear my plate but I came close today because the portiion was very genrous....however the flavour was só good I had to persevere to the end

Lovely Sunday lunch which comes in 2 sizes .. large and small, the small is not a kids meal so it's perfect if you don't want a massive dinner, although it is still a big dinner .. Service is great, need to book as busy on Sundays.

Six of us had the Sunday roast yesterday. The food was lovely, and everyone in the party said the same. Cooked beautifully and nicely presented too. We go to Christie’s a lot, because the family atmosphere is very good, the food, whether it’s lunch or the evening specials they sometimes have, is always good too. No complaints, only compliments. Great pub, and well deserved accolades to all.

We recently hired Christie's Wine Bar for my husbands wake. First impressions are everything - Sue was very warm and friendly on the telephone, inviting me to see the venue before booking and explained what she could offer. I am so glad we chose the upstairs function room. It made a difficult day an intimate occasion with great friends and family.. Sue and the staff were lovely and the quality and amount of buffet was perfect I would not hesitate to recommend the venue to others. Thank you to Christies.

Christie’s catered for our charity shop staff lunch this week. They were incredibly helpful when it came to making arrangements, the buffet was absolutely delicious and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to everyone involved - couldn’t have gone better.

A good recommendation from a friend. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Portions were very generous - could have easily shared the side of chips between two people. Vegetarian options and alternative milk also available.

I had heard good things about the Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint. I had Beef which was delicious, my husband had pork and we ordered cauliflower cheese as a side, although, the portion sizes are very generous but we thought we'd share a side dish. It was all really tasty and the staff so warm and welcoming. We shall definitely recommend it. Thank you 😊

As usual an amazing roast dinner and dessert. We came with my mother in law and all had a roast followed by dessert. Everything was cooked beautifully and piping hot. The staff were attentive and full of smiles. Very good with our 5 year old and made her very happy with the belgian waffle☺️

We booked in advance Christies Wine Bar and Restaurant for Lunch with friends. We were welcomed, and shown to our table by a nice lady, who gave us Menu's, and took our Drinks orders. Nice varied Menu's, we all enjoyed our meals, which were delicious, although large portions, didn't leave much room for desserts! Will definitely return soon!

We come here a lot and we are never disappointed! Today we had prawn cocktail and chicken wings to start, and tuna ciabatta and ham egg and chips for mains. The starters were so tasty and fresh, good portions and great price. Mains were incredible, ham was fresh, not like the sliced rubbish that we’ve had from other places! Eggs were cooked to perfection and the chips as always are the best. The ciabatta is always soft and fresh. We love this place. Thank you Christie’s x

Had an amazing roast dinner today at Christie's. They certainly don't skrimp and it was absolutely delicious, flavoursome and filling. The staff were lovely and very helpful. And the slushy cocktails (oh go on then), yes yes yes. You must visit.

Visited Christies last week for a few drinks and the band! Bar busy but somewhat hot and stuffy due to the numbers inside, the humidity and ineffective air con! Bar staff and beer fine, band average but when outside for some air annoyed by some loud chav types constantly hard hand shaking and hugging each other! Doubt if I'll be back there!

Since moving to Birchington Sue and Paul had always made my mum and dad feel so welcome in the wine bar. So when it came to planning my dads wake it was the only place that I knew was right. Sue made everything so easy to prepare for and encouraged us to use the space upstairs how we felt was right to remember my dad. Buffet was amazing as was the bar service…nothing was too much trouble. Everyone stayed for a good few hours because of the venue; it helped us to celebrate and remember. I cannot thank them enough.

We took my aunt for lunch who lives nearby. What a lovely place to go, the staff were so friendly, the menu good, the portions generous and the food delicious! What more could you ask for? We have been before and they always live up to this very high standard, I would recommend it to people wanting a full meal or just light snack, there are options for all and you are treated the same whatever. We took our dog with us and he was able to visit without disturbing the other customers. We will definitely be going again.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch today for a large family group, and we were absolutely blown away by the food, the value and the service. I couldn’t fault anything and I’m so glad we booked here. This was our first time but it very definitely won’t be our last. Thanks so much to everyone who cooked or looked after us - you’re absolute stars.

We hired the room upstairs at Christie’s for a wake following my Mum’s funeral, Bex & Sue were extremely approachable, kind and accommodating, we had to improvise a few things along the way and nothing was to much trouble for them and they never made us feel like we were putting them out, the buffet spread was lovely and good value for money, the bar staff were lovely too . Will definitely be back for a Sunday lunch , would highly recommend this place.

Let's start with the important bits, the staff are great, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere again is friendly and the food is good. If you want a Sunday lunch you'll need to book but won't be disappointed. My only bugbear is I wish they'd get an IPA on draft. But it's more of a preference than an issue.

We went along to see the live music which is a regular feature. Popular venue, well attended.

Sunday lunch. Not cool, but very, very good. Food pretty much all delicious and _amazing_ value -- £150 for two courses for five of us, two beers, a bottle of wine and soft drinks. Also really lovely people for whom nothing is too much trouble. We will be back.

Had Sunday lunch on 26th March with my wife and two friends. Quality of the food was excellent and portions were unbelievably large. £83 for two courses for the four of us including three drinks was great value. Staffing levels were perfect and very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend

Wasn't our first vist to Christies as we've always enjoyed it. After managing to squeeze us in we ordered honey Roast ham, Turkey and Pork, all of which were fantastic. Veg was plentiful and delicious. Service was fantastic and price was reasonable. Cannot fault the meal and will be back as soon as they can fit us in.

I visited with my mum and her friend for Sunday lunch. I had roast beef ( which I asked for as pink as possible). It was very tasty. The vegetables are well cooked and they are delicious. My mum and her friend had roast turkey....

We all had a brilliant time on Saturday evening for the karaoke night. The staff were brilliant very friendly and welcoming and rearranged three tables so we could all be seated together. I don't know what they thought of our singing though lol. We are definitely going to the next karaoke night so Christine's please get our tables ready on the night because we are coming back 😊🎤🎶🎶🎤🎶🎶🎤

This was a super find. Unexpectedly popped in and enjoyed s glass of wine and shared a bowl loaded chips... absolutely delicious. The barmaid was very friendly, smiley face and a nice manner. I will be visiting again. Thank you

Christie's is a nice place to go . Comfortable and pleasant . However i think the reason that pub numbers are dwindling are more to do with the mood of the public having lost the ability of social niceties in modern times .

Had been told about Christie's but had not tried since moving to the area, well what a great place to dine ,we had the roast dinner with a starter and what a delight, the food was delicious and the staff very attentive, will most certainly go again.

Another lovely lunch shame about the dog kept barking.

Friday nite often a decent band in with usually decent crowd. Saturday night's casino night was amazing. Roulette table black jack and a quick fire poker table, welcome drink and canapés all supplied well done you two and all the staff too.

We recently had a family meal at Christie's for my mum's 85th birthday. We pre- ordered food as there were 11 of us. The food was very good and the portions were enormous. Very reasonably priced. It would have been nice if management had come over to say hello as I had several emails exchanged with them prior to the date but there were a lot of birthdays being celebrated so obviously really busy. They kindly gave my mum a mini bottle of prosecco as she left which was a nice touch. Very friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only criticism is that it was very noisy, but that's to be expected when so busy. Thanks to Christie's for a lovely meal.

I visited recently to try Christie’s fiver fest menu and I can confidently say it was the best hot dog I have ever had. We ordered the wild boar hotdog and fries and the loaded fries drizzled in BBQ sauce. The portions were excellent value...

Sunday lunch with friends. The baked Camembert starter was cold in the middle. The roast dinners. Vulgar. Far too much piled on the plates. I ate a third. The roast potatoes had definitely been sat around. The belly pork not crispy, but chewy. The lamb...
