The best restaurants in South Oxfordshire South East

I love The Black Horse and always take friends there when visiting the Players Theatre. The food is excellent, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable.

I could wax lyrical all day long about our experience this past weekend. What a find! Travelling in for a family wedding, my husband and I were meeting up with his brother and wife. A beautiful day and busy, we were greeted like long standing friends by Alex. We chose to eat ahead of celebrations and so glad we did, the food was beautiful. Cooked to perfection. We're quite a social crew and Alex played to his audience perfectly. What a great start to our Jolly. Our suite (willow) was perfect for our needs and very comfortable. Rising early we initially was met with the most wonderful view of the Thames. Poppy was clearly tasked with opening up an immaculately clean establishment. She was an absolute delight, so much so I fear we slowed her down as we all wanted to chat with this lovely ray of sunshine. I had the full English and it was FAB! Clearly locally sourced bacon, sausage and free range eggs. Worth every penny. Now we just need to find an excuse to return.

Just enjoyed again the tastiest and freshest fish and chips that consistently is served here. The natural care and enthusiasm the owners create with their delicious food is second to none. Highly, highly recommend Amazingly tasty and utterly fulfilling !!!!

Been once before so second time for us, brought daughter this time and she said best Thai ever and she’s well travelled… !! Wonderful food and lady so helpful and friendly. Absolutely perfect. Going to make it a regular trip I think … Amazing 🤩

We had a fabulous Sunday lunch at Oak restaurant, at Crazy Bear - Stadhampton. Fantastic service and food. It was clear that Callum, the chef, took enormous pride in his creations. Highly recommended.

I made a booking in Jan 2025 for a stay in May 2025. I received an e-mail cancelling my booking in late Apr 2025. I have tried to contact the Perch & Pike, but they won't respond. It would appear that you cannot rely on the Perch & Pike honoring their bookings. They seem to be happy cancelling your booking at short notice.

The atmosphere was lovely! Food was fast and tasted great and the staff were very friendly and upbeat! The team also went above and beyond after a drink got spilt at our table. They replaced the drink free of charge and helped us tidy up said spillage. Will defo visit again 🙂

Drove out from Surrey well worth the drive,we both had a Steak which was good value and most enjoyable, the Thatchers Gold was also in great nick we will return .

Great food and friendly staff. The seating and view opposite by the river is relaxing and stunning. I have been here several times and the food and staff are always consistent.

Lovely quality Italian food. Staff are particularly helpful and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent all day breakfast & jacket potatoes for family. Despite being a very busy lunchtime, Excellent and friendly service. Definitely a place to visit time and again.
