From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed, including our dog who was immediately given a cuddle and a bowl of water by the kind bar lady. Our host, Miles, was very attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and drinks. The three of us shared 2 huge starters, and our mains were well presented, tasty and generous. A very pleasant evening was had by all! Definitely on our list for a return visit.

We found this local country pub and decided to try the Sunday roast. What a treat! Loads of vegetables perfectly cooked, crispy Yorkshire pudding, chicken for my mum and the vegetarian option for me, and very reasonably priced. The cauliflower cheese side was delicious. Chef Andrew cares a lot about serving quality food, and the servers were very attentive. Will definitely be back, maybe in the summer to sit in the lovely garden area.

Had lunch for my daughter, Becky's birthday today. New chef. New menu. The food was excellent, I had ribs with fries, huge plateful, 2 others had the Butcher burgers and birthday girl had halumi burger. Everyone was a hit and thoroughly enjoyed. The pub has had a couple of unsettled years, but now I would highly recommend it. Locals, get back and support the local pub. Very friendly, sat outside, very pleasant.

We had a lovely Sunday roast here. The kids loved using the play area while our food was prepared and they also loved their meals (the chips were nice and crispy). The roast was delicious with the chicken being a highlight, as well as the cauliflower cheese. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We strongly recommend a visit.

Had a great lunch here yesterday - 2 lamb Sunday roasts, 1 mushroom and spinach Wellington, all served with roast potatoes, parsnips, veggies and gravy; our 4th family member had fish and chips. Ok, so the service was a little slow due to chef making the batter from scratch. But it was obviously all home -cooked and we were kept up to date by the pleasant and attentive lady behind the bar. So, why wasn’t it busier? Locals - passers by - use it or lose it!

Was once a wonderful dog friendly and customer friendly pub with decent fare at a decent price. So the energy crisis saw the last landlord up sticks to be a handyman in Norfolk and I wondered if any new owners would change much. The answer is no … it looks and feels much the same apart from what I hope was an isolated incident but I fear is the norm. My attendance was mid afternoon and the only other customers in the bar were four or five middle aged locals I guess. Nothing wrong apart from the sailor blushing language that emanated from them in an almost constant stream for the entirety of my stay. F and C and any combination you care to think of at a loud volume without a care that others may find it very rude and quite frankly boorish. I know drinking customers spend money but in fear of having to endure an atmosphere like this again I regret that I will probably not be going any more. It’s a pity because I like the pub and I like the beer and food.

I went here for a meal the other day And was disgusted by the bar staff the language they were using was atrocious. Kids running around, jumping on the tables. The food was actually quite nice. However, you couldn’t enjoy it with the atmosphere. Such a shame as rob the (previous landlord) ran the pub so well. My partner went into the toilets, and was approached by a person taking drugs. Wouldn’t even dream of going here again, unless it is under new management. Such a shame this lovely village has lost a lovely family friendly pub.

A very nice playground for children. But you can come here only to drink, because the food is bad, too bad and not fresh even for people who drink 🤣🤣 The waitress was nice, but did not try to fix the situation with the spoiled food. But if you have a dog and a child, but you don't have a babysitter, then you will feel comfortable having a glass here. But in no case do not order food

The Butcher's Arms is now being run by a different landlord. We had a warm welcome. The pub has been freshened up and is once again serving food. After being shown our table it all went rather down hill, nachos were stale and the dip had a nasty twang to it as well as being super glossy my mate even thought it was blitzed peas, main courses were luke warm and one person did not eat anything as it tasted so bad and overcooked, will return for drinks but not food in the future

Recently been taken over and unfortunately just the two of us there at about 1.20pm. Admittedly there were road works and the warning signs suggested the pub was not accessible !! Drinks quickly brought to the table by pleasant young man. Food followed in the time it took to cook...sausage and mash with onion gravy and peas and scampi and chips, the former not really hot the latter was deep fried, so hot. Reasonably prices and loudish music from Heart fm. Good luck to new owners

Other pubs in the area do decent food, but at much higher prices. On the evidence of this visit, the Butchers Arms is filling a different spot in the market. It's not gastro; it's not foodie: it just does good basic food at good basic prices. It's a brick pub, not very ancient, well up a side road in this large village or complex of villages. Plenty of space inside and out. Veneer floors, good wooden tables, clean. I had the chicken wrap for about £10. Well satisfied. Two big wraps with tasty, breadcrumbed chicken. The wraps were grilled too, with slight Maillard browning on the ends. Came with loads of chips/fries and one of the best and most copious salads I've had in a pub (cucumber, red and green peppers, lots of red onion, red lettuce, green leafy stuff, a touch of (soy?) sauce). Proper filling! So massive kudos to the kitchen. Washed down with two pints of Brakspear's Gravity. While I was there, a woman came up to the bar specifically to praise their lasagne. Find.

Given menus 2 courses for £12 as well as other dishes on a separate menu. Decided on 2 pea soups - excellent, hot and tasty with warm bread and butter followed by 1 scampi and 1 ham egg and chips. Its a shame as we had walked to the pub and previously had excellent food and service there.

The Crazy Bear used to be such a wonderful “Crazy” culinary & visual experience but things have certainly changed. We decided on the 12 course Thai Signature menu which was below food court standard & that’s being kind…in fact, I’m not actually sure there was any Thai apart from the stodgy Pad Thai…& that may have been the best dish. If like us you’ve had many memories of the Crazy Bear, those days have passed I’m afraid

We can not fault the food, the food was delicious. The only thing that let our visit down was the service. We had our starters cleared and wasn’t offered another drink even though we had empty glasses. Mains came (still empty glasses) and even though we addressed that partner didn’t like onions we were assured that we would be fine with the steak only to find out it had onions in the sauce, partner asked if peppercorn sauce was available, chef said it would be 5 which we said no problem, partner waited to eat steak, got to 15 minutes later so we chased up the sauce only to find out the waitress thought we said don’t worry about it. In that time we had to hunt for vinegar as wasn’t asked if we needed any sauces and then went to the bar to get more drinks and ask for ketchup as also wasn’t offered. There was only 3 tables but plenty of staff on floor so no need for poor service. Must point out the manager did come and apologise.
