Booked for the steak night tonight….what a bargain for such quality food. £18.95 for a fillet steak and a drink. Staff were very attentive. We had a fabulous night….thank you

Lovely pub Great atmosphere and excellent food at a reasonable price. The guy at the bar who took our order was friendly and helpful . This is a deservedly popular pub but even when busy the service remains efficient and friendly ,

We were not informed until we tried to place our order ( and had purchased our drinks) that there was a very limited of choice available from the menu. No pizzas, no duck, no steak and no chicken kebabs. We left and went somewhere else to eat so cannot review the quality of food.

Great Food! Especially on Steak night great value and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend. Big garden and great service if visiting henley worth popping in.

The pub had a great selection of beers. The food menu catered for everyone. We went on steak Thursday where we both had fillet steaks with a salad and sauce of your choice tomato,chips, and mushrooms + a drink each. And it was just under 40 notes.

We booked for Sunday lunch at 4pm which they seemed happy to accept. We ordered two roast lamb and a roast beef. It was all very poor. The roast beef was so overcooked it was like leather and they agreed with this and didn’t charge for it. With hind sight we should have also rejected the two lamb which were also very over cooked. The food might have been plated much earlier and then been microwaved to warm it for us, it certainly seemed like that. Have had good meals, and Sunday lunches, here in the past, but this was a disaster. May return to eat again here but certainly not for the Sunday lunch.

A good proper pub with a large outdoors seating area out the back. Inside, I would think the front portion of the pub is for eating and the rest for just enjoying yourself - which I get the feeling is a common occurrence here. They had meal specials on everyday and from what we saw, they looked amazing value for money and very tasty. The staff were wonderful and cheery. The Guinness was excellent as was the Happy daze by Partners Brewery.

We dined on 9th June for Sunday lunch. The good stuff: the pub was busy with a good atmosphere and plenty of staff. We had the chicken and the lamb which was plentiful and hot. The not so good stuff: gravy was in short supply on both plates so I ventured to the bar to request more. “That’s okay sir but you’ll have to pay for it!” £1.95 for not even half a gravy boat. Shocking. There’s no mention of extra gravy cost on the menu and it really took the edge off our meal. Not happy, very mean, we won’t visit again

Ok pub grub. Had a tabled booked, but ended up at the bottom of the garden. No table set when we arrived.

I would highly recommend the Argyll, from the outside it looks a little ordinary but inside a lovely airy layout and welcoming staff, massive menu with something for all tastes . We went back two days running and found the food very well cooked and presented. Sue & Derek. 🙂🙂

My experience at the Argyll Pub was very good. Staff were friendly and were very nice towards our dog. Food was extremely appetising. Came out very quickly and tasted delicious! We had eaten our food by 9.30pm and were ready to order our dessert. We were then told that the kitchen had shut and we had not been notified earlier. This was very annoying. Apart from this food was lovely and served quick. Facilities were clean too!

Probably the worst chicken schnitzel I tried in my life. I didn’t expect a high quality dinner but seriously, needed to force me to eat that. 16.45£ for an extremely tasteless dry chicken fillet, with an overdone dark brown breaded fry. Few chips, and the smallest effortless lettuce salad ever seen. Never again

“Beer battered onion rings” were simply equivalent to a kebab shop, and that is polite. Chunky chips? Not all cooked AND random rosemary herbs on- not advertised - could have been allergic. Tread with caution, or even better…AVOID!

Gone downhill. Always enjoyed Sunday lunch here but food has gone downhill and was very average for £17.95. They also wanted to charge an additional £1 each when we requested a little more gravy, never had that before! Also refused to allow us to buy our 25 year old son a pint as he didn’t have ID on him, but they were more than happy to take his cash when he paid for the drinks! Won’t be returning,

A refreshing change to be served really good food at a reasonable price without the expectation of a service charge. This is a pub that serves really good food without the claim of being a gastro pub. The sunday lunch was large and the roast beef both tender and tasty.Great!

Met a friend and came here for a dink, nice friendly atmosphere, dog friendly aswell which was good..

I came here with friends because one of them lives in Henley, all former colleagues, for food and drink. The place was very busy when we arrived but did thin out a bit later. We had booked a table for 7.30pm for the 7 of us. Understandably it was a little loud with so many people there but it was all good. The staff and beer were excellent as was the food, particularly the pork belly and mash. There is a good range on the main menu. I can only imagine what this place is like on a summer's evening with all the outdoor covered seating so I will return then.

Not often you find a place with so many gluten free beers on tap. Great service, decent atmosphere and great beer garden.

We were looking for a dog friendly pub and stopped at the The Argyll today. Lovely pub with really friendly bar staff. Good selection of food at reasonable prices. Very happy customers. Highly recommend it especially if you are out & about with a dog.

Fancied a burger, fell in on a Mondays-only £14.95 Beer & Burger deal! So ordered the smoky pulled pork-topped Big Argyll burger and a pint of Siren IPA. £14.95 is steal for something so good! Proper Pub is clean with friendly staff and heated rear covered patio. Great find for Mondays off!

Had an Argyle burger here last night. It was dreadful the most unappetising lump of grey meat topped with pulled pork in a wet bun with cold oven chips and all for £16.95 ! Staff were friendly and a good atmosphere but sadly the food let them down

Went with a friend having never heard of this place before. Just a pleasant surprise. The staff were lovely; very inviting and conversational. And they were dog-friendly! As far as pub food goes, it was pretty damn good too 👍 Will definitely visit again!

Situated on the High Street, a cosy pub/restaurant. The welcome was great and we were shown to our table. The usual fair on the menu but as we went on a Sunday a roast was also offered. Two of our party chose a "sharing Roast" which they whole heartedly enjoyed and even took some home in a doggy bag as the portion was very generous. My Sausage and mash was tasty and filling as was my partners pie (a real pie, not just filling with a bit of pastry on the side). would recommend to friends.

Lovely pub with a great selection on tap. The food was okay by pub standards. My chicken burger was both overcooked and not crispy. The Korean wings were cooked well, but not spicy enough to my liking. The people next to us had a roast and that did look great. It's decent, but I'd expect a bit more quality when paying £25 for a meal without drinks.

This came highly recommended by our campsite. We were two couples and placed our orders at the bar. However a large selection we wanted was unavailable. So selected the best if what was. After a while a hooded person approached, I joked with my friend that he either was coming to mug us or service our meal, it was the later. Meal was over cooked and presentation was poor, in my opinion it was as if it was cooked by someone at a home economics lesson. My wife had finished her meal and the hooded man appeared and grunted some understandable language with a pointed finger at her plate, we worked it out they he wanted the empty plate. On another table their meal was being delivered by another waiter(female) wearing a quilted jacket,as she had just came away from a bar stool not very professional. My wife went to the bar and expressed her concerns at the poor meal quality. Also poor service and being served by a hooded man who didn’t really talk. The person apologised and stated she would address this with her manager!! we hope so.

Stopped here for a drink after a long and lovely country walk. Decided to order an impromptu Sunday pork roast and were mind blown. The beer and Pimm’s were refreshing after our walk, but the roast was so flavourful and the meat pulled apart so nicely. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the dish included tasty roast veg and cheesy cauliflower. My brother, who has been in the UK for 5 years, said it was the best roast he’d ever had. There is a large patio/grass area in the back and the staff are really nice. Recommend stopping by here! Especially for a roast

Changed a lot since the original landlord left. Music too noisy today and atmosphere totally different to before. Food wasn't great either. Been going there 30 years at least but sadly not the same now.

Fantastic place! I had the baby back ribs and, oh boy, were they delicious! My partner had the fish and chips and she said they were lovely too! Lovely service and fairly decent price!

We were recommended by a local as we were looking for traditional Sunday lunch. Did not disappoint. Staff made us very welcome and were very helpful. Facilities clean sparkling and welcoming. The food - OMG - sooooo delicious. Extensive menu. We could not eat all our meal due to our age and the quantity. Could not fault the quality - absolutely top dollar. They even offered a take home bag. Thank you all for making our day out so special

What a delightful pub, great tasting beers and ales (large selection) traditional pub menu, the food was excellent, good quality and fairly priced . The service was was really friendly, nice welcoming atmosphere . Definitely recommend.

Decent kitchen Apathetic young waiter

As we'd had a nicely cooked meal here a while back,decided to return. But rather disappointed with the chicken bar snack being over cooked. I accepted a refund. What I would like to say is how polite and friendly the young chap who served us was. Makes such a difference doesn't it!?!

Went in this evening with our 2 dogs, staff very polite and welcoming, great choice for of drinks and the food was amazing 😍 definitely recommend.

This is a great pub in the centre of Henley on Thames. The staff were brilliant. Super helpful. Massive outdoor garden area with lots of tables and booths. Food was really nice too. Totally recommend.

Myself and two friends went for Sunday Lunch. We all had a different roast (pork, lamb and chicken and one side of roast potatoes) and the food was really lovely, hot and very filling. Service was really top dollar. Easy to order at the bar but an option to order from table using a QR code. Worth booking a table in advanced because it was really busy. From order to food on table was about fifteen minutes. Told by a lovely friendly lady behind the bar that they had gone through a few chefs but this one is a definite keeper.

Lovely garden here with some comfy rattan furniture for us older types. Friendly staff and an interesting selection of local cask ales on offer. Lunch time deals also very good value I had Fish pie and loads of green veg for £7.50.

Very disappointed with the service. Had to wait half an hour for a pizza and fries and in the end had to cancel the order. Staff seemed like used to this kind of situation. Absolutely don’t recommend it!

Had a few swift drinks in the beer garden today - very nice sat in wooden booths with individual electric heaters if needed. Food ordered and delivered quickly and good quality and excellent value. Dog friendly too.

Popped in here for a quick bite and a pint... Both were pretty good. Garden area is large,vwith lots of seating, both shaded / undercover and in the sun. Service was quite quick, and food was tasty. Even a couple of TVs outside!

A great venue with a good choice of food. Loved the sea bream fish. Wife had a beef burger, strands of beef so the real thing. Food slightly expensive though in my opinion. Great place for special meal or a drink in the sunshine.

Great spot for a drink right in downtown. Good location, nice selection, and quiet atmosphere. The tables are comfortable and the locals are friendly.

First time here , lovely Friendly staff, food was lovely all though the rib eye steaks are very thin. Outside has a nice chilled atmosphere , Toilets need a clean .
