A great experience from start to finish. We booked an overnight stay before continuing to Folkestone as the first night of our holiday., we were greeted at reception by Sabina who made us feel instantly at home, checking us in and showing us to our beautiful room (Yalumba) complete with a listed toilet! The bed was extremely comfortable and you could get a view of the river. Shower was powerful and spacious (there was a separate bath) Dinner was absolutely delicious, I had the beef cheek bourguignon which was tender and full of flavour with a decent portion of real mash. My partner had seabass again faultless. We were looked after by Robert and Sunni? Who both did an excellent job. We had a great breakfast, scrambled egg, French toast and smoked salmon, again all delicious. All in all a fantastic stay and a great beginning to our holiday. I'd recommend booking the parking as although the spaces a quite small it was very convenient., the exit taking you straight to reception. The hotel is yards from the river and has a really nice enclosed courtyard. We are travelling to France on Le Shuttle next year and will definitely book Here again for the night before.

Having looked at a few hotels in Henley for a 80th birthday celebration, we chose Hotel du Vin. This turned out to be a great experience. Bedrooms were all of a good size and well decorated. I'm a big fan of the HdV format. Never stayed at this one as we live too close, but popped in on a bank holiday for a coffee, as all our usual cycling cafes were closed. The staff were surprised in the post breakfast lull but happy to serve lycra-clad unexpected guests. That's the measure of the place - always good staff. Lovely secluded courtyard to sit and have a chat.

Our son booked my wife and I, a night dinner bed and breakfast for our wedding anniversary. The room was superb with all the right touches, coffee machine, chocolates etc. We had dinner on the night and we were so looking forward to it as the price for a night £312. We expected at least a quality meal. We coulld not be anymore wrong , the food was to put it mildly disgusting, the starters we had was onion soup, I always order onion soup wherever I go if it is available. The offering they served up was the worst i have ever experienced. My wife had the prawns on the shell, when they came out it looked like they had been cremated, the shells were burned as if the had been cooked with a blow torch. The mains were not much better, my wife ordered the moules mariniere, she sent them back , they were tasteless, it looked aif they had been microwaved open and put into a pre made sauce. There was even the label from the packaging of the mussels in with the dish. I had the trout which all I can say was tasteless. As for the breakfast, we had the cooked breakfast, and that was even worse it was all the cheapest nastiest ingedients, that were basically inedible. Even our dog would not eat the sausage. I dont understand why a quality establishment, like the Hotel Du Vin, can let itself down by serving it's guests such fayre. What qwas saupposed to be a lovely experience for our anniversary was ruined by the appalling food.

It’s an attractive venue and the front-of-house staff work hard. On a positive note my wife had the risotto which was perfection. Shame there was little in the way of shellfish left, or that the chef seemed to be having a midlife crisis. Overall it was all a bit weird, and not good value.

I would not recommend this restaurant at all and believe me I am not a complainer in restaurants, but the food was so bad I am leaving a review. The prawns where tasteless, the risotto looked like it was a frozen bag of rice with peas and carrots in. I had the sole fish, which did not taste fresh, it was very salty. The meringue dessert looked like a shop bought meringue with a tin of fruit poured over it. It was such a shame as the building is fabulous and this could really be a great space.

Booked as the last time visited for Sunday lunch very goodWelcomed at reception and shown through to Bistro. Given a choice of any table for 2 and left to find it ourselves. Menus and wine list brought quickly...only 2 other customers at 1.15pm. Offered water but declined..surely there should be better water glasses than 'Duralex' like the ones we use for toothbrushes. Are wooden table tops hygienic as certainly 'food deposits/grime' in the joins. Cutlery had not been polished as covered in finger prints. Limited choice but that may be because of Covid, but no explanation given other than giving us the Room Service menus as well and explaining they did not do lunch during the week. Starters arrived promptly, smoked salmon...tasteless and parfait excellent.2 roast beef to follow....meat excellent, lots of vegetables and roast potatoes all hot. Had to ask for horseradish sauce, then brought (been in fridge so stone cold) without teaspoon to serve it. Why when one orders, not bring steak knives prior to serving main..as then brought after food served? Asked if everything OK during mealDisconcerting that guest going to their bedrooms go through the Bistro ....why not a covered walkway from reception through courtyard to bedroomsWine expensive but after initial pouring of first glass had to act as Wine Waiter.8 out of 10 for food but 2 out of ten for ambience (who chose the music, just a dirge) and service. No one thanked us for coming as we left!!! Very over priced starter(£14 for three scallops that weren’t very well cooked) and a very disappointing main course. Lamb and Marquez sausage on a bed of cous cous. Lamb was tough and tasteless. Sausage were very nice and the cous cous was dull and tasteless. So enjoyed two sausage for £16. Service was ok but generally for £90 dinner for two it was just good value for money.

We waited 10 and then I had to ask to order, and again for the bill, despite at least two waiting staff just serving the outside bar area. I really think you are letting down the HDV brand which is such a shame - lovely location, pretty courtyard, great drinks, but better service in many of the other pubs and bars in the town. We had a spacious room with a very comfortable bed, and a roomy bathroom. The lighting was fine UNLESS one wanted to use the two mirrors in the room or the one in the bathroom, in which case it was so dim as to make shaving, make-up etc extremely difficult. The hot water tap to the basin was delivering no water, and as we were there for Friday and Saturday nights the maintenance man was not available. The shower was fine.It would have helped to be provided with a brochure listing all the services available.A tiny niggle: I was rather surprised on checking in to be given the form to sign, but no biro.Apart from these qualifications we were highly impressed. The bistro is a charming space, very well set out, lit and furnished. The menu offers plenty of choice. There are two wine lists: one limited to wines available only by the bottle, the other containing a good range of wines available by the glass, the 50cl carafe and the bottle. We ate and drank very well at each of two dinners, and the service, apart from one or two slight delays, was very good, which means attentive but not intrusive. We had one good breakfast brought promptly to our room, and another good one in the Bistro. There is no parking available, but shortly before the day of our arrival the hotel sent information as to what is available, including a link by which we booked for three days at Henley Station car park for £13.50. This was fine as we did not need the car during our stay, and a single half mile walk each way was not a problem, though it could be for some. There is no problem stopping outside to unload and load.

We have not visited the Bistro for a number of years. It has since been refurbished with soft lights and leather Sofas. The atmosphere was good we dined early at 6.30pm, and the Quality of the food and portion size excellent in a world class Resteraunt . A four course wine paired meal with limited choices. A large portion of Smoke salmon paired with white wine, Mushrooms on Toast paired with wine, the best Rib eye steak I have ever had with an excellent red wine (the Fish option Sole was on the bone!). A choice of Two cheese from six, paired with 10 year old port. This was an excellent Birthday meal! bought as a Virgin Experience Voucher and good Value as the small 125ml glasses of wine were included. We ate a large meal with no room for Coffee!. The offers to stay at Hotel Du Vin with food are very good at the moment. Spend over £75 in Bistro and stay for £25 on a Sunday night and advanced bookings with Dinner! The other food offers we found were also good. We enjoyed looking around the shops in Henley before the meal.

My partner was given a voucher for afternoon tea, a birthday treat. We arrived to find a small table set in the bar. The bar area was dark and dismal with the constant traffic of cleaners, workmen and other hotel staff. New guests etc, so no privacy for us!The " complete afternoon tea" was dumped on the table. The finger sandwiches would have been nice, if the bread hadnt been so hard. The scones were not scones as anyone would recognise them. Small, unrisen and over cooked. Minimal amount of cream provide. The " other" small cakes were ok. Unfortunately due to the darkness of the bar area, the constant flow of people, some pushing cleaning trollys and clanging buckets. We ate a portion of the tea, as we hadnt had lunch and then asked for the rest.to be boxed to take home.lThe lady took the cakes etc and came back with sandwiches and cakes all squashed into a piece of tin foil.As it was supposed to be a present, we did not complain, but got out as soon as possible. Will never return! If the chef at the Hotel du Vin wants to know how to " make " a proper afternoon tea and the staff how to serve it , you should send them to Pennyhill Park in Bagshot.

Now Sunday lunch is not my favourite meal - I am not into roast something and veg but my wife is. But I did find this a pleasant compromise. We both enjoy a cold buffet and the market table provided a good range. My wife then could indulge herself with roast beef and all the “trimmings” whilst I chose the steak frites (well it is a bistro). In fact the roast something was very much a minority choice on the menu. Both dishes worked well for each of us. Overall a pleasant meal but the service was erratic. So drinks which were the the first thing we ordered arrived part way through our main course and only after chasing and at one point we were sat at an uncleared table for 10 minutes and only the arrival of our coffees led to the removal of our plates.

My wife and I enjoyed a sunday lunch here yesterday, using a Travelzoo deal (about £30 for a 4 course Sunday lunch for two, almost half the usual price). We were very lucky to find a parking spot directly outside the restaurant (it's free parking on a Sunday), but there is plenty of free Sunday parking available a 5 minute walk away in the top of the town. I booked for a 2pm slot and I am glad I did, the restaurant was VERY busy at this time!We took our seats and were quickly brought some iced table water. I ordered a bottle of the house red (a really nice French Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot), and the waitress informed us of the soup, fish and pie dishes which vary daily. We chose to have a bowl of the home-made Tomato Soup, followed by our roast diiner BEFORE the buffet (wise choice, had we eaten from the buffet before our roast dinner, we may not have managed to eat it at all!), followed by our sweet.THe soup arrived after a short wait and it was piping hot. It was quite spicy, being a Tomato soup with plenty of garlic included and a touch of chilli. It was topped by cream and chives, and all in all, it made for a flavoursome starter!Ourmain courses came next, Roast Beef (rare) for me and Roast Chicken for my wife. This was accompanied by a good sized Yorkshire pudding and some gravy (could have done with a little more gravy please!), and then veg and potatoes (roast and chips) on a side dish. The veg was green beans and roasted carrots and parsnips. The parsnips were definitely underdone, but the rest of the veg was fine. The roast potatoes were very pale, though they were fully cooked (par-boiled before roasting) and hot, they just needed another 20 minutes in the oven to brown and crisp. My beef was delicious, a really good flavour (including the fat) and so easy to cut. Very good indeed! My wife struggled to eat all her chicken (so I helped!), she had a leg and a breast of corn-fed chicken which was also very tasty.Having eaten our main courses, we had to wait 10 minutes or so before we could face the buffet table! Here I chose some smoked salmon (two types), some salad, a variety of Italian meats (salami, etc) and pickles, a slice of pork pie and a small slice of scotch egg. Everything was really tasty, and there was a variety of breads to enjoy. I took a smallpot of Mackerel pate to spread on my slice of brown bread.Once we polished that lot off we both ordered a sweet of Glaces et Sorbet, a concoction of raspberry sorbet with vanilla ice cream and some meringue, topped with whipped cream. Light and delicious! We finished our meal after almost 2 hours! I think it was tremendous value and in fact, it would still be good value had we paid the full price of about £27 per person. The wine also was very good, and the service friendly.I think we shall visit again, perhaps in the winter months for a long sunday lunch?

The last time I lunched at Bistro du Vin was in March and at that time my family and I were the only people in the restaurant. This time on a Tuesday in August there were a few more people, five plus us three in fact. Nevertheless the food again was really excellent and this time it was matched by highly professional and knowledgeable service by the French (I think) Maitre D’. My friend and I shared the chateaubriand, perfectly cooked rare, which was superb whilst my wife was very happy with her well-done fillet steak. Between us we tried the Home-cured salmon and beetroot carpaccio as starters which were excellent and a so-called “Peach Melba” for dessert, which was more like that old favourite a Knickerbocker Glory but none-the-less was very enjoyable. A very reasonably priced bottle of Loire red wine was the perfect accompaniment to our meal. It’s a mystery to me why Bistro du Vin is not more popular; they serve superb and reasonably priced food in a very pleasant dining room. I’m a fan!

This was our second visit here, and both times I came away with the same impression: the meat-eaters in the party enjoyed their food more than the others. The meat is, by all accounts, excellent and well-cooked (actually, too well-cooked for both my carnivorous friends: they asked for their beef pink and had to send it back. But when it came the second time it was fine). But the fish was somewhat less good. Not bad, just a bit humdrum. We were there for Sunday lunch, and the buffet of "starters", which includes lots of different veg and fish options (including prawns, smoked salmon, etc.) is excellent. All in all, a good choice – especially for meat lovers, and especially with a Travelzoo deal (£29.95 for two).

Our first experience here was a good one but could have been better across the board although I must commend the chef for providing a pre-ordered menu to our vegan daughter-in-law who does not eat mushrooms or nuts. The highlight of our menu had to be the Farmer's buffet starter which, on another occasion, would be enough for a meal in itself rather than part of a 4-course menu. With a lovely range of fresh salads, smoked salmon, prawns, pork pie, scotch egg, cold meats etc., our meal got off to a good start. However our roast beef was not quite as pink as we would have liked, the roast potatoes barely looked a very pale brown and my wife was suspicious that her chicken leg was not fully cooked. Our tarte tartin took ages to arrive and was overcooked, bordering on burnt on the bottom, when it did arrive. We then discovered we had missed out on a glass of champagne and a gift when we arrived as part of the £35 deal. I want to be fair to this establishment as the waiting staff were very pleasant and it was incredibly busy. I therefore conclude that there was good value it what was being offered but there is considerable room for improvement. I will look forward to seeing this when I return.

Nevertheless the charming if inexperienced waitress did her very best to make us feel welcome whilst the chef excelled himself on our behalf. My sister and I shared a whole roast Guinea Fowl with all the trimmings; our sister-in-law bravely went for the oxtail and my brother chose the traditional cassoulet. All four dishes were really good and up to the high standard I used to associate with the various Bistro du Vins I have frequented over the years (Brighton, Henley, Oxford, Cheltenham) but which more recently have been rather disappointing. But fortunately the “new look” Henley restaurant got it right this time and none of us could find any fault with it at all.

There wasn't a great atmosphere in the bar area and we were in a private room for the meal, which was nice enough but meant it was hard to get hold of staff if you needed anything. Food was okay but nothing super special and probably wasn't quite worth the money. Really didn't like the fact that if you want to bring a cake to celebrate a birthday, they charge you £20 corkage - seems very cheeky and meant they lost out on a pudding order as we were saving ourself for cake on the return home.

Sadly, I would definitely not recommend Hotel du Vin's restaurant,Henley, our pre-booked dinner for 6 on Saturday evening was awful. Lovely setting and surroundings however the level of service and standard was dreadful, slow and poor in an almost empty restaurant and bar and staff were not rushed off their feet. the waiting time between courses were excessive, appalling and took ages,we were not offered any drinks when shown to the table, had to ask for wine menu list, waited ages, my sister ordered sea bass which was bland, so tiny - could have fitted on to a tea plate, with no sides served with it other than fries that arrived long after the fish did. the meal was to celebrate our dear Dad's 80'th birthday and unfortunately it was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

went there last night at 7 pm for a friends birthday the service was bad my husband had soup and had no spoon so had to ask for one i had pate which was supposed to have a warm brioche toast eveyone was eatting theirs and i still had no toast so just about to ask and they brought it the others had finished theirs, my husband and me had steak hache, sauce au poivre with chips and house salad the burger was disgusting and no salad came we waited in the end we had to ask for it and when it did come they had just took it out of a bag and some of it was slimy and rotten and also between each course we where waiting a very very long time for anyone to come and take our orders and then when we did we all thought they had forgot us we could of popped to tescos and made it our selfs the time it took them and they were not busy. so i would not tell anyone to go and eat there of course unless they would want to be disappointed like we where we went there for my friend birthday so i did not complain at the time as it would of ruined her birthday meal but i assure you i will be later

I seldom write reviews but this meal sticks in my memory and I feel I must review it. The staff were clearly overworked with other events in the building but they were pleasant and the standard of the meal was beyond their control. We ordered mushrooms and smoked salmon to start and both were poor and unpleasant (probably tinned mushrooms and grated hardboiled egg round the smoked salmon). I ordered lamb gigot with jersey royals. A plate of brown food arrived. I could not cut through the half inch slice of leg of lamb. It was curled and dry, sitting in dark brown gravy. Half of of the plate was occupied by three enormous, round brown potatoes and that was it. It was the worst meal I have seen in any restaurant. We gave up and went to a supermarket for a pot of icecream and went home.

Decided to go there pre Kenton Theatre. It was 530 and was empty until we left at 7. The service was ok but basics like taking unused wine glasses away? It took nearly 20mins for started which was only pate and asparagas, had we not been gone to theatre might have left. Waitress was pleasant but not assured. We made a comment about a salad, waiter said he was advise the chef but did not come back to us. Room was pleasant but with access to rooms via the bistro quite a bit of traffic. Food was nice.

The waiter service is impeccable and we were made to feel very special while dining. There is a good variety and choice of food and prices for all wallets. I had the moules and frites and they were delicious, my husband had chicken which he said was incredibly tasty. I certainly intend to visit again as it has the air of a place that won't cause disappointment.

Food was excellent (I had French Onion Soup - delicious and a huge pan of Moules Frites!). Great decor and atmosphere and perfect attentive but not overbearing service. Price Fixe and even a la carte menus are not really expensive for a fine dining restaurant like this. Read some poor reviews so was a little nervous but we had a really great experience. Being whisked away for your birthday is always a treat, destination & experience is how memorable it becomes.Having never experienced the "du vin" chain, I was immediately drawn to the outside of the building which is the restoration of a former brewery. We booked in & were lead to our, by now upgraded room.I am unsure of which part of the former brewery this would have been, but our room was spread effectively over four floors if you count the stairways, (5 if you count the two steps to the en-suite) As we entered our "room", the bathroom is immediately to the right, as once again we turn right to a short staircase. in front of us as we ascended was a vastness which I have never experience before or after in a single hotel room.To the left of the living area was the magnificent cast iron stairway leading to the bedroom area some 10-12m above us, behind the sofa a roll top bath, great TV viewing whilst relaxing in ones bath with a glass of wine.To the right, a shower room which any sports club would boast as proud to have. And dividing the two wash basins & mirrors for pruning your team. The extra large bed in the sleeping area, en-suite previously mentioned, & a further ascension to the reading area over looking the rear of the hotel.I am positive there could not be two rooms like this, so ensure you are specific when booking.

Nice venue, interesting artwork and décor, the food is a bit pretentious and pricey, I wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for a Travelzoo voucher. The boeuf bourguignon had run out, there are no chicken dishes on the menu, which is unusual. The deal was for 2 courses (plus a cocktail), which was only valid for starter and main not main and dessert which was a shame and can't understand why as they are the same prices. The menu didn't highlight vegetarian dishes. The mains didn't come with side dishes which had to purchased as extra. For starter I had 'baked beetroot and cream cheese' which was a tiny piece of beetroot that tasted like a vacuum packed one you could buy from a supermarket with some Philadelphia cheese, very disappointing. The French Onion soup was nice with lots of cheese, but with soggy crouton on top.

An Hotel du Vin lunch on the last day of the Henley Literary Festival has been a tradition for our family and a group our friends for several years now. We like to sit outside and feel we are part of the festival so we always ask for a table outside. This year was no different. When we made the booking (several weeks ago) we specifically said we would like a table on the patio. We checked the weather forecast this morning and rain was not on the agenda. Everyone came prepared armed with extra jumpers and shawls. However, on arrival we were told that a table had been set for us inside. The person in charge decreed, in a tone not leaving any room for discussion, it was definitely going to rain and there was no option but to accept the table in the darkest part of the room. Well, it didn’t rain…The meal was also not to the standard we have become used to. As usual we chose the four-course menu. Our broccoli and Stilton soup was nice but the buffet proved a lot less attractive than on previous occasions. Neither it was not swiftly replenished, the way it happened before. Also, the attention to detail has gone. There was not a slice of lemon available with seafood, no mayonnaise or tartar sauce. We had to ask for everything specifically and things took a while to arrive. Lemons cut in half appeared 10 minutes after we had requested them, accompanied by what can only be described as a “dab of mayonnaise”, not enough for 7 people. The main courses were largely OK but average, and accompanied by slightly overcooked vegetables, with the exception of carrots, which were nice. One person ordered Steak Frites and, when asked how she wanted it to be cooked, she said “medium”. That was purely academic – her steak arrived dry as a shoe sole.In the end rain didn’t materialise - God clearly did not comply with the decree. Our party took the executive decision and moved outside for desserts and coffee, which proved the best part of the meal. We had been to the Henley HdV restaurant quite a few times before, including a big 60th birthday party, and had always been happy with the food and service. It’s a pity today was a disappointment. The young staff who served us were mostly polite and attentive but the tone set by the person in charge who refused to accommodate our request, the rather indifferent food and lack of attention to detail spoiled our experience. Has there been a change of management or have the managers become complacent?

Meal we had was OK but what disappointed us most was the fact that there were a good number of dishes that had run out !! and no substitute was offered apart from trying to push the most expensive item on the menu !!!. I really don't get how this happens in any restaurant particularly when they know what is on the menu and general demand in advance. In well run places they would have offered appropriate substitutes. Its a shame really because this lets what is a very well run hotel down. In fact its probably the weakest HDV restaurant we have eaten in. Would not rush back to eat here on this experience

Bought a voucher from Travelzoo for £25 for two. This entitled us to a starter and a main from the a la carte menu. If you wanted scallops to start there was an additional £5 to pay and if you wanted lamb chops or steak an additional £10 to pay per meal. However, that still left plenty of good choices. We had grilled prawns and they were lovely and a generous portion. The bread was delightful. I had a chicken salad with avocados, lardons, gorgonzola, eggs and crutons and it was enormous. I couldn't finish it. My friend had the chicken burger and chips, again she could not finish it. From start to finish from booking to leaving all the staff were so warm, helpful and friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. A lovely setting in a great spot. We would definitely come again.

Ate at the bistro as we were staying at the hotel with our dog and didn't want to go far. Considering its location the bistro was very quiet - we were the only ones who sat inside with a further 10 tables being used outside. The food is average and most certainly overpriced. I don't mind paying a higher price for great food but the bistro seems to price based on location alone. Service , considering the lack of diners was slow. Sides with our mains were served 10 minutes after the main course arrived. The lack of diners delivered a very eerie atmosphere. We didn't bother having dessert after the quality of starters and mains. Wouldn't recommend. The quietness of the bistro says the locals feel the same. Such a shame as the hotel itself is fantastic.

The (effectively) 3 quid cheese board was excellent value for money and all the rest of the food was interesting. Portions are the correct size, so for those of us who are greedy they might feel small but they are spot on. A lovely venue on a hot evening.

Visited for a disappointing afternoon tea today. Sandwiches ok but the chef clearly struggled to think much beyond the standard offerings to cater for a vegetarian, just double up on the existing vegetarian options and take out the bacon from the bacon and Gruyere croissants. This left us assuming that the offerings were mainly of an off the shelf frozen variety?Things went downhill from there. We seemed to have entered into an alternate reality where cream teas are just a plain warmed up in the oven from frozen scone. When we asked about butter, jam, etc. we got a slightly odd look from the waitress, but she did oblige with 3 pots of butter, two small jars of raspberry jam and 2 small jars of BREAKFAST MARMALADE!!! But still no clotted cream. I did at this point check the afternoon tea/cream tea menu that it did come with clotted cream as I was starting to think that perhaps I had got thinks wrong all my life to this point that cream tea should come with clotted cream. Anyway the menu confirmed that I dreamt up that cream tea does come with clotted cream, so I availed myself once more of the waitress to ask for some clotted cream. Which we got, but didn't use much of as the scones weren't particularly edible. As for the other cakes and treats the candy floss melted within seconds into something that looked like hazardous waste on the table within moments of it arriving. The chef had obviously run out of chocolate tea cakes only putting one on the plate replacing the second with an extra what is described in the menu as 'deliciously soft and sugary doughnut filled with rhubarb and custard' but turned out to be a leaden greasy lump so distasteful that I didn't get as far as tasting the rhubarb and custard in the centre. The gin and tonic sundae was a frozen lump of cream that looked as if someone had snotted on it.One waiter acknowledged that things were not perhaps up to standard and did offer us a drink on the house, unfortunately this didn't help us to forget the experience. There are lots of other nice places to go for afternoon tea in the area I wouldn't suggest going here if you have a choice or really like marmalade with your scones!

Regarding an experience on the 25th of June. Below is an email sent to the person I communicated with in organising our time. She said it would be forwarded to a manager, and we've heard nothing since. Hello, I am emailing regarding our meal with you on Sunday 25th of June. We had booked the Canata room for a family gathering as the day following our wedding. We hoped to have a special day and continue our wedding celebrations but we were sadly very disappointed with our experience.. It all started off well drinks outside, with one of the main staff members introducing our server for the day, we had high hopes. Having our own room and knowing we were there to celebrate we expected to be treated accordingly. But instead we felt like we were tucked in the back and forgotten. The staff members serving us were slow and seemed pretty miserable, inattentive and non-communicative. Didn’t really seem like they wanted to be there at all. The service was incredibly slow, working out to having 1 course per hour, which was just mad.Particularly as we had preordered all of our food and prepaid! This should have meant everything was served quickly and we shouldn't have been left waiting up to an hour between courses. What should have been a fun celebratory lunch ended up being a dragged out event. I even checked outside and in the rest of the restaurant thinking that perhaps it was incredibly busy and that was the cause of the delay, but it was very quiet with at one point only 4 tables of people outside. When we commented on the poor and slow service we were given very little reasoning as to why or any form of apology. It was a very disappointing experience for us all when it should have been a highlight of our wedding weekend. I and our other guests, all Henley residents would be reluctant to return or recommend to others given this experience. We would appreciate some feedback on this please.
