What's the point having a ordering App and not having the staff to sort out the orders. Excuss given. "We are busy serving customers at the bar". 30 minutes for two drinks is just a poor service. Tip. Don't use the Green King App in this pub. Table 117. ps. These glasses have been on this table when we arrived. Still here after a hour.
Just enjoyed the most wonderful Sunday lunch with Leonie, my brother Rob and his wife Karen. The rare beef roast, veggie Wellington and Eve's freshly prepared apple crumble were awesome. Thank you so much Henry and Eve.
The pub ( the Nelson now) is fabulous!
We went with friends for Saturday brunch it was excellent.
A great welcome, staff were excellent very organised and friendly.
The food was plentiful, well served and washed down with endless process I, coffee and tea.
Muesli, berries, yoghurt and honey. Pastries with four choices, a menu to choose from a full English, breakfast baps, avocado on toast and much more, Toast. Delicious.
There is a stunning garden, lovely seating perfect for the summer. They also run events from wine tasting, Christmas events etc.
I so recommend this pub it’s a perfect English pub in a lovely village. We will be back.
Nous avions réservé et nous nous sommes retrouvé dans un salle très petite et sans fenêtre. Tout est dit!
Plats corrects sans plus.
Service moyen.
Globalement decu
Lovely village! Great little cottages spread out. Interesting looking chuch. Large tower at the top. Tiny coffins in the couryard. Not too busy friendly people Loved seeing Pishill village in all its glory! 10/10

One of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time! The fish was fresh, the batter perfectly crispy, and the flavors were amazing. The chili sauce is a must-try—absolutely delicious! On top of that, the customer service was excellent. Highly recommend this place!
Tried the buffet all you can eat Sunday lunch. Onion Bagi very average as was the rest of the food. Not very many in the restaurant and why do you have to book? Stoken church Mowchat no booking and better food
Just about the worst takeaway I've ever had, cold, bland, inedible. Missing drinks and chicken in the burger was basically non existent. £25 for cardboard chips, no chicken chicken burger, I think we got the end of food that had been sitting there for the day. Really really disappointed. Shocking.
Very disappointing. No food available. Surly barman was " too busy" , despite pub being almost empty, even to heat up a pie on Saturday lunchtime. Nice fire only redeeming feature. Website needs updating.
We were in Newbury for the bank holiday weekend visiting Highclere Castle, and after checking out from our house, we needed somewhere to eat for breakfast on the way back to Birmingham airport. We stopped in Didcot and found Boswells cafe. We had the most delicious sausages in a baguette. They even asked if we wanted butter (which we did) and red or brown sauce... we went for red sauce. We also ordered a mug of coffee each. When I tell you the coffee was perfection.. steaming hot and in a huge mug. We found a lovely corner table. The staff were so friendly and efficient. There was a lovely family atmosphere in the cafe and plenty of tables, so space for everyone. Highly recommend for a breakfast. Didcot is also a lovely little town.
