We have eaten here a number of times over the years as we have friends living in Chinnor. The ambiance is very nice and we had a warm welcome. However popadoms and samosa starters were poor, both seemed preheated & oily. Mains were ok but nothing speacial. Not bad but pretty average. Service through the meal was quite rushed.

Old man with grey hair, very RUDE and patronising. I asked for a receipt and he shrugged his shoulders and raised his arms saying ‘Why’. I will never give them my money ever again!! Food was a shambles. Everything tasted the same. Stale popodum’s, cold saag aloo and the korma had huge green lumps of something in it. Wouldn’t even give to my dog. WILL NEVER RETURN. **If you want a good curry, with amazing customer service I highly recommend Coco Tamarind in Princes Risborough ... at least they appreciate your money and service!**

We live in Chinnor and have always found the service here to be excellent. Throughout the Covid 19 crisis they offered NHS workers 50% off takeout and took meals to local hospitals, which no other local restaurant did. We ate here last week and the service and food was brilliant. They were so friendly and helpful, we will always use this as our regular curry house!

Although the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday, the members of the staff were very helpful- the cuisine is excellent- we noticed that on the menu, the ingredients and possible allergies are clearly marked for each dish. The food was really good and quick to arrive so it started well. Initially we were seated by a young polite guy and all seemed well until we had finished our mains when an older guy (maybe manager or owner? Surely anyone else would have been sacked for this attitude) whipped away our tablecloth and did not return to offer us desert or drinks (we had been wanting liqueur coffees) or even a bill! We felt invisible and after about 20 minutes we asked for the bill and left! There were only two other occupied tables when we left at about 9:30 on a Saturday night - guess he just wanted to close up!??? Absolutely spoilt our evening and will not be returning which is a shame as the food was tasty!

I ordered the chicken Rezella, onion bhaji, peshwari naan and pilau rice to take away. The rezella was described as 'highly spiced'. Well, the chef misunderstood that to mean 'no spice' and the sauce was just the typical indian gravy they use before they add the spices. The bhaji was so rubbery I wondered if it had been made from deep fried elastic bands. The naan tasted like it had been stuffed with marzipan and the pilau rice lost its colour and arrived white. All in all I wasted £14 on a meal for one and wished I'd gone to M&S; and got two meals for a tenner. The restaurant itself was very nice, though, and so were the staff.

My wife and I were enjoying a short break in nearby Thame and were looking for an Indian Restaurant with good reviews. None in Thame seemed particularly great so we came across this one when searching on TripAdvisor. The restaurant was quite quiet but we were welcomed by a most pleasant waiter and taken to comfortable table in this modern bright and well decorated establishment. We found the menu to be quite different to that found in many everyday Indian or Bangladeshi restaurants. We enjoyed the customary poppadum and chutney as an appetiser and then experienced some spicy and unusual main courses which were well prepared and of excellent value and seemed to comprise very fresh vegetables and good quality meat. The meals were delivered to our table in good time and were piping hot. Overall a very good restaurant made even more pleasant for us as by co-incidence our waiter was known to us as a former employee from a restaurant we visit regularly in our home town.

When there is such an amazing Indian restaurant at the top of the village Duo you would think they would try and be competitive but no. The owner or manager is damn right rude. The service was slow and each dish tasted the same I've never had such a bland Indian so much so we had to say I'm sorry we just aren't enjoying this. The managers answer was to get the hump and clear the table and just say ok fine but your paying for the wine. I was shocked how rude he was. He didn't ask us if he could offer anything else no courtesy at all. To be honest the money wasn't the issue at all we then jumped in my porsche and went to duo at the top of the village where we have been many times before and had a great meal. Just had a meal with friends to celebrate one of their birthdays at the Chinnor Indian Cuisine. The food was great but they messed up our drinks (twice). We asked for two glasses of wine and they brought over two opened bottles, then 4 glasses of wine!! We politely told them but they became impatient with us because of their mistake???? From that point on I must say that the service wasn't brilliant. The older waiter made us pass all of our finished plates rather than walk around the table to collect them - without a please or a thank you!!! We had brought a couple of fun decorations for the table and a tiny cake for after which I think annoyed them slightly as we were told that they could have provided all that had we told them (fair enough). But then he, very kindly, offered us all a complementary drink for my friends birthday which was a very nice gesture. We all felt the service was a bit mixed??? There was hardly anybody in the restaurant (Friday night) so it lacked atmosphere. We were given our bill without asking for it so I guess they wanted rid of us!!!! I don't think i'll be going back!!

Sonny is rightly proud of his newly refurbished restaurant and will always take the time to come to the table for a chat. The menu hasn't changed much over the years but the food is always really tasty and prepared with fresh, good quality ingredients. Also the chef is more than happy to adapt a dish if asked, so you can pep up the chillies if you prefer your curry a bit hotter. The food is good, the service is good, the only criticism is that it's a bit like a works canteen in terms of layout and decor. You are just sat in a big boxy room alongside everyone else. We had been to this restaurant about three years ago, and we hoping it had improved since then. Judging by the reviews here, it had, so we thought we'd give it another try. The restaurant wasn't busy with only one other table occupied, but it took quite a while for the menus to arrive and even longer for them to take a drinks order and ask us if we wanted side dishes. We eventually ordered our meals. Our poppadoms were stale and the mint sauce was watery. The food was mediocre to say the least and was best be described as tepid. Although tasty, it was nothing out of the ordinary. No dessert or coffee was available. Sorry, but having tried this restaurant on two occasions and not been impressed, it's off the list from now on.

...not local to me, but local to my dad, who took us for a meal here when visiting. The Indian restaurants in my local town (which shall remain nameless) have gone downhill over the past year or two - along with the prices. They're competing on price, but by doing so they've cut back on the meat included, and the sauces are runny and tasteless. Not the case at the Chinnor Indian restaurant! Pricing is fair, and the portion sizes are good. We didn't have starters, but between us had chicken korma, madras and korai, and a lamb madras. All very tasty. The aloo gobi tasted freshly cooked (you can always tell with cauliflower...) and the naan breads were beautiful and fluffy.Service was efficient and friendly. When my (teenage) kids playfully kicked up a fuss over the chocolates provided at the end of the meal, some extras magically appeared. It's a tiny gesture, but we came away very happy indeed...Recommended.

Look at the food standards agency website it's rare for an Indian to get a 5 (top) rating, so not only tasty but safe. Food is exellent, service great and we always get a friendly welcome. We took relatives for a new year here and it was one of the best. I occasionally bump into staff around the village and they always smile and speak, although maybe it's just my happy personality rubbing off. This restaurant seems to have raised its game again. We were met by the owner and showed to our seat. He was polite and friendly and we were soon sitting with drinks. Our food was tasty, plentiful and flavoursome.I would strongly recommend and will return very soon.

Visited on a lads night out, mixed ages from 20s to 60s there were five of us all had something different and everyone of us enjoyed each dish. With six trips to India under my belt I can be picky with high expectations, however I remain mindfull of the different regions, good chefs and not such good chefs.Chinnor Indian Cuisine is favourable and worth a visit, we will return.

This was the first time in many years that I have eaten here and I was a little disappointed. The food choice on the menu was interesting and the place was clean. The staff were reasonably attentive and the service was fairly efficient. But the whole experience was a little dampened by the poor personal hygiene of our waiter. When the food came it was a little bland and I won't be hurrying back again.

Slow service, watery food.... Lost interest after that and wanted to leave. Needs improvement.Quicker service and more attention would be great.

I often visit Chinnor and I pass through everyday to go to work in the mornings, when ever my girlfriend and i want to treat ourselves or my family to a meal out our first choice will always be Chinnor Indian. My parents love going there and they thoroughly enjoy the food and talk very highly about the staff and service, my father especially is always more than happy to go to the Chinnor Indian whether it be for a meal or to pick up a take away.It has a lovely setting, excellent service and a great atmosphere with a very smart decor. The food is always spectacular my favourite dish by far is the chicken Korma, its fantastic and the chef knows how i like it. My review on this restaurant however is not biased because i have been to the other restaurants locally and non can match the standards of Chinnor Indian, especially in this recession when you want to go out and have a nice meal with great food for a reasonable price! In conclusion I highly recommend you consider Chinnor Indian cuisine when going out for a meal because it offers fantastic food to the highest standard and you get your moneys worth, the staff are always kind and generous and the service is impeccable. If you choose Chinnor Indian you have made the right choice, it never disappoints.

I visit Oxford every 6 months or so, and sometimes I just use it as an excuse to come to Chinnor! I have been coming here for the couple of years & not a single time have I been disappointed. The food is always spot on, I have pretty much had every item on the menu (with exception to seafood dishes as I am allergic). I also suffer from a nut allergy, and staff have always ensured all precautions are taken to prevent any allergic reaction. The front-of-house team are very courteous without being too intruding. They have a very wide selection of drinks that accompany their Indian & Bangladeshi cuisine.Suprised to not to see many reviews on this site, truly is a hidden gem. Keep the good work up Chinnor Indian Cuisine, see you soon!

This was my regular for nearly 8 years, but In the last 5 years, thee restaurant has gone very downhill, maybe the management has changed, I went in recently only to acknowledge horrid service and tasteless food, the staff were quite rude although most of them understood English! I have now switched to 2 Indians, The coriander leaf, which is down the road, which has a much more exciting menu and friendly staff, if I don't go there I go to my wife's preference which is the radhuni which is located in Risborough so a little far. But I thoroughly DO NOT recommend this place after receiving the terrible service there.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. Service was efficient, lamb in both dishes we had was tender and generous. A tiny grumble from my husband that the Popadoms were a bit stale tasting, but I didn't notice this. Take away side of the restaurant was very busy, so locals presumably rate the food.

Going downhill fast - this place used to be my favourite. I understand mistakes happen, but... 1) The bottle of Kobra beer served had gone flat. We asked for a replacement and the waiter came over and poured the fresh beer into the same glass the flat beer was in! Finally we got a fresh beer and a fresh glass. 2) Poppadum dips were below par and below temperature. The condensation all over the metal serving dish shows that they serve them straight from the fridge. 3) Served a cheese nan, instead of a chilli nan. Waited for replacement. 4) We were told the chef 'forgot to put egg' in the dish we ordered, and were offered a replacement, but we were already waiting for a replacement nan, so that would have left one of us with a plate of rice to go cold while waiting. 5) Weekday special is £20 per head. Bill comes out at £99 for 3 people. Drinks were listed as £20.45 on the bill, so that's £18.50 tip included in the bill. I'll give you another tip: sort it out guys.

Just had a takeaway from here tonight and it was absolutely fantastic, I even had to phone them to tell them how delicious the food was. Well done Broadway Spice, we'll definitely be back 👍
