Excellent breakfast! Best in Henley so far. Good bacon, delicious sausage, nice toast and plenty of mushrooms. Popular place.

What a find!! Spoon is now our favourite place for a quick lunch. They’re all so friendly and it’s very clean inside. I have to scream about the jacket potatoes as they’re the best I’ve ever had and fully loaded!! Everything is so fresh. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried so far!

Delicious breakfast at a decent price in the Centre of Henley. We brushed with family, friends and dog. Most people seemed to be doing the same. Seating outside and inside to suit your preference.

Absolutely fabulous well cooked breakfast. Very nice choices using very good ingredients. Spoon is consistently very good. We have had breakfast here on several occasions over the past year. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. One of the best places for breakfast or lunch in Henley.

My wife and I have been visiting here since 2012 and have always enjoyed the food and coffee. We heard Spoon was under new ownership and were curious to know if it would still be as good. We were not disappointed. The mocha latte is still the best and the sandwiches are delicious. A must for anyone visiting Henley on Thames! We hope to return in the future.

First time I went there the eggs were cooked to perfection, asked for medium to well and the server, older lady was very accommodating. Delicious breakfast with avacado. The next 2 times were disappointing. Eggs are either runny or very well done to the point of being dried up. Quality of food overall is good though. Maybe get scrambled rather than poached. Nice location if you like dogs. Staff rubbing customers dogs, one did wash his hands before serving food.

Excellent little brunch spot in Henley-On-Thames, very speedy service! Outside area needs some work, but otherwise a good menu and service.

We often use this cafe when we walk from Hambleden to Henley and then back again. It is a great half way stop. We were quite surprised on our last visit to find new owners. I have to say that they were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and there was a very good atmosphere.

Went to this place for a juice. They filled the cup with ice (wasn't aware this was to be added). Asked to remove the ice, they did. This left the cup half full, they refused. The rude person on the till said we don't fill up more if I decide to remove the ice. I wasn't expecting yo pay £5.50 for half a cup of juice, absolutely disgusting. The serving female need a manners implant and should never be arrogant towards a paying customers. I would 100% not recommend a visit to this place. Very, very dissatisfied and terrible service I received

Came here for a brunch. Lovely busy cafe in the heart of Henley with fantastic quality food and great coffee. Portions were good sized and the food was delicious. Will definitely return!

Great service! Very friendly, helpful (in options for a non red meat eater) and polite staff. The food, we both had the hash (one with bacon and one with acacado), was so tasty and served hot!

Lovely lunch here today, friendly atmosphere with quick service and incredible food. Sweet corn fritter with smoked salmon and poached egg was amazing!

Service was fast and friendly, coffee was very nice. We opted for one of the Specials which was Brisket but this was very tough.

Wow, just had the sweet potato and feta smash with smoky chorizo and crispy onion bits....the best brunch I have ever had. Super happy to have stumbled upon the Spoon!

We visit Henley every year as a a couple and Spoon has become our favourite go to coffee shop. During our 4 day stay we visited 5 times due to such a great selection of snacks and drinks. Particular favourites were the smoothies, olive flatbread, sweet potato salad and sausage roll. Staff were all happy and helpful. My only disappointment was when I went back to grab some flatbreads to take home there were none. Oh well, there’s always next year.

Best mocha and avocado toast breakfast in Henley on Thames!!! We've been visiting Henley on Thames for the last 10 years and have been coming to Spoon since they opened in 2016. The mocha and avocado toast is so good for breakfast and the lunch sandwiches are great too. We often find ourselves looking at their Instagram posts when we're back in South Carolina and long to return for some food and coffee. It is well worth the overnight flight every few years. For those of you who are closer and can visit more regularly we're jealous.

Such a lovely place and even nicer team! Popped in for a take away tea this afternoon whilst enjoying the sunshine. Unbeknown to the team I was feeling a little sad today , whilst admiring and discussing the lovely donuts on display … the lovely lady behind the counter insisted I had one ‘on them’ as it was drawing closer to the end of the day and they may go to waste. You absolutely made my day, kindness costs nothing and I’ll make sure I return the act of kindness. Lovely food, amazing cakes, and a lovely team… highly recommend!!! My Henley go to spot! Visited spoons yesterday with my elderly mother, the place was buzzing, well organised and friendly and the food fantastic, we had the mushrooms on sourdough toast, amazing, so lovely to find good service and food, well done spoons

Used to love coming here but today was terribly disappointing..ordered coffee and bacon bap… coffee arrived promptly but bacon bap took forever!!! No apologies..coffee had been finished 20 minutes previously.. had I not been with a friend I would have left.. lots of other people...

I went in with my partner and baby. We took a seat and chose from the menu as we started to feed our baby. No staff approached us at that point. The menu is pricey and poncy, not much choice if you don’t want avocado...

The staff were very lovely and welcoming. Coffee was of a high standard and the brownie was great. Would recommend.

Went to cafe specially after reading their advertising blurb but was very disappointed to find that despite their advertising there was not one vegan item they could offer me. Coffee good but came away hungry.

I visited Spoon for the first time the other day, I was instantly greeted by the attentive friendly staff who showed me to a table in which I could sit. I ordered a latte which had an incredible pattern on it! I was rather hungry...

Friendly and quick service. Dog friendly. Coffee and food choices were good and everything was tasty and fresh. I would recommend stopping here even if it’s just for a cup of coffee.

Saw Spoon was open again yesterday and grabbed amazing sausage roll, peanut butter brownie and a coffee, so glad they are open again so I can get proper home made food in Henley again. New refurb inside looks great too!

We had lunch in Spoon yesterday, and it was, as always, scrumptious !!! The best cafe in town, and considering the pressures put upon the staff to work within the Covid restrictions, you would never know, they just keep smiling, well done Spoon!

Visited again after an awful visit post-lockdown. Decided to try again, as this was a favourite a few years ago. However, nobody really seems to know what is going on in this cafe. Coffee art is lovely, but is the only redeeming factor in the...

went into Spoon today with a friend who's vegan and was massively impressed with the care and attention they've given to the vegan options on offer - rye bread open sandwich with fresh smashed advacado, carrot pickled in coriander, garlick and chilli - almost good enough to tempt me away from my spicy beans and chorizo on toast (almost!)

Excellent cafe for brunch - their mushrooms on toast are fantastic and my husband loves their homemade beans on toast.

Absolutely loved our first visit this morning. 10/10!! The coffee was hot, rich without being too strong - perfect actually. We ordered a generous plate of very tasty, free range scrambled eggs on toast, freshly sliced avocado with a topping of smoked salmon/prosciutto on toast/gluten free toast. De-li-cious!!! Buzzing & friendly ambience for all and the staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. What's not to like?

Still fairly shiny and new decor, nice atmosphere, dogs allowed. Cakes and pastries are nicely done, coffee's good but not exceptional. Friendly service.

Arrived shortly after 15:30. The kitchen had already closed and so all that was available to eat were a few unattractive bits of food standing on the counter, with what might have been a fruit-fly circling the avocado cake. Decided to have two coffees. My black americano was great if you love bitter and burnt coffee that leaves a scum around the cup, but not to my taste. Then the staff started to stack the stools on the counter as apparently it takes a a long time to shut up shop. Finally, when they started to stack the stools in the window as well we asked to speak to the manager, who sadly was not available. Our comments were gratefully accepted by a member of staff, but no discount or refund offered. A brief and thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Just had lunch here and it was really lovely. I was a right pain with my allergies, but they kept smiling and were really wonderful. The food is exceptional with plenty of variety. Has an artisan feel to the place and well worth a visit.

Popped in for a quick bite for breakfast and had the Build Your Own Avocado for breakfast, it was just divine (in fact it always is) the staff are so friendly, the food is incredible and the atmosphere cosy and chilled. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Coffee nothing special, no different than Nero , a slice of sponge cake charge 4.50 !! So Overcharged even as a artisan place isn’t it ?and again nothing special. I think it’s shame a artisan place try to make crazy money from it . They opened the back door and turned a fan on makes the place super cold , I know they are closing soon and try to ventilate , but you got customers sitting right next to it and at least you should ask if we are ok with it ! Anyway Won’t go again .

Scruffy unclean tables with food debris on the floor. Certainly NOT the best coffee in Henley by a long shot. Both food and drinks way way too expensive for the quality. Staff and service slow and ponderous with our food left waiting to be bought to our table way too long which seems a common theme here. We won’t be giving them anymore of our business that’s for sure.

We loved this place so much we went three times in a week! Lovely atmosphere great cup of tea and magnificent cake, I can highly recommend the Hummingbird cake but all the cake was lovely. There are sandwiches and salad available which also looked tempting. All the staff are lovely and there are candles and gorgeous hand cream for sale as well

I popped in for a quick lunch with my daughter and ordered two ready made sandwiches, which were sat staring at us on the counter. We were informed they would be delivered to the table. 15 minutes later after asking if they could indeed be delivered, they were hastily moved on to the table! Delicious food, friendly people, but this cafe is organisationally challenged!

Stopped by for a light lunch while wandering round Henley on Thames. Absolutely delicious salads, varied and inventive, very fresh and tasty. Various toppings available, eg chicken, smoked salmon, avocado. Highly recommended

Came in on a busy Friday afternoon, and was greeted by a young but smiley waitress. She was very knowledgable about the food, and even managed to get the chef to wizz up a cheese sandwich for my daughter who has special dirty requirements. Food and drink was delicious, will definitely be coming back again!

Attended here for a light lunch. I went for the cheese and ham toasty which was very nice. All food was fresh, wife had a salad we she enjoyed and the cake was excellent. A little cramped inside but worth a visit.

My boyfriend and I popped in for an afternoon coffee, and just as we ordered, the lovely waitress gave us her ‘coffee of the day!’ We were so surprised and delighted! We both enjoyed our delicious Mocha and Cappuccino on the outside tables in the sun! Would definitely return to such a friendly coffee shop!

I have eaten at spoon for over a year now, normally get a takeaway salad box which has literally halved in size but they still charge the same price- really disappointed

I came here for the first time with my wife, daughter and dog. What a great place for a coffee and light lunch. We ordered two coffees, mushrooms on toast and a sausage sandwich. All of which were amazing, especially the mushrooms, absolutely delicious. The staff were polite and efficient and the atmosphere was nice and chilled. Overall great experience, we will be back!

Music was too loud so staff couldn’t hear customers. Salads not as good as similar locally. I was over charged by approx 30% which must happen frequently as staff didn’t seem bothered. Staff sniped about how they were have a great day during the refund process.

nice cafe with nice staff. Had a sandwich and coffee. Sandwich had lots of filling and was filling! The only thing I would criticise was the fact that the food was out on the counter uncovered and people who were ordering were speaking over it, yuk.

We always look forward to popping in at the weekend for a coffee and cake, and they always are so welcoming to our Labrador. They always may a fuss of him, such lovely people. It's a great atmosphere and our favourite place to go after our dog walk.

I was visiting friends when they suggested that we go to Spoon. When we arrived, the cafe was bustling, but our food and coffee arrived quickly.

I went to Spoon today with my family and a dog. Staff were really helpful and we had lots of cake which was delicious and the quiche which was really tasty. There were lots of vegan cakes and non-dairy milks to choose from. The atmosphere very good and we sat outside. I hope to visit again soon!

It's a busy place and finding a space can be tricky but it's worth any wait. We had fresh bagels and then a large mixed salad to share and were unusually quiet in each other's company. The staff are friendly and naturally warm, the place has people chatting and laughing, very few self absorbed on their laptops etc. The outside seating area could be bigger and the only improvement would be a river view. A gem.

A dry piece of bread, tasteless avocado, some sort of homemade ketchup pure imitation and ordinary salmon Expensive, tasteless but very pricey Not worth the trip....

I visited coffee shop for a cup of coffee with and had a snack too. Generally place is nice decorated and taste of coffee was basic. I would say taste of snack was better, had a soft bun with ham and mustard. It’s a good place have a stop from your visit and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Nice atmosphere where to grab a coffee, have breakfast or a quick lunch. Good food: salads, panini, soup etc. A bit small.

A bit too small but the flatbread Reuben was fine as was the ciabatta sausage rolls. Coffee average. Staff pleasant enough. there seems to be plenty of cafes in Henley as we were simply early for the cinema this was good enough.

Always an interesting and tasty array of sandwiches & salads to choose from, the coffee is great and best of all the service from the girls there is always impeccable. Glad I live so close by! 😆

I find it hard to believe anyone could write anything other than wonderful things about this place. It is such a lovely cafe with the most delicious food ever. I can’t fault it other than it’s a bit chilly by the door - but can’t be helped and it wouldn’t put me off. Menu is so varied and food is so good. You must have a rocky road when you go!!! Would go to Henley again just to eat the spicy scrambled eggs again!!

Better than ‘OK’ cafe-style food, but how long does it take to grill and deliver a ciabatta sandwich, which is already sitting on the counter of a restaurant, which at that particular point has more staff than customers on a quiet Sunday lunchtime?

We have had lunch at this cafe twice in the last three days due to doing walks in the area. It was very busy on both occasions and quite difficult to find a seat.

Popped in here again today and bought a ciabatta and salad. The originality, the flavours, the quality of ingredients, the fresh herbs - I know of no other café/takeaway that comes near this place. Worth every penny.

Coffee was lovely and staff were nice, I think the portions could be a little bit bigger and I really wish the avo on toast was smashed not just sliced on top. I asked for it really toasted and they didn’t deliver which was annoying as I asked several times so they got it. ( which clearly they didn’t ) On the whole it was a cute place and I would go back. As we are from london I thinks it’s actually good in comparison to other places. :)

YES! Finally an independent good quality family run coffee shop in henley! There are so many chains that serve mass produced food with no flavour. Spoon have amazing home baked cakes even a delicious vegan cake, interesting salads, soups and the best quiche around, plenty of alternative milks too for dairy free coffee! I’ve been back a couple of times and although it’s only small this is part of the charm, the staff are very friendly and make you feel so welcome. The layout is clever you can sit at the bar stools if there are no tables. I’m thrilled to have discovered this place and I hope the locals give it the support it deserves. Highly recommend a visit.

Spoon is a rare gem in the heart of Henley. I absolutely love this cafe, and since my first visit in the Summer.. have been known to detour for miles to stop for their amazing coffee and irresistible food. I now follow Spoon on Instagram to feel inspired and energised each morning with what the chefs have been working at- as well as their life affirming ethos and humour!

Popped back to Spoon today after months away to find even more great cake choices, my girlfriend loved the vegan banana loaf and tumaric latte and I thought the spiced pumpkin cake was awesome. Coffee still fab and the staff couldn't have been better! would definitely recommend revisiting this happy little place.

I came here early on Tuesday morning, and have never been served by anyone as rude and obnoxious as the server who had more interest in what was on her mobile phone than serving me. It’s a shame, because the place looks great. I shall be getting my coffee elsewhere from now on

This place either has the most expensive salads or the mathematically least able staff. I ordered a lunch consisting of two kinds of salads, some chicken and a slice of bread and was charged nearly £15. Seriously? If the taste had been utterly overwhelmingly excellent, ok, but even that wasn’t the case. I did not question it as I was in a rush but shan’t return.

Went here for lunch with my sister yesterday. Really great food and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

The staff were very approachable. The menu clear. The cakes looked very inviting. We were a party of three, our different tastes were well catered for; cake, eggs and toast with marmalade. The toast was just perfect. The fried eggs were correctly cooked and well presented. The cake was delicious.

A little pricey but most pleasant, definitely worth it although when paying £6 for a sandwich surely you can stretch to a garnish rather than just a roll on a plate ?!

THE most amazing cakes and delicious coffee! Cake wise, we had Earl Grey Tea and Sicilian Lemon and Honey, Parnsip and Blood Orange - both utterly yummy. The flat whites were just gorgeous. A lovely find. Definitely will be going back here.

Managed to get some seating as this is a very popular place for breakfast. There are some tables outside which helps. Very clean and looked after business. Staff friendly & helpful.

Loved my coffee, delivered by a happy waitress. However the waitress that stormed through the door, making as much noise as she could, straightening chairs, slamming cupboards shut, was not that happy! And the comment on the bottom of their menu, is that necessary?

Stopped in at Spoon on a visit to Henley, and absolutely loved it. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, with excellent coffee, and absolutely amazing food. I had the build your own avocado toast, and opted for extra salmon and fried egg. Beautiful. You can really tell they only use the best ingredients. My partner had the Shredded ham hock terrine, which again was awesome, with beautiful toast and very good pickle.

Hardly a shock to struggle to find a table every weekend morning. I’ve been here several times, and always have to wait to get a table, though always happy as there are always tasty little treats to try on the counter. Excellent menu. Simple, but very well cooked. Spicy scrambled eggs are an excellent choice, as is the breakfast burrito. Service is friendly, and ‘nice’. Having a walk around town and looking in windows, I’m not at all surprised as to why Spoon is really the only place full of customers.

Lots of good reviews for this place but it is distinctly average given the cost. Coffee is average. Scrambled egg was slimy. Service definitely of the teenage variety. All ‘crafted with love’ according to their website - give me a break!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great menu - we had delicious apple, lemon and ginger fruit shot; avocado cake, honey and yogurt; banana & peanut butter on sourdough and fabulous coffee. All very resonably prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a truly special, and memorable evening by friends for Spoon Supper Club. A hard ticket to come by, for a very good reason. The food that Greg prepared this evening is right up there with the very best restaurants for miles around. The set 5 Course menu was an absolute triumph. Creative, wonderfully balanced, and executed perfectly. Easily one of the best meals I’ve eaten. They are fully booked within minutes of releasing the next date by all accounts, and it’s easy to see why. I really hope that I’m lucky enough to be able to return as soon as possible.

My wife and I fell upon this delightful upmarket café in Henley. From the warm atmosphere that we were greeted with on arrival to the best coffee and restaurant quality food. Our meals were made to order from the highest quality ingredients surpassing the run of the mill high street chains by far. An absolute must for anyone visiting Henley! Congratulations 'Spoon' we will most definitely be back!!

The Best coffee in Henley, Spoon is not a chain and gosh it shows, everything is fresh and always served with a smile and a chat. If you are going to Henley make sure you go in and treat yourself( lots of freshly made food and drinks) , you will go back again.

We had an evening at Spoon where Greg demonstrated what an excellent and talented chef he is. The food at lunchtime is always well prepared and presented.Coffee excellent also. Highly recommended!
