The best restaurants in Wallingford North South Oxfordshire South East

Lovely visit with a friend to sit out and have coffee during Bunkfest. Unbelievable rudeness from another customer towards the staff who were gracious and tolerant where to eject him would have been entirely appropriate and reasonable. Instead they returned his money as an act of goodwill. Everyone who witnessed this was appalled by how awful he was. Such a lovely cafe!

We've enjoyed the Town Arms before, but after last night, might look elsewhere. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reserved table, the bar was 3 deep, one girl serving and no-one else was on hand to help us. After 15 mins being patient at the bar I spoke up, announced our arrival to the bar lady and proceeded to order food for our family of four. The table was ready, so we sat with our first round of drinks. Half hour later, my wife ordered another round believing that food would be out soon. After an hour waiting for food I went up, the bar girl said she would check, but offered no apology. Out food arrived 10 minutes later, with a short apology from the young waiter. The food was of excellent quality, but by then we were starving and wolfed it down, rather than take our time and enjoy it. Because we'd had to pay in advance, there was no offer of any compensation for our wait, and also no indication of slow timings when we ordered. On a quieter night, I'm sure things would have been fab, but we'd choose somewhere else with more staff on busier evenings in future.

The best afternoon tea around! I have been several times for afternoon tea and have also had the soups, Quiches and sausage roll, everything is amazing! The tearoom is such s beautiful room! It is a must if you are visiting Wallingford I feel very lucky to live around the corner from this lovely place.

French wine bar. Dog friendly. Nice coffee. Something a bit different. We had the tarte flambee gratinee and the courgette one. And the cheese board.

Excellent and tasty dishes. Swift service.

We did not eat here, but as a pre dinner meeting place it is a delight. Great atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff.

I so need to apologise to these owners. I've historically, (somewhat prompted by the kids in my defence) ordered the total rubbish (in my opinion) that Domino's churn out. No more. Yeah, I could save a fiver, and eat cardboard topped with minimal toppings. Or I could have a proper, tasty, gorgeous, hot, steaming pizza, topped with mountains of cheese and toppings. I chose the latter. But, if you'd rather eat cardboard, from a chain that treats you, & their staff like rubbish, there are other options. Up to you.

For a restaurant that is present in the Michelin guide i was a bit disappointed. Food was not mind blowing and service not on the spot even so the restaurant was not full. They wanted to serve us our mains before starters!

A truly delightful seafood experience! Have been wanting to try this restaurant for year's and Finally booked a table. We started with the oysters which were incredibly fresh and flavorful, followed by perfectly seared scallops & Cornish mussels, Washed down with cocktails.The food was only surpassed by the warm and inviting atmosphere and staff. A must-visit for any seafood lover! Will definitely be revisiting again.

Really nice room Liam couldn't have been more helpful. We had a lovely night out in Wallingford and the pub was still lively and really welcoming on a wet Sunday night. We even got a few old skool bar games out. Hard to beat !Liam went out in the rain to put an extra couple of hours on our car in the long stay car park - way beyond normal service!
