The Town Arms in South Oxfordshire

We came to do a charity walk and stayed in the family room. It was comfortable and a good size for 4 of us. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were very friendly. Only downside was that there were quite a few flies in our room and a maggot in the shower. We did inform staff so I am sure it will be sorted.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend mini break and were really impressed with the warm and welcoming staff. We were a little early for check in but we were taken to the room to put our bags in. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is close to the river and right in the heart of Wallingford. A great base. Breakfast was lovely- guests get a 50% discount. I will definitely use this hotel again.

Popped in on a Saturday to find the place was not very busy. A curious entrance around the back through a UPVC door rather than through the front entrance which was blocked. Had the Moving Mountain burger and fries which was tasty and hot and relatively inexpensive compared to many places these days. Drinks were reasonably priced too.

Lovely service, dog friendly, draft cider and great food, a little gem of a place tucked away and the best loaded fries I’ve ever had!

Stayed here for a night last week (return trip after about 5 years). It's very friendly, the rooms are comfortable, the location is great and the burgers are very tasty.

We came for the monthly special - Korean fried chicken burger - which was great and the chilli fries upgrade was definitely not needed but was also delicious.

Popped in this lovely little restaurant purely on the off chance did want a burger as they advertise but only do Roasts on as a Sunday. Was one of the best roasts I’ve ever had! Choose the pork belly with extra stuffing and it was beautiful, great value in my opinion dare say a bit too cheap, will be back as only live in Reading. So very pleased no burgers on Sundays only roasts to discover this place. Cheers guys top notch!

This is a really charming place to stay. Really comfortable and quiet (considering it’s a pub) in a great location. We really appreciated the breakfast discount for B&B guests and that there was no extra charge for our dog. Highly recommended

· The room was absolutely gorgeous, combining classic charm with a modern and refreshing feel. The staff couldn't have been better – friendly and exceptional right from the moment we walked in to when we left. The bar had a really nice variety of drinks. Interestingly, they didn't just stick to the usual draft lagers, which was a pleasant surprise. Now, I have a few new favourite brands to rave about. When we made the booking, we believed this was a breakfastless venu. However, to see the options was great. The breakfast Quesadillas were something else – I can't praise the chef enough for those. Hats off! Our stay was so wonderful, and we're definitely planning on coming back. Thank you for making it such a great experience. Wifi was also a plus, very fast and reliable. Whilst the kids were nodding off, we managed to fit in few episodes of our favourite series. Always a plus to us. Car parking very close and o ly £3.30 for 24 hours. Was nice to forget the car and enjoy walking around the town, where this venu as a base is ideally located.

Amazing little find after a day on the river. Great vibe. The best burger my partner has ever had. I’m gluten & wheat & diary intolerant which can be tricky but the team were really accommodating and helpful.

Real care taken with the ingredients and combinations to make some absolutely fabulous burgers and fries. Must try if you've never been before - another real local gem.

Came here to try a burger after hearing such good reviews, it was the Halloween burger. It was missing the jalapeño popper that was in the photo online. Taste was good but just really expensive £20 for burger, chips and non alcoholic drink. It was ok just not worth the price.

I was so disappointed having been recommended this pub so many times and being local thought we'd try it for a Friday night family meal. Our table was booked at 6.30 - not the busiest time and there were 7 of us. I was told the chicken was off that night so the kids had mashed up burgers and chips and we tried the burgers. The meal was fine- not at all exceptional and quite expensive for what it was. The staff were unattentive and really disracted / on the phone and really could not be less disinterested in us. I am so sad to have to give this a poor review but service and cleanliness of toilets is always important and I feel that the staff let this pub down when it could be a welcoming place for families willing to spend over £100+ on burgers.

This restaurant labels their burgers the best in town, and it definitely lives up to the name. This is the best burger I’ve ever had! I can’t describe how yummy it was but when you taste one you’ll know it’s not like anything else it puts all the other burger chain restaurants to shame! The staff there are lovely so helpful and friendly. Outside area is so nice it’s very cool chill vibe. This place is perfect for anyone and everyone! We will definitely be coming here again today when we want a burger!

Best burger I've had in months , second best was also at the town arms . Food is always excellent , service is fantastic and beer is good , what more can you ask for.
