The Manor Bar & Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

It was our first time at the Manor as it looks such welcoming place when we drive pass. Me and my husband had the Frito Misto sharer for a starter, which was light and fluffy and cooked to perfection. For mains we both had the Onglet steak, it was very very good, full of flavour, good size portion, nice presentation. Even the pepper sauce and the glaze on the beef were amazing. The staff are all very pleasant and proffesional. Cannot wait for the next time we visit.

I enjoyed my evening dinner here. All members of staff were welcoming from the get go, were really polite professional and welcoming. If you visit please try the pork belly! It was really delicious, and was accompanied by a subtly rich gravy, smooth mash potatoes and beautifully cooked greens. I would highly recommend! (The team are also really proud about the process it goes through to get to your plate! A lot of time and love is put into it!) Thanks for welcoming me and I’ll be back the next time in the area.

We visited The Manor today for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. My son said his steak was cooked perfectly and my sea bream (recommended by our waiter) was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and his manner was both friendly and professional. He looked after us really well. I’m just really sorry I didn’t ask for his name so I could include it here. We will definitely be returning.

Four of us enjoyed a meal here this evening, food was great, IPA was the right temperature, service was attentive and finally it was not noisy - I shall definitely be back.

Delivery service for food was extremely good. Food was a little bit cold on arrival. Denise said the pastry was not quite cooked in the vegetarian option and far too much gravy on my dinner. Those were the negatives the other negative was a 10% surcharge which asked was £6.50 on top of our bill Which I think should be optional,overall gets a 3.5 star

Lovely place and lovely walks nearby, the staff also could not have done enough for us - lad running the place was excellent. We were a large group and sadly 3 of us all ordered fish and chips and felt unwell later on in the day, would avoid that order. Others seemed to enjoy their meals. Atmosphere and log fire was good!

We ate today as part or a large party of 21. The kitchen coped so well With our large order. The food came quickly and the kids were prioritised which was fabulous. We all agreed that the food was really Delicious. Good portion size, very flavoursome and the beef was tender and juicy The gravy was out of this world. We highly recommend and we will be back. The roast dinner here was the best roast I think I've ever had. The chicken was so succulent, the vegetables were delicious and felt like main characters in the show, the roast potatoes were crunchy and fluffy, the Yorkshire puddings was huge, and the gravy... Wow, I have literally never tasted depth in a gravy like that! The manager of the pub said it takes them 48 hours to make the gravy and you could tell - devine!!! I would certainly visit again.

Had a family gathering for a member who lives abroad visiting. It was an amazing place to meet. Staff were very attentive and patient as we were waiting for some to arrive. Food came out piping hot and delicious 😋 Definitely meet up in the Manor again. Can’t wait for the warmer weather as the garden looks amazing for families with children.

Incredible food and fantastic service, we visit once or twice a month and are never let down. Not only is it a family and dog friendly venue it also feels like a distant family.

Held a family wake here mid January. Buffet for 50 was plentiful, colourful, varied and freshly made. Excellent service.

We had a large family meal / birthday lunch for 14 people and everything was fantastic! The food was great; the pizzas, the specials (duck and sea bream dishes), everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We were very well looked after by 2 gentleman. Thank you very much!

Had a huge family meal here at christmas with 17 people. Staff were excellent in planning, answering emails very promptly and being super flexible with our ever changing numbers. On the day everything went extremely smoothly, food was delicious and it all came in great time. Staff were very attentive and helpful throughout. It was a huge success, and the first time the whole family had met up in over 10 years. definitely coming back!

So very disappointing. Spend your money elsewhere.

Día de Navidad terrible experiencia 2 horas de espera para nuestra cena totalmente inaceptable el gerente explicó según el ordenador que debería haber funcionado y por lo tanto no sabía cómo sucedió esto. Puedo contarle cómo sucedió con ambición y sin miedo a las consecuencias. Su excusa es la computadora y luego culpó al chef de lo que un hombre débil era completamente incapaz de manejar. Obviamente ganar dinero es más importante que dar un servicio.

Wasn’t sure what to expect when I first came here, but I have to say I have been very impressed to say the least. Ordered a stake, I absolutely loved it. With all honesty if I could give this place more than 5 star I would. Absolutely fantastic from staff to food and service. Location a bit out of town, but well worth the travel. I definitely recommend this place!

Nice and cosy place with nice and friedly staff and great facilities like a quite large size car park also you can hire outdoor tent for events, is a big pub divide in two parts with the separate rooms one of the with a fire place nice food etc Overall good spot all year

My husband literally fell in love with the stake hear. I've never heard him make so many appreciative noises while eating. 🤣 The mocktils where gorgouse too. I had the pie and it was to die for!! Just like my great grandmother used to make. Which was the reason for are visit. (A little trip down memory lane while looking for my grandfathers grave) I remember this pub from my childhood, the owners now have done a wonderful job with it.❤ We will deffo be returning to try the Sunday roast 😁👍

Great! Very friendly staff, delicious food, nice decor. Dog friendly in the bar. We called in for lunch as the pub had great reviews already, and it didn't disappoint.

¡Qué excelente almuerzo de domingo nos dio la mansión a los seis! Mi primera vez allí para almorzar. Huevo escocés/alitas de pollo/buñuelos de coli para empezar, luego barriga de cerdo/pollo supremo/calabacín y Wellington de setas para la alimentación. Estábamos demasiado llenos para el pudín, ya que los asados vienen con tantas verduras diferentes, además de patatas asadas y un pudín Yorkshire. Muy buen servicio y amable. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar para su almuerzo del domingo, pero, para que conste, también hacen grandes pizzas en los otros días de la semana!

Nice venue,very busy,too much going on at once,went for a fortieth,food bit bland,chicken was anemic,meant to be open till eleven thirty,closed at 10 pm, apparently this happens all the time,fake complaints I was told

Realmente quiero escribir una buena crítica, ya que el personal era servicial y comprensivo cuando llegamos tarde y se aseguró de que todavía podíamos ser alimentados. Sin embargo, la comida era un desastre - risotto primavera, calamares y pollo frito eran todos, francamente ninguna palabra para describir, excepto no comestible. Me pregunto si el chef se había ido a casa. Un huésped que necesita gluten libre afortunadamente volvió a comprobar después de pedir gluten libre, pero esto se había olvidado / perdido ... . . . podría haber sido horrible para ella si no hubiera vuelto a preguntar.

Great pizza on a Monday and nice to sit outside with a drink while the kids play on the swings and slide.

Bonito pub, pero sin cerveza en el bar. Buen espacio exterior. Un pub muy ocupado, vergüenza por la cerveza. Lástima que no haya otros pubs en el pueblo.

Had a great night out with an Abba tribute band. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive and the pizza was fab. Drinks were reasonable (we only bought soft drinks)

My brothers and nephew took me to the Manor for a birthday pizza. Fantastic, delicious, and definitely worth a repeat visit. We used the Manor before for my mothers wake. They were unbelievably accommodating, and the food was great.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. A family party in the teepee was brilliant. Outstanding barbecue in lovely environment. You all worked so hard and were so kind. A really good birthday bash! We hired the tipee for a work event, there were 15 of us and from start to finish we received exceptional service. We were supported with the planning and were able to pre order all food and request a specific layout of tables and chairs. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right! Thank you ☺️ We will definitely recommend you and we’ll be back again for sure.

What a fab spot! People smiling everywhere, both customers and staff alike. Sat outside and as it cooled the little overhead heaters in the booths were brill. Even ate outside... pizza from the proper oven, and some small bites shared was really tasty. Thank you.

Was passing through with my daughter and her friends on her birthday and decided to stop for lunch. I said I wasn't sitting with them as it was part of my daughters birthday day out. The staff looked after them very well (they were all under 18) and even gave my daughter a mock-tail on the house to celebrate her birthday. Can't fault that kind of decent service. I sat comfortably in the lounge watching the rugby. All in all an unexpected and pleasant surprise. The girls liked the food and the bill was reasonable.

Food good. No atmosphere virtually empty by 8.30 pm. service not the best. Drinks taken to wrong table to start with then at the end of the meal I ordered a black coffee which was forgotten so had to asked again and then they brought a white coffee. Felt like they could wait for us to leave even though it wasnt late.

Food very good , atmosphere cold. Staff a little uncaring. They tried to serve our drinks to the wrong table. I asked for a black coffee at the end of our meal which they forgot and on asking again they brought me a white coffee. The by 8.3p the place started to empty and we felt like they couldn’t wait for us to leave, didn’t feel welcoming at all. Such a shame

I took my mum for an impromptu meal and was very fortunate to have found your establishment. The service was brilliant, very informed and friendly staff. The manager was an absolute gentleman and is doing a fantastic job. Our food was great, fresh bread, steaks cooked to perfection & absolutely lovely atmosphere to converse and take in the great vibe that you get. I will definitely be coming back to sample the fresh wood fired pizzas, wish I knew about you sooner! Thank you for a great evening!

I really like it here, have been a few times and the staff remembered me and manager came over for a little chat. Really appreciate the personal touch. Lovely fire to sit by and nice ambience in the bars, the resturant is also great. Highly recommend the cheesey garlic bread!!!

We hired a gorgeous out building that The Manor have, lovely size, clean, perfect for hosting a birthday or celebration. Cristina was great and she couldn't do enough for me and my family to make the surprise for my mums 60th birthday perfect, the food went down a hit and was really tasty, all the guest had a lovely experience and we will all definitely return, thank you to everyone!

I love this place! One of the men in the village had died, it was the day of the funeral, they opened the pub early so people weren’t standing around in the cold waiting. After the funeral and wake, a lot of us headed up to the Manor, I couldn’t be more amazed at the support these guys gave for one of their regular customers who had passed! I could never recommend them enough for anything! They really do go above and beyond for their customers! Atmosphere is always amazing, staff always kind and polite, it feels like a safe place to take my children! Thank you Mario, Christina and Team! Shocking experience for Christmas dinner this year. After having a pre set menu and booking time, it took nearly 2 hours for the food service to begin and when it did the food came stone cold with pale roast potatoes an NO YOURKSHIRE PUDDING! Worst Christmas dinner experience and nearly ruined our family’s special day, first time I haven’t been able to eat Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. Poor Christmas menu to choose from aswell. Polite staff but very disorganised.

Came with friends and Childers for Santa night. Ordered pizza and chips, chips came after 45 minutes like warm, pizza was served 25 minutes later. Charged us 10% service charge even though we tried ti order at the bar several times due to slow table service. Charges us over £5 for a small, and I mean small portion of chips. Totally disgusted with this and service. Staff were rude and unhelpful and service terrible

Lovely Lunch. Had a lovely lunch to day at The Manor Bar. Warm welcome as always. Really lovely food. Also very cosy and warm on a very cold day.

What fabulous food this place has. We went for a Thursday lunch and were slightly concerned when we arrived that there were no other customers there. But we shouldn't have been worried. The food was truly wonderful - top notch ingredients and lovingly cooked. Definitely a place to go back to.

Nice place good value food and drinks, Pizzas cooked fresh to order and very nice. Only negatives were noisy bar clientele and unruly noisy other patrons who let kids run around. Staff good and attentive, couldn't fault them or the food

We picked this place by random to meet friends. When we arrived, some other customers had ordered pizza and they looked amazing. We ordered four pizzas and agreed they were the best we’ve had in ages. Perfectly cooked. Nice staff and good service. Worth the drive for the pizza alone!

After seeing such good reviews we were looking forward to our meal, to celebrate my birthday. I had a veg burger, which was tasteless, and not made on site. ( I asked) My daughter had a chicken burger, and she was equally un impressed. And my husband had pork ribs and chips, they did bring him Some coleslaw , which he especially requested, he said his meal was ok, But sadly we will not go back , as we found it mediocre , at best.

5 star service and food. We was treated like family by the owner and staff who could not do enough for us and was only to happy to explain how the food is sauced local and made to a special recipe. All set in a beautiful setting

Great looking place with beautiful light everywhere. Very friendly staff around, but not the waitress who was in charge of our table. When we ordered a bottle of Crémant, lady brought a Pink Prosecco with the words "it's definitely Crémant", which obviously isn't, we refused, asked for white wine, which was on special, they brought us red wine Pinot Noir, which was also absolutely different, when the waitress went to change it she brought the last bottle with the words "well, this is the last wine, which I can propose you" Served by the same waitress, when our food was brought, she sarcastically asked "are you finally okay now?", which was extremely impolite. The steak, which was supposed to be rare, was perfectly well done, steak knives also had to be asked for, because the waitress ignored our table. However, the young waiter and manager, who approached us at the end was very polite and kind.
