Stopped here for a very welcome break at the end of a day's walking on the Chiltern Way. The coffee and cake were excellent, so good, in fact, that we repeated the experience the next morning before setting off up the hill. We also bought fresh food, cheese, houmous and a cheese scone for lunch. Delicious!

We stopped here today while on a walk. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Two of us had the carrot cake and it really was outstanding. The other member of our group enjoyed her rocky road cake. We had filter coffee which was good. We sat outside in the sunshine. It is a great little shop run by the community I understand selling a wide variety of products. They even have second hand books. I wanted to thank the staff and tell them how good the carrot cake was but they had a steady flow of customers when we left. We will call in again next time we walk in Ewelme.

I often cycle from Reading to Ewelme, and always home in on this place for a cup of tea and cake. It never disappoints. A real 'local shop for local people', it's always a pleasure to stop here. Its quirkiness is its beauty, and the volunteer staff are always super-friendly and, unusually in this day and age, have time to talk, adding to the joy of the place. Their cakes are locally sourced, and the sandwiches are freshly prepared and tasty, and worth the small wait.

Two tables inside the multipurpose village shop - very cute. I think they do soups as well as teas. A range of things to buy in the shop - mainly of the posh biscuits variety - but also some nice looking fresh fruit, eggs, etc..

A small shop and cafe, which I understand is run by local volunteers. All in all nothing outstanding, but it's good to see people working together for their community.

Set in a pretty village this should be a gem but due to non existing service and poor coffee give it a miss. Tables not cleared and staff unsure of prices made for an unexpected long stop on our journey.

Great little community shop, cyclist friendly and a convenient stop on some of the routes round it. Solid menu and selection of products, has a card machine but it is a minimum of £5 spend to use it.

The village store is a community shop run by a team of volunteers that epitomises the sense of community in this beautiful village. The range of sandwiches, soups and cakes is limited, but they try to source local products and food is prepared fresh on the premises. It is good honest food served inside the shop whose stock line the walls. People come in and out to make purchases. Because it was school holiday time numbers of small children came in to purchase sweets out of jars. The serving staff were lovely.

Much wider range of items than I expected. The tea and coffee options are sensible without being overwhelming. They have a bike pump, if you get a puncture on the way, you can top the tyre up. There's a good range of sweets here too. Bread too if you want it.

Great coffee and cake and simple sandwiches (made fresh). A few seat outside which was perfect.Additionally, I was able to borrow their track pump which saved me from a slow ride home! Friendly staff too.

Very limited with only two tables but the coffee and cake are delicious and the staff of two run the cafe part and the shop. The store itself is full of interesting thing to purchase.

My husband literally fell in love with the stake hear. I've never heard him make so many appreciative noises while eating. 🤣 The mocktils where gorgouse too. I had the pie and it was to die for!! Just like my great grandmother used to make. Which was the reason for are visit. (A little trip down memory lane while looking for my grandfathers grave) I remember this pub from my childhood, the owners now have done a wonderful job with it.❤ We will deffo be returning to try the Sunday roast 😁👍

I Wasn’t expecting too much from a pub dinner in a rather nondescript Oxfordshire village on a Tuesday evening but I was most pleasantly surprised. The pub is very old and as such cosy and inviting. There is a good selection of draught beer served at one of the fireside tables by most welcoming staff. The menu is varied and original and prices are reasonable. One of the specials of the day was sea bass. It was as good as any top London restaurant. The 45 minute drive was well worth it and I shall be returning soon.

Consistently good. Freshly cooked light meals, decent coffee and friendly service. Bike parking in the garden too. A great alternative to Riverside nearby
