The Dock Bar & Cafe in South Oxfordshire

We were pleased to find this little gem at the marina and have returned several times, usually for breakfast. It is well used by people with boats moored nearby and that has created a friendly atmosphere. Not pretentious but friendly host. Good quality produce is used and prices very reasonable.

Just for the marina alone, 5 stars. Taken time to relax here as on route to coast from Warwickshire to Poole with Harley on route. Top coffee and a bite to eat.

Tasty veggie burger made with mashed potatoes and veggies with a crunchy breading. Standard frozen burger, but it was prepared with care, which makes the difference between something you enjoy and would order again and something that you can just get down. Garnished with onion and served with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber salad and some very nicely-cooked chips. Appreciated after a long day of cruising down the Thames in the hot sun. Along with a glass of cider! Additional vegetarian and vegan options would be appreciated, but we enjoyed what they had.

Took my dad here on father's day and it was a stunning day. We had lunch and sat outside over looking the marina. This is a little gem in Caversham and highly recommend going for a few drinks and some food. Has a really nice and relaxed vibe.

Came here over a year ago for breakfast and wasn't impressed. Driving past and Decided to give the cafe another go and wow. What an improvement the atmosphere was great and the breakfast I had (full English) was genuinely the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Last time the fried egg was cold and the hash brown was underdone. This time no problem at all. Very well laid out and a pleasent dining experience.

Lovely little hidden gem of a bar!!. But I was quickly disappointed in how untidy it was (floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped). I pulled out my chair and there was dust on the floor where it had been , the food was very nice, although when I left the building the smell of grease on my clothes was overpowering and I ended up throwing away a jumper I wore there as I couldn’t get the smell out! The staff were pleasant however, they were struggling at keeping a happy and positive demeanour. We would maybe visit again if things can be turned around.

Website says food until 8:30 pm. Turned up at 7:50 but miserable grumpy bloke behind the bar said they'd stop serving. I pointed out the website says 8:30pm but he gruffly said "no, 8:00pm!" It was only 7:50 but we just left as he clearly didn't want to serve us. Shame as we wanted to try this place as it's under new management.

Really nice Cafe and excellent food reasonably priced. You can sit out or in. Plenty of cover for sitting out. Staff really attentive.

Went to the Dock cafe this morning. It’s near Caversham Lakes overlooking the marina. Food was excellent and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

A welcoming and attractive cafe overlooking the marina. Free parking. Friendly and attentive staff. This was our second visit for sausage baguettes and hot drinks after our lake swim. Recommended.

Found this little gem and couldn’t be happier, although it is a little drive away from the main road on a sunny day you could be on holiday with the beautiful views. There is a great selection of drinks and everything we ate was really tasty, I had the breakfast and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had, even the coffee was amazing! The chef Luke even came out and chatted with us which was lovely. Olivia who owns the bar and the rest of the staff working were welcoming and chatty and nothing was too much trouble, she also mentioned about all the events she’s putting on that are coming up so I will definitely be back very soon. Thanks to everyone at The Dock!

Great beer & lovely staff, gorgeous setting by the marina nicely decorated. Nice place to relax after a long day.

Had breakfast today which was really good , staff try really hard to make it a memorable experience and every time we come they succeed . Prices are good (I am always going to want it cheaper no matter what price they charge) food has always been really nice , the ham egg and chips are the business and the pizza is pretty good too . Breakfast is always great with the added bonus of decent coffee 😎 well done to Olivia and her team.

Wonderful place to go for a drink and some food. A great location, great staff/service. Went with a group of my friends, had lots of different drinks, all were great. Lovely to have the option to sit in and outside. All in all great atmosphere, will definitely be returning again.

It was the first time we ever came here for a drink with friends during the evening and the place was nice to look at and a lovely location but let down by the smell in the bar and the odour on our clothing, just smells of fried food and our clothing stank. The staff were lovely but two of the guys in our group had IPA and it was just too warm. Sent an email next day an no reply. Needs sorting if they want return business

Love coming here, it’s so calming and beautiful. The staff are very accommodating and welcoming. Olivia is outstanding, the service and aura of her shines through the The Dock itself. Great food and drinks all round. Always great music and events on like pub quiz’s, karaoke and silent discos. Highly recommend to pay a visit.

We were looking for somewhere to hold a wake for my mum,stumbled upon The Dock Bar & Cafe in Caversham,what a stroke of luck.The owner Olivia,went above & beyond to accommodate our needs,to the point of providing an area for us to display some photos & memorable items for people to look at,even playing some of mum’s favourite music in the back ground,whilst we chatted.Olivia is a STAR,cannot thank her enough,lovely & friendly personality.The food was lovely & kept in constant supply by the chef LUKE,top job LUKE. The setting is lovely,a place you can go,have a meal or a pint & relax next to the marina.The Dock Bar & Cafe deserves a much higher rating. A wonderful place to finish off a difficult day. Such a beautiful bar and cafe with a sun sweet spot that feels like you’re on holiday with beautiful views and even better food, was greeted with a warm welcome by Olivia and her staff who were sooo accommodating to us. We had such an amazing time and a good laugh, Will defo be coming back again soon! Can’t wait for your pub quiz in a few weeks!

Enjoy every visit here. Staff always give a warm welcome and it’s got a nice atmosphere. Great spot at the marina……a lovely little oasis. The breakfast at the weekend is superb. All in all a great place to have a drink, coffee or a bite to eat. The Reading riviera is on your doorstep!

Having a drink and a bite to eat here in the sunshine literally feels like you're on holiday - even in winter! If the weather is dark and moody you can guarantee the Dock will be warm, cosy and so welcoming... a real escape. I love this place.

Serves good quality cooked food, good selection of hot snd cold beverages on offer, excellent service, staff always welcoming, very friendly atmosphere and amazing views of the boats in the marina, one of my favourite places to visit and relax

I have been to the dock multiple times since Olivia opened its doors again. The views over the marina are breathtaking on a sunny evening whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The staff are always super friendly and attentive and alway make you feel welcome....

Terrible service! Waited 45mins for a halloumi burger and they weren’t even busy, they had run out of chips, forgot our drinks order and our cutlery!!

My new favourite bar/café! Used to be Boaters, right on the Kennet overlooking Caversham Marina off Henley Road - feels like being on the Solent, such a refreshing change and we were given such a warm welcome by Lawrence and the team, I can’t wait to go back! Just burgers and pizza were available last night and we tried both - delicious, the new chef is GOOD (potato salad to die for!) Lots of events with live music planned so will return very soon - these guys deserve all the success, so enthusiastic to give good customer service 🍷 🍔 🎶

Incredible atmosphere, great prices and above and beyond staff.
