We got into the pub at 11:55 and got told we could order food in 5 minutes then go up again they said 15/30 then take a seat again to see someone place a good order so we went up and by that time it was a hour wait so we walked out like 3 other tables did. We won't be going back

Excellent pub, nice food and nice beer.

Went back this morning, after a day in the Dolly yesterday and still, by a country mile, the best breakfast in town

We went to The Dolphin for breakfast. It was fantastic. The food was freshly cooked to a high standard. It was great value. The service was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back if in the area and would highly recommend. We were very happy.

Lovely and friendly. Cosy. Beer garden at the back with an array of sheltered and open seating. Family freindly. Historical building.

Excellent value for money food, amazing portion size and tasty food, friendly efficient staff, been coming here for years. Lovely size garden where you can dine too. They do a hearty Sunday roast too. Best book in advance to secure a table.

Got kicked out for no reason, asked why but just told me to leave, the staff even intimidated me by surrounding me with 4 people. They don't like outsiders, stay away, I was scared they were going to hurt me. The authorities need to do some background checks on this establishment.

I like the dolphin but on a yearly trip on Tuesday I had homemade chicken curry. I couldn’t recognise any of the ingredients and it definitely wasn’t homemade. I felt really let down.

Out for a retirement do and wanted something light to soak up the drink! Opted for z bacon and brie panini and got a dry2 slices of streaky and a slab of unmelted brie. Not nice, not hot, not even warm. Chips were good, beer cold and crisp. Eaten here before and the breakfast is second to none.

Hidden gem old style pub with a great locals spirit serving good low cost food. Visited today and they had a jacket potato bar with various fillings as well as a full varied menu. Had their Bacon, Brie and Cranberry (BBC) baguette which came with chips which was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Decent food at good price. Dog friendly. Staff helpful. Will be back again.

Great old pub in an interesting town. We had the carvery which, was very nice meat was tender and gad lots of flavour and plenty of veg and potatoes. Price wasn't bad either.

Called ahead to book a table to watch the football, they gave our table away as it was “too busy”. Told us we could sit outside, but the heaters were broken and only plastic cups. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great pub allows dogs in and has tasty beers (ales). Food was excellent and big portions! Altogether a fab pub!

We visited this pub on a Sunday around 2pm. We chose the carvery at £13.50. It was worth every penny. I had some beef and pork, and then you helped yourself to the numerous vegetables, including cauliflower cheese, pigs in blanke, s and red cabbage. The staff are amazing, friendly and very efficient. Next time we're in Wallingford, we'll definitely be using this pub again. Well done, guys!!!!!

We often have a takeaway breakfast from the Dolphin when at work which is always a nice treat. All good and fresh. We popped in for a breakfast and actually sat in and still good, fresh and certainly plentiful! Thank you very much!

Went in to try the breakfast for the first time, wasn't disappointed. Great value, portion and quality. The changing facilities for babies are good and really clean as well. Will definitely be back.

Visited The Dolphin with my motorbike owners club for breakfast. The landlady, Emma, was lovely, the food was delicious. We'll be making this a regular meeting spot for sure. Highly recommended

Food not quite as top standard as last visit and this is the second visit that a table wasn't reserved as someone forgot to do it. But we was offered a alternative table but was sat in a busy walk way. Please can staff mention that lattes are charged extra as its only standard coffee to get with Yr breakfast.

Good atmosphere for a work outing

We had our club Christmas meal for 36 people and Emma and her team were fantastic! Great service, delicious food, friendly and helpful staff! The whole place has a wonderful warm, festive atmosphere .

Best put in wallingford, lovely staff Emma, the owner, is a lovely girl. and the food the is to die for. we had a family get-together for my sister in law 60th birthday, and we all had roasts, and everyone said how nice it was. we recommend you go there.

We had the carvery. It was delicious. Great selection of meat. Wonderful vegetables… all the sauces and gravy. Excellent value for money . Always a friendly welcome.

The dear Dolphin was great...as it always is...it deserves to be packed....but that doesnt mean the service is worse...or the food not as good...or that we felt squashed up....its just always our choice when all the family meet up....thankyou again Dolphin....

Best food in Wallingford, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, great staff, speedy service and insane value for money. Seperate dining and bar areas with a large rear beer garden suits all people's needs

Average food took 40 minutes for our breakfast to arrive not worth the drive from Didcot

Tuesday lunchtime. The Dolphin, recommended by locals, appeared to be the only pub in the town centre doing lunch. Cheery welcome. General feeling was a bit rundown and grubby. But lunch (full English and ploughman's) was very substantial and good value. Beer seemed well kept. BUT it is absurd that the rules insisted that each visit to the bar had to be paid for - no tab nor "trust" system. Why on earth foes the management want to pay three or four card service charges ! Crazy.

Over 50s menu is fantastic. Under £6 for a roast dinner.

Nice place but some staff is not good with clients. First time happen in my life. A staff is rude with me. I just ask one minute to order a drink but she take it personally and being rude with me

Had the full English, only 2 mushrooms, bacon was overcooked, sausages were so hard I had a job to cut them, certainly won't be going back or recommending the Dolphin .

I was treated to breakfast at The Dolphin today by my son for my birthday yesterday. All I can say is WOW! if you want an amazing, delicious, competitively priced breakfast, you need to visit The Dolphin. Lovely atmosphere, attentive waiting staff and a varied menu with something for everyone. Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We will be back!

Used to be excellent food. Not sure if there's a new chef. We had breakfast beginning of Sept 2023 and it wasn't great. No taste and smaller portions than we'd had previously ( before covid). They are now only serving evening meals on a Tues & Thurs. Was our 'go to' pub for meals with friends. Will be avoiding now. Gone downhill quickly.

Booked it for Sunday morning of bunkfest...just as well it as it was really busy but buzzy too. Excellent system in place food one way tea and toast another slick fast food service really yummy and excellent value all managed by nice staff Will be back soon

Great pub, but be highly aware of what spirits you are ordering. I ordered a branded vodka and was given the cheap vodka but charged for the branded one! Luckily, I noticed a d my partner could taste the difference. It was such a shame because it had a good atmosphere, but after that, all I could only think of was how many people they had ripped off that night?! They must have made a fortune. I won't be back personally, just because of that. I may sound old-fashioned, but I have my morals.

Myself & my husband often visit here, mainly just for drinks. But we decided to try Breakfast after hearing nothing but good reviews. I had the small breakfast which was very nice see attached photo and my husband had the large. Cannot fault them. It certainly filled us up for the day! Not a complaint but the plates could be doing with being a little bit bigger, only so the food is spread out and the toast being separate too. Would definitely recommend going there. We will be back to try something else from the main menu!!

Busy , however a good job on a budget, The breakfast here is without doubt in my opinion the best in Wallingford, quick from order to table, quality food cooked to order, presented with the home cooked comfort of home, Thank you to all the morning staff. Still the best place to go for breakfast.

I often go to the Dolphin, usually for breakfast, but on this last occasion, for a Sunday Roast. The Dolphin has always been reasonably inexpensive but, as with everywhere, their prices are slowly creeping up. I would say that they are still very good value. Breakfasts are always good and the Sunday Roast (a carvery) is more than good enough. You’re not going to get the crispiest roast potatoes with a carvery but they are still better than some potatoes that I’ve paid three times the price for. I usually judge a Sunday Roast on the potatoes. Staff are always very helpful and friendly and the Dolphin is a great place when you’re on a budget.

What a fabulous place! A really lovely atmosphere, locals enjoying a drink together, families and their friendly dogs. Wallingford is so blessed to have such a fab local. Great lunch, really well kept beers ( we know, we’re ex publicans ) and considering how busy they were, the most immaculate loos I’ve ever seen. Second time we’ve been to the Dolphin and both times were thoroughly enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend.

Unfortunately we believed the good reviews on TripAdvisor about the Dolphin. We were expecting a lovely breakfast based on what we had read. The eggs were hard, sausages overdone, the waffles tasted shop bought rather than freshly made and were over toasted, dry and crumbly. The waitress was inexperienced and abrupt She didn't say thank you after we'd paid or ask us if everything was alright with our meal. The prices were different from those advertised on their website. (See attached) we paid 8.50 for full English rather than 6 but still reasonable if the food was worth eating. Avoid if you want a nice breakfast!

Hands down the best breakfast I've had for years. High quality ingredients, (the sausages were particularly good), cooked to perfection and so reasonably priced. Friendly, curteous and effective staff completed the experience. Made my day.

Delicious stilton and bacon baguette. Could have had another free (two for one Tuesdays)! What made this experience so good was the young people behind the bar, and bringing the food to tables. Very efficient, polite and friendly. Also, they obviously like each other a lot, and there was lots of general happy chatter amongst them. Kind to locals too - I bet that's appreciated by them. Thank you.

Sign outside states best Breakfast in the shires and I don’t think they are lying, good quality bacon, sausages that taste expensive and if good quality I would hazard a guess from a local farm shop. Amazing dark yellow egg whites, baked beans black pudding toast fantastic breakfast
