Thr room was perfect for our needs

We've enjoyed the Town Arms before, but after last night, might look elsewhere. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reserved table, the bar was 3 deep, one girl serving and no-one else was on hand to help us. After 15 mins being patient at the bar I spoke up, announced our arrival to the bar lady and proceeded to order food for our family of four. The table was ready, so we sat with our first round of drinks. Half hour later, my wife ordered another round believing that food would be out soon. After an hour waiting for food I went up, the bar girl said she would check, but offered no apology. Out food arrived 10 minutes later, with a short apology from the young waiter. The food was of excellent quality, but by then we were starving and wolfed it down, rather than take our time and enjoy it. Because we'd had to pay in advance, there was no offer of any compensation for our wait, and also no indication of slow timings when we ordered. On a quieter night, I'm sure things would have been fab, but we'd choose somewhere else with more staff on busier evenings in future.

Just had a burger, it was a bit greasy!

We came to do a charity walk and stayed in the family room. It was comfortable and a good size for 4 of us. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were very friendly. Only downside was that there were quite a few flies in our room and a maggot in the shower. We did inform staff so I am sure it will be sorted.

Great beer and food and open mic night well supported. Friendly people too!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend mini break and were really impressed with the warm and welcoming staff. We were a little early for check in but we were taken to the room to put our bags in. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is close to the river and right in the heart of Wallingford. A great base. Breakfast was lovely- guests get a 50% discount. I will definitely use this hotel again.

Popped in on a Saturday to find the place was not very busy. A curious entrance around the back through a UPVC door rather than through the front entrance which was blocked. Had the Moving Mountain burger and fries which was tasty and hot and relatively inexpensive compared to many places these days. Drinks were reasonably priced too.

Good cider, tasty burgers and friendly staff. What more could you want?

What a great place. The family room is very nice and the food delicious. Very friendly staff and even 50% off everything at breakfast for overnight guests. We were there on the Thames path. It is located ideal

Fantastic smashburgers (available gluten free buns) enjoyed the crinkly, crispy/crunchy chips and beer collection. Even gluten free draught beers. Hot dog was snappy and tasty. Friendly staff, nice dining room. Definitely worth going out of your way for the burgers!!!

Stayed here for a night last week (return trip after about 5 years). It's very friendly, the rooms are comfortable, the location is great and the burgers are very tasty.

Service was sub par for the price you pay, came in for food but decided to go elsewhere just down to the lack of friendliness. A pint of coke will run you £4 and the syrup tastes off. Bartender left our drinks on the drip trays that they were poured on before walking away to run food leaving us to awkwardly reach across the bar to retrieve them.

Good location, no parking but reasonably priced long stay nearby. Food is good, 2 for 1 burger offer. Limited beer selection. Room wa near the road so a little noisy at peak times.

The town arms in wallingford has the best food and service, everyone who works there goes out of their way to make sure you are best looked after. Cheers Jim/Jesse and team. 😀👍

What a lovely surprise! Booked for Mother’s Day at the last minute , was so happy to get a reservation. We were absolutely blown away by the most delicious roast dinner. Everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, portion size was ample and I felt cozy and happy when my meal was finished. Huge compliments to the chef! Bearing in mind we drove an hour and half in the rain for this homely well cooked and delicious meal. Thank you !

When arrived the bar-staff welcomed me warmly and created a pleasant atmosphere. Due to the wide variety of burgers and hotdogs, I took some time to decide what to have before settling on the pig dog and buffalo wings, which, I must say, did not disappoint. This place is fantastic, and I will most certainly be returning. Thanks to the staff, I had a great time here.

Since renovated, the pub looks better. Had a nice relaxing drink there. My friend stayed there for double room £100 a night. His room looked well decorated, comfortable and clean.

The town arms is consistently friendly with deliciously comforting food always served with a smile. All round good pub with yummy food that's unique to the area.
