Great pub with a straightforward food menu. We come here because they have a bouncy castle and children's climbing frame with plenty of space for the kids to run around.

Real nice pub. One for the people who fish.can Park and fish as long as you use the pub before leaving

Superb, proper local pub with great food and a friendly welcome. Lovely and clean inside and an excellent large garden with outdoor seating and a play area. Off street parking and dog friendly. Best homemade burger I've had in ages. Good range of beers and wine. Reccomend if you are in the area.

Had the boys 8th birthday at the plough. Nicely looked after by the plough with the landlord judging the best Lego car for us. The kids had fish and chips from the kitchen which went down well

Lovely setting and amazing service.

Just went for drinks, as a stop on a cycle ride. Nice staff and lovely garden for children to play in. Plenty of space in nice weather and you can even arrive by the river Thames.

A good pub with excellent beer and food in a beautiful village. It is exceptional for its huge garden, running a long way down to the River Thames, with its own moorings.

Nice old pub in a relatively quiet village. Parking and beer garden. Local ales and good food at reasonable prices. friendly bar staff, no complaints at all. Had a large group Christmas lunch here and they coped really well.

Such a cosy little pub, a proper 'country pub'. Really nice with the fire and the low ceilings. The food was tasty and the portions are very generous.

Charming and comfy pub. The food was good quality and well made. They have an amazing garden which was pleasant even on a hot day thanks to all the trees. Overall a wonderful experience in a sweet village.

Was given a menu then told no food as there was a wedding party?????

Nice pub beers good but pricey but they all are Food ok nothing special but expensive for what you get won't be eating there again sorry to say.

Really good all round, good for kids with staff making simple stuff and the massive garden with play area that back’s on to a lovely stretch of the Thames.

Very disappointed! Lasagne was small, over cooked, reheated with a dry piece of so called garlic bread spread with pesto! We were also served had a pastie with soggy pastry and unappetising looking vegetables served in a small ramekin. When asked how the food was, it was frowned upon when we complained. Needless to say we will not be eating there again.

Wow thank you Liam and the staff for a wonderful evening. The food was top quality. I had the french onion soup and the magnificent burger. The service was top drawer. I would thoroughly recommend the Plough for a great dining experience. Well done.

A quaint little pub with plenty of off-street parking, a massive beer garden and lots of historical features. The food is also very satisfying and hearty (the fish & chips being of particular note), service is friendly and the location tranquil. An ideal stop-off on the way home if, like me, you've just spent an afternoon looking at miniature towns and villages at the nearby Pendon Museum.

Lovely food. I had the fish and chips which came with the best mushy peas I've ever tasted, and delicious skin-on chips.

This is a lovely traditional country pub. Plenty of parking, and close to Wittenham Clumps for a refreshment stop after your walk. We had a great meal here, and returned two weeks later for a post-walk pint. Child and dog friendly, with local beers on offer. Friendly staff and very welcoming. We'll be back again soon.

The food at the plough never fails to impress. They have a great selection of local beer. The garden is lovely and the pub has a proper pub feel. Proud to call it my village pub.

Nice little village pub with good food. We moored on the Thames at the bottom of the garden, they were happy for us to stay overnight since we were spending money in the pub.

Lovely staff, good food, really friendly atmosphere. Welcoming to children and animals, great outdoor seating area with play equipment and swings. Past the seating there is a large outdoor grass area for events that leads over the brow of the hill to a short walk down to the riverside. We aren't locals but we pass through often and keep coming back and we are never disappointed.

Enjoyed a decent meal on a bank holiday so the garden was naturally heaving but space inside. A free house so not just offering the major beers for a change. Nearer Didcot than Abingdon on the way down from the Thames path and worth a stop.

We came for a Sunday lunch, 2 families, 4 children. The staff could not have been more accommodating and so friendly. We sat in the old part of the pub and it was lovely, proper pub, great food, supurb location. Hope to be back soon, thank you.

Nice deco, very welcoming team with a large garden. Good beers. Food not quite so top-notch despite going on a few occasions. Greasy fish, average chips, dry burger, fish pie needed cooking anew. Great stop-in for a drink after a trip to the Clumps but can recommend better quality pub food elsewhere.

Truly outstanding. Gardens down to river, seating and bouncy castle outside for good weather, atmospheric pub inside dating back mid 1800s at least, log burner, low ceilings. Good ales and wines. Menu better in the flesh than online. Service good, very friendly. Cannot find fault in anything. Had pork cutlet from specials menu, fish pie from regular and mixed fruit & mango sundaes with Rude Not To IPA & NZ Sauvignon Blanc - everything top notch Highly recommended

Always excellent and a delightful place for lunch, inside or outside. The food is always wonderful. I had a Goat's Cheese in batter, chips, onion rings (the best anywhere) and it was all yummy. Service is always too notch. The garden area is lovely, we always walk down to the river. Highly recommended

Lovely pub immersed in the countryside, not far away from Oxford and Abingdon. The garden is amazing, and food was really great!

Went during a music fest. Great time. The BBQ was only hamburgers and sausages. Nothing at all at the level that it should be for a music festival. Strongly suggest putting some investment into real BBQ next time. It WILL win the crowd. Pulled pork never fails to generate a queue.

I haven't eaten there so I can't comment on the food but the beers are good and the staff friendly. There's a cracking garden which leads down to a quiet back water on the Thames and each year they host a great, family friendly, 3 day live music event which I attend without fail.

We stopped here on charity cycle tour to London, sandwiches disappointing & overpriced. Chips were good, but bread was stale - wouldn’t go back.

Moored at the bottom of their garden. Very welcoming Manager. Great food, had, steak burger cheese and bacon, with chips and onion rings. Quality, home made, nice and hot. Make sure you are hungry, you won't be disappointed.

A great end point for a group walk visiting the Clumps. Everyone assisted to enjoy their food, and the portions were generous (apart from the vegan option, which seemed to be missing something).

I visited the plough today for a roast dinner with my family. The staff are really friendly and accommodating and the roast dinner was fantastic, they catered for our special requests no problem at all and nothing was too much trouble. Child and dog friendly too with a fantastic Garden and play area. We will all definitely be back and highly recommend.

The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The food was tasty and the service was prompt. The location is great the garden leads down to the river and there is a children's play area in part of the garden. Dogs are allowed in the garden but I don't know about the Inn.

Friendly local Pub, The Staff are welcoming, I've been visiting this pub for many years mainly for our Wednesday evening Folk Club however since the Pandemic and only since the lifting of some rules we have been allowed to have our Folk Club session in the lovely large Pub Garden on Wednesday afternoon from 2pm till 5pm, (Some folks may have a pub lunch before the session or if not in a rush can stay on for a meal afterwards) We bring our own chairs, Grab a drink from the Bar and sit in a Socially distanced circle to enjoy Singing and playing together which is wonderful to be able to do again, Always cross our fingers hoping it doesn't rain? On the whole we've been quite lucky.

A Steak Burger worth walking a mile and a half bare footed for.

Tasty food prepared with pride and imagination. Our compliments to the chef!! The goats cheese starter, the fish and the delicious brownie with fudge and ice cream were all top notch! For us, the food is the most important part but honestly the service was also outstanding!! We were waited on hand and foot and even greeted by the chef! The thatched roof and gorgeous setting along the Thames includes an outdoor seating and play area for kids. We will come again!

Staff rude, children screaming in the garden, no atmosphere, will not go back there again.

Passing through and The Plough said that they had space for two. Absolutely beautiful meal. Both had starter and main - no room for sweet. Thank you, we will be back.

2 star for food 5 star for service. Had a Sunday lunch. I think the chef like his hot light abit to much. Nothing felt fresh out the oven no crisp on potatoes or Yorkshire. One of our party had fish was very brown maybe a oil change would be good. Good selection of ales. Bad selection on largers with only 2 being fosters and Kronenberg. All in all 3 stars

Despite being born and bred a few miles away, this was my first visit to this pub. Great pub and good food. Family birthday celebrations accommodated at very last minute by Liam, having being let down by another venue. Would definitely visit again. No young children in our party, but gardens looked perfect for a pub visit with the children

Outstanding personalised service by manager, excellent location, plenty of space in the beer garden backing out on the river, and mooring for any lucky stumblers-upon by boat. 5 stars, will be back.

Ate outside under their heated pergola. I had a very good fish and chips washed down with Butcombe bitter. My wife had an enjoyable soup and Welsh rarebit. Neither ultra cheap nor outrageously expensive.

First time visit here and really impressed. Beautiful old pub with amazing back garden down to river. Nice kids play area. Eating available outside including small heated area (so book). Very friendly staff and well organised COVID controls. Food was mostly traditional with a few unusual additions (game pasta) and was excellent quality. Just a few ales on tap but all excellent and again a couple of unusual ones. We will definitely go again. Well done and thanks Plough!
