A lovely authentic restaurant that captures Thailand's traditional welcoming atmosphere. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food is 100% cooked from scratch and fresh tastes prevail. This establishment warrants more than a five star review for atmosphere and food. The food is very reasonably priced which just adds to the overall experience. 100 % recommended

Really tasty. Plenty of satisfying plant based options (despite menu seeming not offering many options. When you ask, there are lots of options). We had crispy tofu, spring rolls, Thai green curry with vegetables, paid Thai without egg and beer. All really tasty, great quality, Thai green w coconut rice and crispy fried tofu were best vegan options.

The waitress was so welcoming and friendly and gave good advice on what to choose as the menu was so varied. We opted for the set meal on her recommendation and everything was delicious. As a party of four we were the only ones eating apart from a couple who only had a main course so there was a risk that there would be no atmosphere but the waitress ensured we had a good evening with her well timed interventions and sense of humour! Highly recommend a visit. We'll certainly be back.

We have just been here. I will not go again. The entrance smells of damp and the whole place clearly has not been cleaned in a while. The carpet is sticky and there is a pile of dead insects and cobwebs in the corner of the toilet. The cutlery and crockery was dirty - maybe rinsed under a tap rather than placed in a dishwasher. Some of the food was good - the red Thai curry, stuffed chicken wings and dim sum were great but the other 3 main courses were very poor - the noodles sticky and rubbery, the sauce poorly balanced and the meat/prawns over cooked. We had driven 45 minutes for this as a special treat and we feel very disappointed.

If you’re looking for somewhere to take your family/friends for a meal this place is perfect! We had family visiting and wanted to try something a bit different. We had walked past this place a few times but always thought it was just a little takeaway - we were wrong! There is a lovely, cosy and quirky dining area and the staff sat us straight away despite us not booking. The menu had lots of and the food was absolutely delicious and very affordable. This is a perfect spot for an evening meal and the staff couldn’t be any more helpful. We will be 100% be visiting this little eatery again soon!

Tasty Thai food for a group of 5 friends in an interesting ambiance down in a cool cellar with friendly, informal service. Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday evening but that meant the food arrived rapidly. I’ve certainly tasted better Thai food and vegan choices are slightly thin but my veggie Tom Yum soup and Green Curry were very good, could have been a bit more spicy but fresh veggies and tasty. Came to £20 per head including starters, main, drinks and tip.

Went out for a dinner for 2. We were seated in a private little alcove for the two of us. We waited a while for service as the restaurant was busy. When we were served the servers were friendly and attentive. The delivery of the food took a while but once the food arrived all was forgiven. The starters were delicious and left you wanting for more, the mains were wonderful too. We didn't have dessert as we were full from the starters and mains but would highly recommend the Thai Corner. We also learned that they do take away too we will be trying that out as well. Thank you Thai Corner for a wonderful meal.

We love Thai and chose this as it was outside Oxford. It was a bit tricky to find but we were glad we did. A small restaurant but decor very authentic. We were seated with a choice of tables and offered drinks. We chose the set menu as we generally find these offer a good selection of dishes and good value. Our server was the owner and she was very friendly and chatted about our selection and that it was a good choice. Service was prompt, it not rushed. Even though they were a couple of serving staff down they coped and kept their friendly manner. Our meal was delicious, plentiful and very tasty. When we go back to the area we will go again. Tucked under the Lamb Arcade, a quite unique restaurant in the basement of this building serving good Thai food. Mixture of bigger tables or snug 2 seat tables in alcoves. Choice of food was good, as was service and price. The ceilings are generally low in places, aside from the back larger area. Only negative would be the toilets being out of paper to dry your hands when we visited, but well worth a meal.

Have been here many many times before the Thai food here is just brilliant and it’s very easy to forgive the tired decor, quirky headroom of some tables etc etc. However the past three times it has become apparent that their service standards are failing Significantly.I will only talk about this visit as have not mentioned it before because decided to ignore it as love the food.Pre booked a table and when we arrived only 4 tables out of 12 in use. Were offered Thai crackers and orders drinks. The drinks took 20 Minutes to arrive! Then we ordered the strayers and main meals, well ...... basically we had to wait an hour - yes really an hour to get our starter!!!!!She sis apologise and give us some more crackers but for how few people were in there an hour was totally unacceptable without proper explanation.Ate our meals and spoke to the server who told us that the owner was very busy doing take away meals so that’s why we did mot get our food. I asked does he prioritise on take seats over people in the restaurant and her reply was ‘of course ‘.There was no apology at a and we distinctly got the impression that people eating In were a hassle for them because they can’t easily answer the phones or deal with the take away Food. This was such a disappointment for us as we love this place / food and have eaten here loads of times but after the past three visits being so shambolic we really don’t want to book ourselves / go back in ever again.

Went here on Friday night for my husband's birthday and introduced my son to Thai food. We chose a mixed selection for starters and several different dishes and sides for main courses. All the food was well presented, very tasty and plentiful. The pad thai noodles were lovely, the prawn dish was really good and the whole meal was very nice and fresh tasting. We washed it down with Singa beers and jug of water. The restaurant is underground in wine vaults so if you are tall watch your head! The staff were very friendly and service was quick. Quite an usual restaurant as you go downstairs the first tables are in individual arched booths. We were seated at the back of the restaurant that opens out. Had an enjoyable meal which didn’t cost the earth. The 3 of us shared the combination starter for 2 which was ample with the complimentary spicy prawn crackers. My prawns were succulent and flavoursome.Mains: I had the salmon with vegetables in a Thai creamy sauce (mild), my friend had vegetables in a Thai green curry sauce (mild). We both had the Jasmine steamed rice - very aromatic. Again, we both enjoyed our food, accompanied with a bottle of Chilean Chardonnay. To finish: filter coffee and mint tea.My friend enjoyed the food so much that she intends to take her partner here!!!The service was good and the alcoves make an ideal setting for couples/friends and solo diners. I was concerned by the reviewers who described this as "claustrophobic" but the reviews which raved about the food won me over. As we crossed the road outside we could smell delicious Thai food which was a great omen for the evening. You enter the restaurant down a set of stairs and as you do you travel back in time by about 20 years (in a good way!).The decor is definitely quirky and we were rather disappointed that our group was too large to be seated at one of the lovely troglodyte tables. Our host was very welcoming and helpful, offering to adjust the spiciness of dishes if we required. The kids were delighted by the Shirley Temple cocktails, which really did need a cocktail umbrella to set them off properly. The food was delicious and the portions of a good size. We had a range of starters which came with carved carrots and spicy dips - all delicious, but particularly the light and crispy tempura veg and prawns (2 dishes). For mains we had an assortment of noodle dishes, curry and rice. The "three chilli" rating could be a little hotter but I am sure they would make it hotter on request. The bill came out at about the same price as a family takeaway plus the cost of drinks, so great value. I'd like to give it four and a half stars really. Its low cost but you get more than you pay for!The restaurant is clean and makes such a change to chain restaurants that you have to give it a try. The only drawback is the fact it is in a basement. This means you go downstairs to access it and need to go upstairs at the back to reach the wc. Not ideal for mobility impaired or those not confident on stairs.
