The best restaurants in Shepway South East

I use this place regularly and never had cause for complaint. However today all 3 pieces of chicken were dry and chewy (3 breast pieces as well, normally a mix) and the chips luke warm. At least the drink was ok. I will come back for one more try but if it is the same again I shall take my business to Subway next door.

During my lunch break I was waiting for service as staff were in the kitchen. I attracted the attention of a lady who sent another female of staff out front and who immediately started giving attitude. Her manner was extremely rude! Her name was Sadie. I would have asked to see a manager if I didn’t need to come back for a colleagues order. Baddie served me on my return who was polite. I won’t be back.

Super friendly service and the food was delicious! Highly recommended. We had the chicken strips and fries and my husband had the pulled pork roll. Really quick and staff were really helpful. We will return.

We had tacos with the loaded brisket, not much meat for the money and very wet and limp taco, the nachos were burnt Horrible after taste, extremely disappointing, sorry taco shed not for us,

Ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and blue cheese sauce. Was given a chicken burger, and burger sauce; as shown by my pictures. I have tried ringing them 20+ times, with NO answer whatsoever. If you're thinking of ordering; DON'T.

Never had to pay for milk in an Americano before!. Ordered an Americano (which was on the board for £1.90) and asked for milk. Was charged the cost of a latte because of the milk. But a latte is nearly all milk not just a dash of milk. When asked about it the reply from the manager was “we pay for milk”. I get that in a latter but not the dash of milk in an Americano. Staff ( including the manager) were unfriendly and brusque. In addition, no salad was served with the panini we ordered although the menus said all were served with salad. The panini was pre packaged and just heated up but was ok. Service not great. Wouldn’t go back.

We stopped here for a drink on the way to the harbour after a long drive. The menu options looked ok and we were initially considering getting something to eat, but the prices put us off. Sadly the drinks we ordered were disappointing too. At over £7 for a small hot tea and and pretty small warm “iced” coffee we weren’t impressed. Once I’d let the ice melt to cool the coffee down the it was ok - their saving grace was decent coffee! I’d much rather try and buy local than from a chain, but in this case I think a chain would have been better value.

Ridiculous prices for poor quality : £13.40 for an iced pumpkin spice oat espresso and an allegedly "5 cheese toastie", tasteless, not toasted enough and one of the bread sliced slided away, the bread was stale and no butter was used...

Pizza is over cooked and cold. Seriousley unimpressed considering how much it costs. I want compensation

I was very disappointed with my visit to this Burger King. Several issues greatly impacted my experience: 1. The ingredients in the sandwiches were cold, which suggests that quality standards were not upheld. 2. Timing was clearly not respected, and this was also evident with the Chicken Fries, which were dry and seemed to have been cooked far too early. 3. Lastly, I noticed that a staff member in the kitchen was wearing a wristwatch, which goes against basic hygiene rules. I expected a much higher level of service. I hope actions will be taken to address these issues.

It was the only restaurant open, so I ordered the Angus cheeseburger and fries , There was a short wait before I was given a bag with the food inside. It was less than £10 so I really wasn't expecting much. The burger was much smaller than it looked in the photo, with a few (10 or 12 )fries. The burger tasted like it may have had some smoked sauce flavour, it was like burnt cardboard. It was not even tepid, the Burger was cold, I threw it away. My very low expectations were exceeded, I have never been served such dreadful food anywhere. Buy a sandwich from the newsagents or the Starbucks next door.

The food was horrible, the small fish I ordered was vile and afterwards my stomach was not happy with the fish The people have long beards and no nets over their hair or beards so I wouldn't be surprised if you find a hair in your food It also takes a while from the moment you order to getting the food takes a good 15-20 minutes. I would never go here again and don't advise you to either. 🤮🤮

Ordered through the website for delivery. Both occasions no issues, pizza good, hot, looked nice. Order correct, good deals

So disappointed with our visit to Fish Shack yesterday!! Looking at previous reviews - albeit too late as I wouldn’t have bothered going- it seems a running theme of frozen, poorly cooked chips which in our case were only just about warm, pale fish that didn’t taste fresh inside, perhaps reheated, all for the princely sum of £27 ( with a glass of wine). I’d advise Lily and her crew to up their game and re-train the staff on both customer service to be less surly to the people who pay their wages, and also cooking ‘fresh’ fish and chips, else they’ll end up closing down. As other reviewers have said, I definitely won’t be returning!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the army cookhouse, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The food was not only delicious but also served with utmost precision.
