Good variety of dishes on offer; the starter Caprese Salad was big enough for two to share. The staff are super nice and the food always good. I chose the Sunday roast which was lamb and cleared my plate! The sea bass, halibut and liver are all recommended too.

This is one of the best NT cafes we’ve been too. Really nice atmosphere; plenty of natural light, friendly staff, clean and warm. The food was freshly prepared, scrumptious and well presented. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area.

Wonderful, cozy ambiance, good service and delicious food. Menu had a good range, meat and sauces were delicious. Even the kids' menu was different, wholesome and very popular! Some of the best food we have had in the wider area. Lovely fire and candle-lit atmosphere.

Lovely village pub. The setting was perfect for a long walk in the area. The pub, staff and rooms were exceptional. We asked for the loaded chips as a post-walk snack and it did not disappoint, it was massive and we scoffed the lot, the espresso martinis stopped from falling asleep after the loaded chips. Dinner and the English fry up for breakfast hit the spot. Will definitely go back again.

I have been eating Indian / Bangladeshi food for 62 years I am on a golf holiday with friends. As I enjoy spicy dishes I looked on Tripadvisor for recommendations of this restaurant. There were excellent reviews so decided to give it a try. When you arrive the restaurant looks a bit tired from the outside. Don't let this put you off. The greeting we received when we entered was excellent. There was a very varied and extensive menu. I know most Curries start of with the same gravy and other spices added. We started with poppadoms and chutney freshly cooked poppadoms not oily. The four dishes we ordered came .Nice size portions and all really tasty . I ordered Bombay chicken, back in the day it normally was a chicken portion on the bone with a boiled egg and potato. New style is diced chicken. Tasty all the same. I also ordered pashwari nann this was the best nann I have ever tasted. It's a pity I live so far from this restaurant otherwise I would be a regular customer. Would certainly recommend this place for polite pleasant service an excellent food

Popped in after visiting the castle. Cosy pub. The manager was very accommodating for us as the pub was busy. Great service immediately from staff. Drink order was taken straight away, and they came out very quickly. Food was fantastic. We had a range of food. A warm baguette sandwich steak burgers, fish and chips, and extras of cheesy and loaded fries. Everybody said how good the chips were. They could have passed for being triple cooked. Really good sized portions. Not cheap but not overly expensive. 100% worth the money We will definitely be going back

Excellent vintage pub, our walking football group moved to this pub around a year ago. Bar staff exceptional and atmosphere and decor of an age lost to modern pubs. We can fit around 20 of us comfortably round a table for a drink. The Ostrich is close to station and sports centre. Has on site parking and dog friendly....

We had such a nice experience at this farm shop! From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more kind or welcoming. My 2.5-year-old daughter was given her own little shopping basket and was completely enchanted by the whole place and is asking when we can go back! It's rare to find somewhere that feels so genuine and family-friendly. Highly recommend a visit :)

What lovely helpful people and great food. Being a wheelchair user, they came out to me, took my order advised me where to park which was safe, then brought my fish and chips to me. And what excellent food it was too. Very hot, crispy batter and non greasy chips and plenty of them Would certainly recommend this establishment. Thank you.

Good Malaysian takeaway and restaurant, situated inside a pub. We ordered a takeaway for collection - Crispy, chilli beef is particularly tasty! Overall, the food was fresh, fairly priced and the service was excellent. First time using this place and got lost on collection as we weren't expecting it to be located in a pub - we couldn't see a notice or sign anywhere and only found it by asking locally! Apart from that we were very happy. We'll be back!

Only open when there are sufficient staff on duty, it is a small cafe (which can get overcrowded) but there's plenty of seating outside with good views of Bodiam Castle. The staff are friendly and helpful and the coffee was up to the usual good National Trust standard.

We ate at The Royal George for my husbands birthday. There was 17 of us all together and we had a Sunday Roast. We were late in booking as we had been let down by another venue. Ruth and Leon the proprietors were fantastic in accommodating us at the last minute. The roast was splendid with a choice of 3 meats, plus a vegetarian option. Plenty of vegetables. Some of us had desserts too which were lovely, not needed but essential for a birthday. We were made very welcome and will certainly be going again.

Great local pub. Just had quite possibly the best fish and chips, and certainly the best in a pub for a long long time. Portion size was perfect (it wasn’t a whale), batter exceptional, fish delightful, chips excellent and pea puree really good. Sticky Toffee pudding to follow was pretty awesome too. A modest menu but based on what we had all done very well.
