The best restaurants in Eastney and Craneswater Portsmouth South East

Had a lovely brunch, with my family, at Melodys today. Portion sizes were very generous, and the food was delicious. So nice to see a genuine independent cafe, still run by a local person who cares for her community.

This was my 2nd visit of 2022. It did not disappoint. We had pre-booked the Christmas Afternoon Tea. WOW! A selection of seasonal hot drinks were offered as well as tea and more usual coffee selections. Next, finger sandwiches also with a seasonal Christmas theme, along with pigs in blankets and stuffing balls (served hot). Gorgeous scones with clotted cream and jam. And a lovely selection of bakes, which we had to take away as we were too full! This cafe really is a little gem. Thank goodness I don’t live near enough to come too often or I wouldn’t fit through the door. Loved it!

Got a delivery from here for two messy ranch burgers and fries. The burgers were delicious - *properly* smashed (a few places that claim to do “smash” burgers just do regular grill/pan it seems) and the skinny fries were top tier - 10/10 crispy and perfectly seasoned. If I was going to be a complete fusspot/picky I’d just say the bun could be slightly bigger, and crisp the burger a tad more. Highs recommended.

It’s Mustard is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed time out, and meeting with friends. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming ambiance. The food was delicious, one of the best Sunday roasts I've had to date. Sorry Mum!! It's clear that care and attention have gone into crafting a great customer experience. A must-visit for anyone seeking a friendly time out.

A lovely pub, with great service from friendly staff. Didn't try the food, but the they have a good range of real ales and beers, plus a few fancy gins for the wife. Win win. Didn't participate in the meat raffle, but it was enjoyed by those that did. Won't be leaving it too long before going again 🍻👍

Really enjoyed eating here. The staff are really nice and invested in your experience. We were seated in the marquee area but despite it being baltic outside we weren't cold. (There were lots of heaters and the staff offered blankets if you wanted). We brought a bottle of wine with us and glasses were provided (no corkage fee!!!) The food was really nice and the atmosphere was homely and authentic with an open kitchen. Was a very nice evening, thank you.

I am just sat at home enjoying the a cheese and carmalised onion scone from fresco, they even gave me a little pot of chilli jam - YUM. I came in for breakfast with my nan, we both had the incredible Banana Bread Porridge and were made to feel so welcome. I often come with my family, the kids menu is perfect. I am even hesitatnt to post this shining review as i dont want everyone to know how fantastic it is here.. We are so lucky to have it in Southsea. Well done team Fresco!

I had a lovely cheese and onion toastie with a glass of coke, I would highly recommend this pub and the staff were very welcoming and will be visiting again soon thankyou to all the staff and have a wonderful Christmas. 🙂Xx

Always a favourite place for breakie/lunch. They do sell Alcohol here. Lovely few of Marina and across to Milton locks.

I just waited 1h 40m for my food. I called to ask for an update and got a very unhelpful "well we're busy, so it takes time". Eventually they got the driver to call me, he had been driving up and down my street, couldn't find my place, and so he drove off. Didn't call me, didn't think to get out of his car and look at the huge numbers on every building on my road. Truly pathetic service and will not be ordering from here again. The food is good, but do yourself a favour and order from one of the many other good restaurants in Southsea with great service.

We had a very short stop in Southsea and grabbed a Gyros on our walk. Very happy that we did! The guy was really friendly. The gyros was excellent, authentic and very good value

Great place for coffee and cakes, plus a delicious brunch/lunch menu, all made to order. The overwhelming choice of cakes ensures a second, third and fourth visit. Great spot, friendly staff, warm and no rush to vacate our table, it is always a pleasure to be there
