The best restaurants in Eastney and Craneswater Portsmouth South East

Had a lovely brunch, with my family, at Melodys today. Portion sizes were very generous, and the food was delicious. So nice to see a genuine independent cafe, still run by a local person who cares for her community.

This was my 2nd visit of 2022. It did not disappoint. We had pre-booked the Christmas Afternoon Tea. WOW! A selection of seasonal hot drinks were offered as well as tea and more usual coffee selections. Next, finger sandwiches also with a seasonal Christmas theme, along with pigs in blankets and stuffing balls (served hot). Gorgeous scones with clotted cream and jam. And a lovely selection of bakes, which we had to take away as we were too full! This cafe really is a little gem. Thank goodness I don’t live near enough to come too often or I wouldn’t fit through the door. Loved it!

Got a delivery from here for two messy ranch burgers and fries. The burgers were delicious - *properly* smashed (a few places that claim to do “smash” burgers just do regular grill/pan it seems) and the skinny fries were top tier - 10/10 crispy and perfectly seasoned. If I was going to be a complete fusspot/picky I’d just say the bun could be slightly bigger, and crisp the burger a tad more. Highs recommended.

It’s Mustard is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed time out, and meeting with friends. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming ambiance. The food was delicious, one of the best Sunday roasts I've had to date. Sorry Mum!! It's clear that care and attention have gone into crafting a great customer experience. A must-visit for anyone seeking a friendly time out.

We come here several times a week. Maisey makes amazing coffee. She is always welcoming and when she sees us she has our order ready. Our grandchildren love the baby chinos too ❤️ x

I am just sat at home enjoying the a cheese and carmalised onion scone from fresco, they even gave me a little pot of chilli jam - YUM. I came in for breakfast with my nan, we both had the incredible Banana Bread Porridge and were made to feel so welcome. I often come with my family, the kids menu is perfect. I am even hesitatnt to post this shining review as i dont want everyone to know how fantastic it is here.. We are so lucky to have it in Southsea. Well done team Fresco!

Very good price and fabulous view

Had dinnner here with my dad two nights ago the both curries we ordered were not good had to send the garlic naan back as it was just covered in raw garlic paste. And I’ve been on the toilet for two days straight! Don’t go here

We had a very short stop in Southsea and grabbed a Gyros on our walk. Very happy that we did! The guy was really friendly. The gyros was excellent, authentic and very good value

Been here twice within a couple of weeks cos the first visit was so good. We had the ultimate toastie (mac and cheese toastie) and the loaded fries- both amazing! Great selection of cakes. The brownie cheesecake was delicious and the carrot cake was the best we’ve had in ages. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly (under cover outside), polite staff. Oh and free parking for 3 hours outside was a bonus!
