I am just sat at home enjoying the a cheese and carmalised onion scone from fresco, they even gave me a little pot of chilli jam - YUM. I came in for breakfast with my nan, we both had the incredible Banana Bread Porridge and were made to feel so welcome. I often come with my family, the kids menu is perfect. I am even hesitatnt to post this shining review as i dont want everyone to know how fantastic it is here.. We are so lucky to have it in Southsea. Well done team Fresco!

Went in there for the first time with my Wife for Lunch, great experience, charming staff, excellent food. The place had a very pleasant ambience, the decor and fittings were very good. It was also noted how clean everything was. Will certainly be going back soon.

Great coffee and a simply fabulous cake. Really amazing service - as you can tell I liked this place, a welcome rest-bite from the British rain wind and August cold! Really good that they catered for gluten free AND vegans - most places only manage one of the other at best! Well worth a visit for coffee cakes or more.

An unplanned stop for lunch, was very impressed, particularly on how lovely the staff were. I was on my own and they made me feel very welcome and comfortable, food was very tasty and I loved the Pottery tea pots and cups just up my street 😋

This small but perfectly formed cafe is a real stand out along Southsea beach. The choice of refreshments is limited, but what they do is done exceptionally well. The cafe is also spotlessly clean, understandably busy and the staff are super friendly. Great little place.

The cafe is located behind the natural history museum and in the same areas as the lake, the model village. We sat outside overlooking the tennis courts. Fresh food with a variety of sandwiches, salads and d soups.

Eaten here twice. Lovely quality food, especially recommend the weekday soup and baguette. The bread is lovely. Great selection of pastries and cakes and the only cafe I know to do a larger-sized flat white coffee. Very cosy and attractive environment and the outside tables look nice for the summer.

Went on a Sunday morning and loved it! This is definitely a hidden gem which I don’t think many people know about in Southsea. We had breakfast and the food was delicious with high quality ingredients. We also appreciated how balanced the portions were, so you feel satisfied but don’t feel bloated. Sitting outside was great. You have a view of the tennis courts and all the nature around Canoe Lake. Just a great way to start a Sunday morning before a pleasant walk by the sea. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Came here with my wife and 3 year old son. Superb food, brilliant service and ideal for those with younger kids. Decor is warm and fresh and the food is a level up from most other places around this area. Glad I found this Cafe and we’ll be back again and again.

One of my Mum and my local favourites! It’s especially interesting to go and sit on the veranda and watch the tennis. I usually go for the waffles with maple syrup and bacon and always with an oat flat white. The food and drink are always delicious and the service is always friendly and efficient. While dog sitting, I was able to take the dog there too as it is very dog friendly. Located just moments from Canoe Lake and the seafront at Southsea. Highly recommend!

The best (enormous) mince pies ever! Worth a festive visit or takeaway for heating up at home. What a lovely warming place on a frosty morning.

One of my favourite cafés in Southsea, which I've visited regularly over the past few years since it opened. The food is great, all prepared in the kitchen by a team who obviously care a lot about its quality. Cakes and snacks are lovely and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. We quite often sit here for a few hours enjoying the coffee and atmosphere! The view of the tennis courts is a fun bonus.

We have visited here a couple of times over the last couple of months and both times it’s been great. Each time we’ve sat on the veranda for a nice outside view of the tennis. The first time I had the maple syrup and bacon waffles with a flat white which was delicious and yesterday we both had the ham and cheese baguettes, which came with ready salted crisps, and to drink had a lovely iced coffee. Both times the service has been great; will definitely return and certainly recommend.

Unfortunately the management let’s this place down. Ill informed and rather rude. The manager I spoke with today regarding various issues with our visit seems to carry a very large chip on her shoulder… Perhaps down to inexperience although it won’t be a place we will visit again due to this. That said, the coffee was good quality and the other waitresses who served us were very sweet.

Second oldest pub in Portsmouth and it is the highlight of the place. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The room is small with wonky electricity and plumbing, but I guess one must expect that in a 300 year old building. The wifi works well. Staff are businesslike. I wouldnt stay here again, but I'm glad I had the experience.

Never been met by people in a small business so annoyed to receive custom, tutted and huffed as I entered the shop, yes it was 14:45 and the shop closed at 15:00 but that’s no excuse. I ordered 2 rolls, once the filling was in the roll I stated which salad I would like in each and was told there was no salad left?? No discount offered and to make matters worse when opening the rolls outside the shop the fillings were incorrect. Another customer entered the shop behind me the staff members both rolled their eyes and gave him a dirty look, if you don’t want to be selling products until you close maybe worth advising a cut off time for rolls and food to be made. The filling in the rolls was a good portion and tasted good but wasn’t what I ordered. I won’t be returning
