Really tasty food and friendly service. Really accommodating for our little one. I will be coming back again!

Although the menu is not huge, what they do, they do very well! The four of us had never been there before, so a new and very happy experience. We dined on two different sharing cheese boards and coffee and beer. The food was exceptional as was the service. Lovely friendly staff.

Lovely food, fresh ingredients. Lovely service. Price was very fair. Felt slightly uncomfortable as they were hoovering around us getting ready for a party. Will go back. Xx

Have been before for coffee, but tried the cheese board today. Dearer than some places, but decent cheeses, with olives, chutney, grapes and onions, which balanced things out. Olives were pitted, too, which is a bonus if one's teeth are a bit delicate!

Really good service and excellent food. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Six Highland Road.

Didn’t know anything about this place but I’ve been for both a midweek breakfast and open mic night, two completely different experiences in one venue. It’s got a great atmosphere, the food was amazing, drinks are delicious with a great selection of teas during the day and a fab cocktail menu in the evening. Lovely staff and the added bonus of being able to take the dog during the day. Looking forward to some of the upcoming events, it’s definitely my go to place now. Highly recommend 👍🏼

I hadn't heard of this place but I will recommend to everyone now! The service was amazing, super kind and attentive staff who even offered a free milkshake for the little one. The food is delicious and so reasonably priced, especially compared to other nearby businesses. Great atmosphere, delicious coffee and a fab range of food and snacks.

Such a lovely place, the staff were so friendly and kind. My little boy was upset and they made him a special Milkshake... how thoughtful and special. Loved the food recommend the pancake stacks, lovely calm atmosphere for a coffee place. we will be back again. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality ❤❤

Nice cafe on Highland road good food and quality drinks

Lovely little cafe with friendly staff and a homely yet sophisticated feel. Really recommend this as a coffee spot, but also as a venue for events: extremely supportive of local business.

A friend texted me today (15th January aka "Blue Monday") and said let's get a free coffee and go for a walk, which is exactly what we did. The staff chatted with us as we got our drinks to takeaway even though they were really busy (people like free coffee), and the place was warm & inviting. There were a couple of spaces to sit available which we briefly considered taking before opting to stick with our plan for a walk around nearby Canoe Lake. The coffee was good, so I'll definitely be making a return visit the next time I'm passing there.

This is our favourite place in Portsmouth! Always happy friendly staff, cosy and comfortable, dog friendly, and THE best cocktails to be found 😄 It's our go-to place every time, and we're looking forward to lots more visits in 2024 ❤️

I'm really impressed with this superb, intimate and welcoming establishment. The place is clean and cheerful, the service friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the fare is top notch and good value. No complaints here, will definitely be revisiting very soon. It's my all time favourite place,the people and staff are very warm and friendly, being an artist I meet similar people,poets and other creatives.the place is very dog friendly and my own dog gets free bacon! The decor and atmosphere are amazing, there's quiz nights and other great events. The food is fantastic. More than recommend this place.

Lovely decor and atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, absolutely love the coffee! I've been in for a quick coffee, to an evening private function and to an evening event here, all were very enjoyable! Definitely recommend this lovely café, why not try it next time you're in the Albert Road area, you've dropped kids off to school, or are on your way to Canoe Lake/Beach? Or you can hire it for your private party 🥳 They seem to offer something for everyone, and nothing is too much trouble. Give them a follow to see upcoming events and offers 😊

Great tasting food - efficient service - amazing hot chocolate it ranks as my personal favourite. The venu is clean and tidy with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

One of my favourite places to grab a coffee and an eggs Benedict.. I am HUGELY fussy as I’ve worked in the trade for 25 years.. only place I’ve eaten in locally that can perfectly poach an egg 😍

The most incredible cafe, the most welcoming staff and owners. Delicious breakfast and made my iced coffee perfectly. Went to a psychic night they hosted and was incredible, great atmosphere and always enjoy going. Great small business, I couldn’t recommend enough!!!

6 Highland Road have opened early twice now for our group to come early doors on a Sunday. They’re baby, dog and toddler friendly and serve tasty food with an incredibly warm welcome. Such good service- cannot recommend highly enough!

The environment was top tier, all the staff were so welcoming and the drinks were amazing, especially the latte - would definitely recommend :)

They have lovely decaf coffee and some tasty muffins to compliment them! Which makes them great for a takeout, and they're also excellent for dining in too.

Lovely intimate cafe with great food and service. Every table was full but the staff were attentive and kept food and drinks flowing with very little delay. Very impressed.

This is such a pretty cafe but the service is like Fawlty Towers! I have had two nice experiences in the last year but too often they close the kitchen at lunchtime, cannot use a bottle opener, cannot make a cocktail (my vodka martini consisted of brine and olives!), overcharge, spill drinks, have no evening food...it's such a shame. The pub and restaurant over the road are heaving at night and I wish they'd take the opportunity to up their game and compete with them.

Food great ..staff need to wait for you to leave before jumping on table to clear...refurbished recently but the door to get in is in need of some attention... dog friendly.

Rosie went out of her way from start to finish. I booked a special afternoon tea here for my bridal reveal party and she couldn’t have been more accommodating in making it perfect for me with my requests. Service and food and drinks all faultless and will definitely return. Thank you x

Yum! Great environment with very generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. The sandwich was massive and the Babychino’s are nice and affordable. Very child and dog friendly! Would defiantly come again!

English breakfast was a mixture of good and bad, excellent poached eggs, tasty bacon, hot baked beans but hash browns were inedible and sausages not much better either so I was underwhelmed. Nice cafe with a good selection of wares

Fabulous eggs benedict with a decaffeinated tea. My partner had full english with a latte and was suitably impressed with the produce and coffee. Definitely be visting again, great find.

Six Highland Road were happy to close for the afternoon for a private birthday party. Ideal for 30 people my guests all had space to mingle and enough cake and coffee to keep them happy. The quality of food/drink is excellent and the venue has a lovely vibe. But most of all they went out of their way to make me feel special, and that goes a long long way.

Always a warm welcome for my little language speakers groups at this venue mid Saturday afternoons. Rosie, Nas and the team are great at what they do.

Tasty breakfast, quick and friendly service. Cool, relaxing spot for an evening drink too. Never too packed…I don’t know why

Lovely welcoming café/bar. Nice modern décor. Good for wines/spirits, couple of bottled beers but no bitter/stout type. Can’t speak for the food but it certainly looks attractive on the live menu screens.

Just enjoyed a tasty breakfast, smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs. Cooked perfectly and washed down with a really generous sized pot of tea. What really sets this place above the rest (apart from the food!) is the lovely atmosphere, it's cosy and inviting and the staff are friendly without being over the top. I will definitely go back to try some of the other things on the menu - they even open evenings and do cocktails and have a good choice of wines - can't wait to go back and try them out.

Dont use this cafe, I would rate zero. My 9year old daughter was served crushed Hazelnut shell on pancakes. This could have resulted in serious harm or injury, I tried her food and found this and had nut shell stuck in my throat the rest of the day. No manager present. Girl serving told me she did not know how to prepare the dish so crushed the hazelnuts and sprinkled them all over the plate. This was not just one small piece. Staff not trained... Very very bad

A Hugely successful find - I have been once before when this was known as T & Thistle, both myself and my partner were searching around southsea for a ppace for lunch without going to our usual haunts. All I can say is, this is going to become our usual haunt. Excellent surroundings and decoration, with polite and attentive staff. Great food also, with probably one of the best Lattes I'VE tasted (Im no seasoned coffee drinker) Would throughly recommend. I had a Hummus, Falafel and Beetroot Bagel and my partner had a Sausage amd Bacon with Ketchup Bagel! Well Done Six Highland Road!

Really lovely place - very friendly, especially to dogs and the staff were a delight. The food is good - I had eggs Benedict and the atmosphere is really pleasant. It’s light and airy inside or you can sit out the front and watch the world go by! Would definitely go again.

Lovely place for a quiet coffee time. If I had had a longer time I would have definitely had a bit of cake or something. Very friendly staff, very welcoming, happy faces and excellent service. 😊

Came for breakfast this morning with my husband and daughter for the first time after a recommendation from a friend. Absolutely superb. Had various items from the breakfast menu and everything was delicious - particularly the tea! Great service, lovely atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend 👍🏻

Have held a party for my mum's 91st birthday today for 27 of us. Absolutely superb from communication with Dan to the food and service by Jen, Hayley and team. Could not fault it. Plenty of food and nothing too much trouble cannot recommend highly enough. Thankyou all from start to finish

Little hidden gem, this one. We had one of the sharing platters and a couple of cups of tea. They made our dog feel very welcome. We sat outside watching the world go by.

My local coffee shop, the staff are always lovely and the food and drinks are fantastic every time!! Highly recommended the poached eggs on sourdough toast. Excellent and warm atmosphere, especially in the Christmas season

Too crowded for the current Covid restrictions. Tables so close together I couldn't pull the chair out. Queuing at counter has resumed. Not a pleasant experience. Emailed them twice but no response. Will not be returning. Such a shame as I've visited regularly since it opened and really like supporting independent local businesses.

Popped in for some tea and cake yesterday, lovely cozy place, friendly service! With winter around the corner I think I have found my tea spot, love the ambience, music was good. They have a lovely collection of Teas, wish that had more cake options and stayed open until 5pm.

Excellent coffee. Delicious Eggs Benedict, elegantly presented, with tasty hollandaise sauce, bacon and just the right amount of ground black pepper. Friendly, helpful service. Will be back!
