Funny little local-brewery pub. Converted shop. Sometimes they don't even have their own main beer on. Staff are lovely and it feels like a local. But the building is narrow, as are the stairs to the upper floor. Always worry about tripping on the way as well as down. Highly recommended

Lovely taproom with a good variety of beer. It had a nice atmosphere and is popular with the locals. Plenty more room upstairs if downstairs is busy.

Good place for a nice pint of Real Beer 🍻😁 Good selection of beers, they also serve wines and spirits. Happy and friendly staff. Clean and tidy Ares up and down stairs. Looks small when you look in through the door but there is more seating upstairs. Only had one for our first visit but will be going back for more. There is wheelchair access but you will be restricted to down stairs - I think. On road parking in the local area.

Quite simply the best bar in Portsmouth. Great range of keg and cask beers and. Huge selection of fridge beers to suit all tastes. Friendly staff and locals. A must if in the area.

Good selection of ales but almost exclusively IPAs and blondes. Contemporary 'industrial' interior.

Seriously, you must try this "Tap". Great atmosphere, excellent service, full of friendly faces, well behaved dogs & super for children. Board games, Lego & a spacious upstairs lounge with large tables to play games on.

We had a lovely time friendly staff good atmosphere child friendly nice beer and wine and our cocker spaniels had a lovely time we would highly recommend it and complimentary cheese board yummy xx

Great local place for a drink with a good selection of beers. It feels cosy but there's plenty of seating both up and downstairs. Great bar snacks!- the peanut butter pretzels and BBQ peanuts are a favourite. Dogs are welcome and the staff are attentive and friendly.

Good range of interesting beers including those from Southsea Brewery. Limited opening hours but well worth making the effort to get there.

Just popped in for a couple of drinks (no food). Lovely staff and a very friendly bar. As you would expect, an amazing selection of beer and a couple of wines. As always with me, it was dog friendly. The staff were great and brought some treats out for Coco so she was a happy cocker!

Nice little craft beer house. Quite rustic downstairs. Dining area upstairs I believe, though I didn't view it. Staff were friendly. I liked this place, wish there was something like this in my own town.

A fifteen minutes walk from Fratton Park. Worth the walk. Nice micropub with two floors. I had a quiet pre-match pint of local ale; Fallen Acorn Ruby Red. £4.50. Nice pint. A pity I didn't have time to try some other ales on offer. You can bring in your food. The fish and chip shop across the road seems a popular choice.

A brilliant host to local (and not so local) craft beer. Staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable - happy to let you taste beers on tap and chat. Seating is basic but it creates a very laid back environment for you to bring your own food, chat with friends and relax with a good beer.

Great local place for a decent beer

Fabulous tap room with a great selection of beers. On tap and available from the well stocked fridge. I've visited a few times now. Took my step son down on Sunday evening 21 Aug, when he arrived. He loved it too. We had a selection including the espresso martini and lights out, a dark ipa both lovely. Great to see you can bring your own food in to eat, at any time, whilst enjoying the atmosphere. Nuts and crisps are available from the bar if you need a light snack.

Absolutely cracking offering of beer and knowledgeable staff. You can even bring your own food in on a Tuesday (I think).

Lovely intimate bar. Beer is as fresh as a daisy with well balanced recipes...although still big bias towards American. Sensible pricing. Kitted out to high standard. Maybe a bit small for some!

Very good beer, very good bar food & bar snacks but the pricing is pretentious at best. And yesterday was the first time I have ever been in a pub that called time at 2027hrs.

The best taphouse in Hampshire, I strongly recommend coming here and enjoying the fantastic selection of beer available

Tap room for Southsea Brewery with frequently changing range of both its own and other Brewers beers on tap, plus a craft cider and load of cans and bottles. Also stocks delicious natural wines and rins as a coffee shop during the day. Friendly and knowledable staff.

Southsea brewing co may be small but they make very good beer. The taproom is very friendly and the homemade cakes esp the rocky roads are amazing.

One of the best bars in Portsmouth

Spending the day in Southsea. Walked out to this place as the reviews were so good. It’s quite a way! Arrived at 1-45pm to find that it was CLOSED! 😡 Not happy at all. Why don’t these places post opening time updates on their Google accounts? Not sure how bars plan to succeed when their customers are so low in their priority list.

Nice tap with seating inside and out. Covid safety on place and well managed. Friendly staff and good choice of beers on tap and in bottles and cans. Would definitely return if I come back to the area. Prices were reasonable too, highly recommend

Went hear for a few beers with my mates.Nice freindly atmosphere great surlection of ales this is the main reason we went.Must have driven past many of times but didn't know it was there.Nice to support a local brewery at these times.

A good range of their own beers plus several guest beers on cask & keg, cider & gin are also available. A well stocked beer fridge has cans and bottles for drinking on the premises or for taking away.

Fantastic beer and friendly staff, I recommend you try the double IPA from Southsea brewing company brewed at the nearby Southsea castle where Henry the 8th had his 6 wives!

Great little tap room with an excellent selection of ales. Can be noisy so could do with some acoustic panelling to make conversation easier, but quality of beer excellent as were the staff.
