This is my new favourite Indian restaurant in Portsmouth, the food was amazing and great service. It's a bit off the beaten track, but it's definitely worth the cost of a taxi.

Our favourite Indian restaurant, beautiful setting, the service and food is always fantastic. Table settings and glassware always immaculate. Always recommend to anyone looking for a good Indian restaurant and have brought many family members here for special occasions as it never disappoints.

Outstanding food and service we order 3 times a week now I'm so happy to have found a beautiful restaurant thank you. Highly recommend 👌 5 star!!! Look forward to eating in soon x

Excellence at Par. Been long planned but never had time. Finally one lazy evening on a Sunny Day we chose to cut loose. And nothing can come to close the Dusk lights washing on the glasses and faces of crowd chilling outside and families munching inside. Great ambiance and scenic outside. Taste more than Indian cuisine! They have blended the culture into one. So amazing. The Naan stood apart. Felt like duvet filled with soft most cotton !! Worth a try everytime u visit ! Hate off to the Hosting team and servers! Congratulations to the Chef and Team in the Kitchen ! Keep it up !! We will be back always !!

We went here for an afternoon meal. It was absolutely amazing! Service and food. Best Indian in Portsmouth in my opinion. The Korma (with added spice) is my go to! So fresh!

I've always enjoyed The Bombay Bay, staff always polite and prompt with their service. Plus it's nice to eat of hot plates and decent crockery and cutlery. Just recently took my mum and dad for their birthday and it was lovely.

Had a large group and the service was well organised and everyone enjoyed themselves

Great place for a good curry. A good selection on the menu to suit all tastes. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was nice and cold. Establishment was clean and tidy. Plenty of free parking. Great views if you can get the window table.

Sorry but dreadful food as a Asian mixed raced person I know the type of Bengal restaurant Nan caked in heavy butter Curry greasy too much oil Value for money absolutely not Everything was just rubbish from start to finish This is perhaps the worst Bengali restaurant I've visited in the last 25 years in Portsmouth Staff was friendly But food dreadful As locals your cholesterol level must be very high with the oil that is being used Sadly I will never come back again Food quality needs to be overlooked for health conditions for sure Was it worth my hard £40.55 I don't think so

We decided to order a takeaway from here as our usual place has gone down hill. We were not disappointed, naan bread very flavourful and the korma as to die for. Rice could do with some colour and a bit more flavour but overall we were very happy

Beware of Health Risks: Disappointing Experience. Date of Visit: 26/04/2024 Yesterday evening, my family and I visited this restaurant for dinner, hoping to enjoy a delightful dining experience. However, what followed was a night of disappointment and distress. Firstly, the restaurant's claim of serving Indian cuisine did not align with the South Asian dishes presented to us. While we appreciate diverse culinary influences, it's essential for establishments to accurately represent their offerings. Despite the fine dining ambiance, the portion sizes were disproportionately small compared to the hefty price tags. While we understood the nature of fine dining, the lack of value for money was evident. Regrettably, our disappointment didn't end there. Shortly after returning home around 11 PM, all five of us, including our 4-year-old child, experienced severe vomiting and diarrhea. Concerned for our health, we are currently en route to the hospital with our toddler. This alarming turn of events raises serious concerns about the hygiene standards and food quality. I urge potential diners to exercise caution before considering a visit, as our experience highlights potential health risks. In conclusion, our visit to the restaurant was marred by false advertising, underwhelming portions, and most importantly, health complications. It is my hope that the management addresses these issues promptly to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Delivery. Rogan Josh and Chicken Goan swimming in Oil. Hardly any meat. 2x Bajees under cooked .dreadful.Thirt id try as had good reports at weekend. Definitely rubbish on a Wednesday 😕just had some. So awful im throwing it away. Want a refund

The location is beautiful and the food was good but the atmosphere and decor drastically let it down. We arrived at 8.30pm and staff were taking apart a machine in the restaurant. There was very little interaction between the staff and customers and they were not very tentative. In such a stunning location I expected more and was sadly disappointed.

Real shame, eaten here before and always been amazing. Food was good but waiter was incredibly rude. He litterally slammed menus down and told us "quick" whilst ordering after being seated for under 5 mins, we politely ate paid and left but wont be returning or recomending again. Never felt more unwelcome or rushed anywhere before.

Food is always quality and obviously freshly made . Can't fault this restaurant for take away and sit in meals. Highly recommend !

Very quiet inside On the 16th November about 14.30, I went in with a friend, stood near to the till bar area hoping for coffee and cake, but found ignored by staff, women she glanced at us and walked off doing something else and a young guy smiled started staking glasses, behind the bar, we walked out bemused and bewildered. 🙄 ?

Luke warm food, very greasy, Naan bread very over cooked. Will never order again from here.

We enjoyed our meal here, lovely and tasty. Staff were very nice, the only downside was it was a bit chilly where we sat, which was near the doors.

Didn’t seem as good quality as normal. Ordered a cheese and garlic stuffed naan and the garlic was literally just squeezed out of a tube! Couldn’t eat it! The chips were the nicest thing :(

Very tasty currys. Authentic taste. Only 1 thing which let's the delivery Down is the onion bahjis. They put them in a polystyrene box which causes them to sweat and become soggy. Crying out for them to be im paper bags ! Onion bahjis need to be crispy always.

Dreadful food - avoid. This place must have changed hands - very poor.

(1) When customer go to a restaurant, they do not just pay for the food, they also pay for the service.If the service is rubbish, then the restaurant is also rubbish. One of the waiter was extremely rude. (2) It was not clear why they advertise it as an Indian restaurant, bec the food surely tasted like some south Asian cuisine, but not Indian really. (3) Despite making a booking in advance, we were not provided a table on the floor with the see-side view.

Pretty disgusted at our experience of bein there last late table in , on a week day....Maybe they should of said no more tables on the phone rather than let us pay £65 for other people left over food and chutneys...manky old onion chutney with nowt else in it..half frozen mint sauce.....4 bits of meat in my curry & when we asked why...got smirked at like we made it up ..with a reply should of been 5...you couldn't even see the 4 bits they were so small...the whole experience was disgusting...they just wanted there extra £65 ! And serve peopels left over food ...been using them for last 10 years... NEVER again..rude amd agnornet...we paid left and left pretty upset with it all....👎👎👎👎

Overall wasn't great. The lamb Rogan was aight, but the chicken dishes were rank and went uneaten. Delivery driver was cheery and on time though!

Our 15 visit last night and it was just awful. We had to wait 20 minutes before being ask if we would like a drinks. Food was great when we got it. We then had to wait 35 minutes for the bill. It was not busy. When paying other family were also complaining and been over charged by a lot of money. We will not be rushing to go back.

Had a lovely meal whilst staying in the marina. Couldn’t fault the food, but the service wasn’t that good, check your bill afterward as they added more food and drinks then what we actually had, they must have thought we had too many drinks to bother checking , how wrong. Very disappointed

Great food but delivery is too high

Fabulous out of the way gem. Well worth seeking out. Have been several times and never been disappointed. Food is excellent and the staff are very attentive, helpful and friendly.

Been there quite a few times now, always a nice visit, food is always real good and the views out on to the dock yard makes it worth the trip, also there’s parking so that’s a bonus.

Food was not very good and was bland and tasteless. Very disappointing. Seems to made up from left overs .

Everything was wonderful, my only difficulty was that it was noisy where we were placed. Next time, I will ensure that we ask for a table by the windows.

Great venue whether you sit in or on their balcony overlooking the marina. The wine glasses are deceiving as you think you're drinking less (haha!), I need one 🙂. Poppadoms always fresh and lovely condiments. Good bhajis and peshwari naan. Tikka kormas usually very good, although there was an occasion I ordered a takeaway and although I marked the curry to be medium (they let you choose), it was mild. We have lovely family memories here.

We've eaten at this restaurant for years and never been disappointed, but went saturday night as we haven't been there since the lockdown and was very disappointed as the standard of food and presentation was nothing like it use to be. We won't be going back.

Great tasting Indian food at a restaurant located at the Southsea Marina. Absolutely no issues for us but it is located one first floor so you need to be able to use stairs.

Been a long while since eating here,only 3 tables had customers as early in the evening. 3 staff working front of house... Not a warm welcome.... Service was shockingly poor, no smiles, slow & non attentive, drinks just dumped on table and waiter just walked off, staff looked like they didn't want us ...food was ok, but a bit bland, and once again for a empty restaurant, took ages to even get a starter, and to get a 2nd drink was ages before we could even get a water to our table to order . Generally felt staff seemed more interested in sorting out take away orders. So disappointing, and such potential. When so many good/ high standard restaurants in the city, can't imagine why people would return. never again....So spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Was my previous experience. I've just tried to order a curry to be delivered. Their flyer says orders over £15 and £3 delivery. I spent £21 plus delivery so would have been £24. They refused to deliver. You just lost a very good customer 😒

Tandoori sea bass was just very plain sea bass. No spice or colour to it at all so I don’t know how it could be tandoori. Asked in the notes for the curry dish to be spicy, no spice was added at all. Popadoms were bendy as they got steamed and wet inside the plastic bag. Really disappointed as we had a great meal in the restaurant before. Wouldn’t order a delivery again.

Had vegan dishes. Would be nice with a curry that was vegan, made with alt meat/fish...but what I had: salad, mushroom and japati were delicious and fresh .Thank you

Best Indian around, fantastic food and very knowledgeable and friendly staff, with a nice view over all the boats in the harbour, couldn't ask for any more!
