Greek Cuisine Tony in Portsmouth

We had a Mamma Mia party of ten people in the perfectly decorated and themed dining room of Greek Cuisine Tony’s place on South Parade Pier. It was a charming and very enjoyable event with plentiful food and great service. Anyone who has a thing for the Mamma Mia Movie will love the decor and if you just wanted a delicious bite of Greek food, I’d recommend highly.

A few days ago, while walking on south parade pier, i decided i fancyed a cup of tea & a portion of cheesey 🧀 chips 🍟. I have in the past, (a Few years ago i brought Some really tasty & well priced wraps from this Greek Cuisine, on south parade pier, when i very happy gentlemen & His young wife, ran it, i remember the food & drinks were very reasonable then, also the food was fresh and tasty. Lets also say the young Man & His Wife were extremely Happy 😊 & very Friendly people, also the prices were excellent ). Now unfortunately in contrast, sadly to say, i haven't seen the Young Gentleman & His Wife, but a few days ago i paid £4 for quite possiblely "The Worst Tea, on planet 🌏 earth, or lets say, the worst tasting tea 🍵 i have ever brought" so its more than "pretty bad" the tea bags must have been in a draw that was left open to the eliminates, for months, hardly any colour, taste or smell, pretty much bad all round. Now the owner, "Mr Grumpy 😡" or who ever he is, needs to take a class in "Good Customer Service" or "Life Skills" as when i asked a simple question, about if he made cheesey chips 🍟, i had to ask him 8 times, as all i got each time was a grunt, thats certainly not a way to treat people, let alone paying customers, So my advice is to stay well away from Mr Grumpy 😡 @ "Greek Cuisine Tony" on South Parade Pier, in Southsea. Dont waste your money, Time or taste buds, as there are many other great restaurants on South Parade Pier in Southsea. Portsmouth. Hampshire. Thank you for reading this review.

We ordered two gyros chicken box, paid £30+ and was given food from yesterday service. Chicken and french fries felt it was from yesterday and not recently made (it was like when you make fry chicken / french fries, leave it in the fridge for 1 or 2 days and then service it). I had stomach pain during the nigh because of this food. This is a big disappointment given how pricey is the food.

Greek Cuisine Tony on Southsea Pier is a must-try! Authentic Greek dishes, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Their soutzoukakia with sausage & philly cheese is amazing, and any mix box is a great deal. My kid loved their margarita pizza too! Inside seating is available, but the outside views are unbeatable on a good day. Efcharistó!

I had the halloumi wrap. It was served in a very nice pita, not the thin dry ones from the supermarket you sometimes get. It was tasty and I left satisfied.

Lots of potential but the gyro wraps have barely any tzatziki…if they were a little more generous it would be a 5 from me. Additionally I ordered the Bougatsa as it was amazing the first time I had it. This time round I was sent the wrong item and instead received a cheese savoury pastry thing which was gross…how disappointing.

I’ve had the gyros from here before and it was nice. The souvlaki wasn’t the best - looked and tasted a bit overly processed, I’ve had much better elsewhere. The savoury pastries were very nice. I wish I knew that they automatically put some sort of sweet pink sauce on the salad so I could have asked them not to - it ruined the side salad for me and would have taken far too long to send it back.

Delicious gyros packed full of meat and salad , beautiful flavours and not expensive. Going back tomorrow for another one !

Good authentic Gyros, not cheap (£16 for mixed gyros box + £2 coke) but good quality. The tsatsiki had so much garlic in it, overpowered the meal and I stank of garlic all night lol.. I would eat there again as the food was good, easy on the garlic though please

Food was delicious, staff were friendly. They served great chicken gyros with lovely Fredoo espresso that reminded me my old memory from Athena!

Was looking forward to trying this place but was very disappointed. The pork souvaki went straight on the grill from frozen, was very little meat. Mainly just bread and chips.

I don’t recommend, i paid 15£ for 10 chips and some salad and little bit halloumi cheese, be very careful i had les than 10 chips counted…… plus the service and the hygiene

I always go back to Tony’s because the food is great! We ordered through justeat and had major issues with the delivery so he decided to deliver himself which I was really thankful for! I’ll happily go back

Poor hygiene, staff preparing food after touching his face without washing hands. When I asked, he got aggressive and rude. Took my money but didn’t even offer cutlery!!!! They have charged £15 for half box of cold Gyros, handful of meat and rest filled with oil and salad Would definitely not recommend!

We had such a lovely time tonight here and the food we had was amazing! Best souvlaki in town coming from a local! Definitely give it a try, and George the guy that served us was so friendly and polite! Highly recommended!

The only downside is that the place is too small, they should open a restaurant as their food is is the best greek food I have ever tasted in the Uk! I got the grilled sausage gyros, and my boyfriend got the chicken one. Fragrant pitta bread, juicy sausage and delicious tzatziki sauce, even the herbs were lovely and intense! Fiorello (I think he's the owner's nephew) was so friendly and kind to answer all our questions (and so you know, the ingredients come directly from Greece, hence they are fresh and authentic, and very good) we also had a baklava and a melomakarona for dessert: amazing! It's already my favourite restaurant in Portsmouth 😍 oh yes, also the view was stunning, but I was too busy savouring the gyros!

I have just been violently sick after feeling horribly ill and nauseous all evening - the last thing I ate was a chicken gyros and the dessert pastry from this place. I still feel awful so looks like it’s going to be a long, uncomfortable night. Thanks for ruining my weekend and I have to do night feeds for my son. Just great.

A meal with a view, I frequently have as my go to meal when along the seafront. Food is always lovely, service is excellent and it's truly in a perfect location. Get yourself a Gyro and enjoy it on the pier overlooking the sea on a nice sunny day.

Thinking that greek food is my favourite food i stopped to try some greek food in this place. Excellent food, reasonable prices and friendly service. I recommend to everyone that visit this area.

Don't think of ordering pizza here. I waited over half an hour to get pizza exactly the same as frozen ones from the supermarket. Co-op is very close and I think they buy there for £2-3 and sell for £10!

When you hear Greek being spoken, you know the food will be authentic. If the sun shines, you are spirited away to the Mediterranean. Love it.

I got Chicken Gyros Wrap for lunch and it was super tasty! The wrap was toasted until it was slightly crispy and the chicken was very flavourful. Recommended!

Cooked fresh to order, very tasty food from a tiny kiosk! We had the Souvlaki box for just over a tenner - 3 skewers + lots of bread + chips + salad + awesome tzatziki. And the salad dressing I could drink by the bucket - a bit like Wimpy burger sauce 😁 In fact a bit too much food for me so became both lunch and dinner, but no complaints there and hubby hoovered up his portion. Definitely coming here again next time I'm in Southsea

Just got back from Santorini and tastes exactly like it did out there.

Turned up at 8:40pm. (Open till 10pm) he said no gyros left. He was having his dinner while talk to me like I was his mate...🤷‍♂️ I was the costumer. And than he walked off and brought back some dried out pork wrapped in tinfoil,saying that's only what he got and I can have that. 🤣 That was my first and definitely the last visit of this lovely place.

Best greek place in Portsmouth.

Not very cheap and are not able to do some french fries .... The fries where swiming in oil....never ever again to come back I think the fries where old and fried again for a small amount of time ..I will attach photo And when I told her she spoke with me like I don't know fries are made in oil .( Like I am stupid )

Ordered a gyros box not realising how ridiculously priced it was, nearly £28 for two, on receiving it, we both thought it wasn't value for money, it should be gutt busting for this price, not sure why they need to charge so much for this, won't be returning!

Selling expired baklava and they are proud of it. There is no expire date on the baklava box. Is it any reason for this?

I have complained about the quality of the baklava and the person serving started to quarrel with me, instead of acknowledging. The baklava didn’t seem to be fresh. Very bad attitude from the members of staff, the lady said while talking to me ‘Whatever’. Very, very bad attitude! Rude!

Appaling service, got called a liar on Fathers Day by the young lad. I'll never eat here again. it starts to rain so i come in with my 3 year old and 11 year old and order food for myself. He tells me my children can't sit at the empty tables because they have gyros from somewhere that is not his. Then calls me a liar for saying it's from the place outside that is his. how am i supposed to know there is another gyros seller outside. Then he refused to refund me. Disgrace, I've been a customer for years and he couldn't even apologise.

Friendly staff but not as good enough of hygiene. We order yesterday two meals one gyro with zouzoukakia and chips which zoozoukakia it was delicious. The other one pork souvlaki with Gyro and chips but the souvlaki it was suppose to be cooked in the grill, but was fry and Red in the meddle. My wife didn't feel very well in the evening after that. But not Gyro inside and we order Gyro separate and we been charge again. The lady that was taking our order says two different kind of meat. We spent like £40. We also saw that a lady from next door always asking for a change some pound notes for goins, and they handed the money with the same cloves while cooking and serving. And not cold drinks only room temperature.
