Just popped in here as was local to accommodation staying at before festival. Sensational little boozer with great atmosphere and staff were mega. Good to have chat with and just felt like a home from home. Cheers for having us guys and look forward to popping back in before we leave. 🤙🏻

A lovely pub, with great service from friendly staff. Didn't try the food, but the they have a good range of real ales and beers, plus a few fancy gins for the wife. Win win. Didn't participate in the meat raffle, but it was enjoyed by those that did. Won't be leaving it too long before going again 🍻👍

I really liked this pub. We were visiting from London for a friend's birthday and the staff were super friendly and accommodating and they have a pretty good selection of drinks. I had a really great cask Neipa. Sadly the kitchen wasn't up and running yet so would be interested to see what that will be like. If I lived local I'd spend a lot of time here as it has a nice vibe about it

Popped in for couple of drinks, very welcoming and dog friendly always a bonus for us.

The SLOB is a lovely traditional pub with very friendly locals and staff in an open bar format. There's a range of real ales on offer (up to 10 pumps) from golden beers and IPAs to Porters in addition to kegs, a non-alcoholic range, and of course lagers, ciders, wines and spirits! The pub is now dog-friendly and has been recently refurbished to include a function room at the back (open for busy evenings and can be hired).

It's still a great pub with a good selection of craft ales. Definitely a place in Portsmouth to enjoy a pint (or several). Friendly bar staff and locals, very relaxing.

Wonderful corner pub in Eastney, no TV in main bar so sports is out back on special occasions. This is ideal it encourages conversation. Always clean and tidy very friendly attentive staff, well kept ales and plenty of choice and hooray....HSB for £4.50 a pint. If you are looking for a great pint and no blaring music then this is the pub for you...recently though they have allowed kids in and dogs. Visit in November 2023 and an excellent choice of ales I think I counted 6 of them.....superb. I wish other pubs nearby could keep one or two ales like this, sadly not. For this reason, The Sirlion will continue to get my custom. Only downside is when busy, the lack of furnishings carpet curtain etc means it is loud no dampening you see. They need to address this. It would make it a bit more cosy too.

Hired the private function room. Fantastic venue! Large wall-mounted TV, private bar and toilets. Plenty of space for up to 50 people, with comfy chairs and separate tables. Access to outside courtyard for smokers and separate side door to the main road.

We've not long lived in the area and I wouldn't go in the pub before it was renovated 🙈. But now it looks great and is very welcoming. Loving our local now...👍

Popped in for a couple of pints after work This pub has been one of my locals for years, never really used it much as it used to feel really crowded and enclosed with the flags hanging from the ceiling ect. Now it has been revamped and nice and spacious all looks nice and clean, good choice of larger and ales I will start using it more.

Recently renovated locals pub which has kept a traditional pub feel. Felt welcome here. Longish bar and 2 dining areas.

Checked out the renovation at the SLOB this weekend, although there were parts which you could tell needed finishing, They’ve done a beautiful job. The real pièce de résistance was shown in the final photo.. a couple ladies left to have a smoke and the bar tender placed these mats on there drinks.. if you know you know.. we love a caring king. #caringking #slob #renovation

Dangerously close to my house, lol. Great atmosphere, great staff and clientele - to be fair, I know most of them! No loud music or intrusive televisions. Always packed for the Sunday meat raffle. Good selection of beers and the sort of place you can pop into and feel comfortable if all you want is a pint and a read of your book or strike a conversation with someone. Support your local!

Really friendly staff. Live very close to this pub and never had any problems - they’re quiet generally and in the summer we pop in to sit in the little beer garden that is a sun trap. Clean and has some good events like live music.

Sadly I'm no longer local to this pub, however, it's always had an amazing selection of real ales. In some cases, several of my favourites on at once making it difficult to choose! They're also kept well. Fantastic place if you're able to get there and back. Quite a locals corner pub from the outside and well worth a visit. I wish it was my local!

Fantastic Pub, popped in Monday lunchtime with the Missus, had great couple of Pints, Locals really friendly and the lovely lady behind the bar even ordered us a cab using her local cab app. Wish we could of stayed longer. Definitely worth a visit if your in that part of town. We'll be going back.

New landlord and a great improvement on the last, beer tastes as it should. Friendly staff who are actually willing and do offer a great service. Not currently offering cooked meals but do have a great selection of good old pub rolls; just like the old days.

Been closed for refurbishment, and it now looks a lot nicer, but I won't be going in there again as they have stopped doing the best Quiz in Southsea! They must be mad as it was always packed with thirsty drinkers!

Freehouse with a well deserved reputation for real ale. Usually busy with regulars and a good atmosphere. Very much a place where people sit and chat over a beer (other tipples are available!) Recently changed hands. The new owners seem to be maintaining a good range of well kept ales, at very reasonable prices. My partner is happy that they have added small bottles of Prosecco to their stock. The former landlord had a wide range of submariner memorabilia and other decor, which left with him. The new proprietors are currently redecorating, so still waiting to see how the place turns out. So far, so good though :-)
