Overall fantastic experience! The food was amazing, loved how they focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients. I particularly loved the gardens and decor. The staff made us feel very special as celebrated our engagement. Thank you for everything, I could not recommend the Pig in the forest enough!

Went for lunch with friends and had booked for 1:30pm with a view to getting back for a carol service by 4pm. On arrival we were told that the table wasnāt ready and so we got a drink. The manager advised us to order our food, which we did, as there was a party of 17 due. We were seated after 15 minutes but it then took nearly my 90 to get our main course (we had skipped starter as we were told that would have taken too long!). The food was nothing special and most had not been cooked to order, so no logic reason for the delay. It then took 30 minutes from ordering to get a dessert (all of which were pre-prepared). So we arrived at 1:30 and got away at 4:15 during which time we were asked if we needed anything just once by the staff. On asking for the bill, they said they would take off the service charge but then forgot to do it. They blamed the poor service on the Christmas rush but the real reason is more likely a mixture of incompetence and greed - taking too many bookings for their staff to deal with.

We had a fabulous meal here , found through Google reviews and so glad we did. The service was great , food delicious with good sized portions, good atmosphere and the fact we could bring our dog was a huge bonus ! Will definitely visit again if In the area and highly recommend āļø

Fantastic food. I phoned to check there was a vegan choice. The chef provided me with a good selection of dishes and my meal was probably one of the best I have ever had. Rest of group also had delicious food. Stayed overnight and the breakfast was very good as well. Incredibly friendly team behind the bar and the room was very comfortable.

The food was great but the owner/ manager was insulting and rude. First of all when my grandsonās legs wouldnāt fit under a table due to it having a ledge around it we asked if we could move tables ( the place was empty) he said a table is a table so move if you must, secondly we asked if they did garlic bread as my eight year old granddaughter enjoys it as a starter and he scoffed at us saying āthis isnāt a Harvesterā and we donāt have processed grated cheese (we didnāt ask for cheese garlic bread and surely any chef can make a price garlic bread! He was condescending to say the least - and for his information we have never ate at a Harvester but Iām sure their staff would be better mannered. Unfortunately my family and I were too taken aback to challenge him. Then throughout the meal he was stood in the restaurant talking very loudly on his phone - a totally rude man! Maybe he just does not like people from the north and thinks we live on fast food restaurant food? However he does have an excellent chef as the food was very good.

A very good morning to all the super staff at the George. 16 members of the Game Angling Instructors' Association had an evening meal at The George, following their National Fly Casting Instruction event, held at Fordingbridge - 11th and 12th October 2024. The evening meal was delicious - super starters, magnificent mains (highly recommend the tender rump steak) and delicious starters. All served up with super service. Many thanks.
